This airy summer tunic can be worn in summer, but also in any other season.
The 14-page knitting pattern explains size 38-42 in detail. A different size can easily be adjusted.



What makes this tunic special is that you have almost no seams. It only needs to be sewn together at the top of the shoulder and for a small section under the arm. It is knitted from the bottom up, in the round up to the armhole.

I only started crafting again last winter after many years away from it. My favorite moments since then are always when my son (41) remembers the Norwegian sweaters he loved so much as a child and that I knitted for him. And he’s happy every time I knit for his daughter now. Yes, and the very best moment is when she puts the things on. That’s the absolute highlight for me.

I’ll get to experience that moment this weekend at our 25th wedding anniversary. :-)

This is funny—I had no idea that yarn projects could be UFOs. How cool!

I just stopped by here now, after the weekend. ;-)
I’m also slowly getting started with ideas and projects for the fall and Christmas season. I’ve still got a few UFOs lying around that I just don’t feel like working on right now. The yarn is just too warm and too thick.

So I’ve started crocheting something new again. If it turns out the way I imagine it, it’ll be totally cute. In any case, it’s going to have a face… and I’m already curious to see how I’ll pull that off.

As I mentioned last week, I ordered some yarn. I really only needed one color, but… well. I guess I ended up needing several after all. And some of it is actually already on the hook.

Since we’re celebrating a silver wedding anniversary this weekend and I can finally give my granddaughter the two strappy dresses, I won’t be able to work on my UFOs and PIAs for now. That just makes me look forward to next week even more.

Oh my, I can relate to so much of what you’re all saying. I don’t even know where to start.

First off, the things I really don’t like doing:

• ironing,
• folding laundry
• vacuuming and mopping the floor
• dusting, of course

But I already have the best solution in the world for that—uh... the best husband in the world. Because he takes care of exactly those things for me. :-)

Tidying up isn’t exactly my favorite thing to do either, but I have to do it myself—otherwise I won’t be able to find anything afterward.

Well, and bookkeeping is another one of those things I really don’t love. For the past few weeks, though, I’ve actually been managing to file my receipts neatly every week, and then I take them to the tax advisor every quarter. My trick is that whenever I pick up my bank statements, I get everything done right away.

As for sewing, that’s not one of my favorite activities either. But by now I’ve also gotten into the habit of taking care of it right away before I start something new. It’s been working pretty well so far.

My reward is then knitting, crocheting, and coming up with new ideas.

Oh, and one more tip for when you’re really feeling unmotivated: I just put on my favorite music and let it motivate me. Or I call a friend or meet up with her, and just like that, the lack of motivation is gone.

Today I finished crocheting number 3 of the tissue box covers. Now I have them standing there in three different colors. Right now I need something that works up quickly—good for that sense of achievement. ;-)

This guardian owl belongs in every home—after all, everyone wants a few minutes of peace and quiet now and then. Whether it’s for relaxing, sleeping, in the bathroom, while working, or, of course, on the toilet.

The owl works as a door sign. It watches over any door and clearly shows, depending on which side is facing out, whether the way is clear or not.

My husband admires all the things I make and always says, “I couldn’t do that!”
Well, when we’re sitting with our neighbor and eventually start talking shop about knitting and crocheting, he’d rather get up and do something else. ;-)

Of course, he’s happy when I fulfill his wishes and knit him things like a hat, a scarf, and felted slippers. He loves those dearly. For summer items, I use a fairly thin cotton with a yardage of 150 to 170 m per 50 g. The garments are very light when knitted with it. I only use thicker, heavier cotton for the cooler season.

The baby pinafore dress I just knitted, for example, is very light and also thin. It’s good to wear in summer.

On the other hand, I can confirm that tightly knitted cotton also keeps you warm in fall and winter. A thicker yarn is probably better for that. 

Those are my experiences with it, since I really like using 100% cotton.
