You crochet or knit your gauge swatch (at least 10 cm x 10 cm), count how many stitches make up 10 cm for you, and can then conveniently look up in the table how many stitches you need to cast on for your desired measurement.

Quick and easy to crochet...

With this crochet method, you can decide while crocheting how large the poncho should be – you simply stop crocheting when you like the size.

The poncho and Möbius scarf are made with thick gradient yarn, 100 g – 100 m, and an 8.0 mm crochet hook. Yarn required for both pieces: approx. 700 g.

The PDF pattern includes the poncho and Möbius scarf and is illustrated, but it is not a crochet course in itself.

These crochet skills are needed:
chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches, crocheting in rows, crocheting in rounds.

By the way: with a Möbius scarf, the pattern you create is mirrored, i.e. one horizontal half looks like the right outer side, while the second half looks like the wrong inner side of the pattern. This creates sophisticated effects, depending on how the scarf is draped and how the pattern falls.

Potholders “It’s So Green” - Tunisian crochet

A touch of fresh spring green as kitchen decor or for real use as a potholder made from 100% cotton – a useful little gift for all kinds of occasions.

Both the PDF pattern for the potholder and the pattern for the crochet flower(s) are illustrated step by step.

Materials:
For 1 standard-size potholder, 21 cm x 21 cm: 50 g light green + 50 g dark green crochet yarn made from 100% cotton/plant fiber for heat resistance, e.g. Schoeller+Stahl Record 210, 50 g - 90 m, according to the label 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm), so 50 g per color for the Tunisian crochet hook up to a maximum size of 4.5.

For the flower(s), a leftover bit of cotton yarn is enough, e.g. Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl), for crochet hook size 2.5 - 3.5.

Note: heat-resistant cotton yarn (= potholder yarn) is only lightly twisted and is therefore difficult to crochet with, especially for beginners, because the yarn splits a lot. So if heat resistance is not that important to you, e.g. if you won’t be placing a hot pot on the potholder, you can also crochet with a cotton-blend yarn such as Pantino by Schoeller+Stahl.

In addition, we need a measuring tape, scissors, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends.

General crochet knowledge is sufficient; the Tunisian crochet technique is explained with pictures.

Whether crocheted or knitted: a cozy piece like this is popular all year round, whether on cool summer days, as an outdoor jacket in between seasons, or in winter on the couch.

And yes, the crochet pattern looks knitted and is just as cuddly soft.
But knitters will enjoy it too. The stitch pattern is very similar.

The PDF pattern is detailed and illustrated on 23 pages, and contains both the crochet pattern and the knitting pattern for the soul warmer and the arm/leg warmers.

The stitches used are explained with pictures.
So basic crochet or knitting skills are sufficient.

Basically, you can use any yarn you like. However, the amount of yarn can vary greatly depending on your yarn choice and hook/needle size. Details are included in the pattern. My yarn usage when using an alpaca yarn, 50 g – 100 m, according to the label for needle size 3 – 4, but used here: crochet hook size 8.0

Crochet pattern Möbius Collar 1-2-3-4

This collar wonderfully jazzes up pullovers and shirts. 


It is crocheted from approx. 60 g of a merino yarn with a yardage of 50 g – 160 m and hook size 3 – 4 (here with crochet hook 3.5) and is quickly finished in one afternoon. Beginners should allow themselves a little more crochet time. Other yarns with a suitable hook size can also be used. In my opinion, however, the pattern shows up better in finer yarns.

The Möbius technique in crochet is considerably easier than in knitting.

Quick-to-Knit Summer Shirt

This easy-to-knit summer design in size 38/40 is made from 250 g cotton blend yarn for needle size 3.5–4.0, 50 g = 125 m.

The PDF pattern includes pictures.

The finished shirt has a stretchy back width of approx. 44 cm and is approx. 65 cm long, but it also looks pretty when shorter. Thanks to the simple pattern (made of yarn overs, knit and purl stitches) and cut, this piece can be easily adjusted to any size.

Knitted Shirt/Pullover 'ALGARVE'

Two in one pattern:sleeveless long shirt, ideal for leggings, and with sleeves, a cotton pullover knitted in a simple lace pattern . Because of the pattern, it works out as ONE SIZE for women's sizes 38 - 44. Smaller sizes can be worn as "oversized." Weight gains and losses are therefore no problem.

Material:
300 g (without sleeves) / 550 g (pullover) Austermann Algarve (100% cotton; 50 g – 142 m) for needle size 2.5 – 3.5; here: knitting needle 3.5, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle, row counter helpful but not absolutely necessary. Gauge according to the ball band: 27 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

The PDF pattern contains the images from the image gallery (see above); no further images are included due to the simple cut.

Basic knitting knowledge is sufficient, including yarn over, knit 2 stitches together, slip-slip-knit 2 stitches (explained).
