Dear users and authors,
who among you is already thinking about winter, Christmas, Advent, etc. despite the summery temperatures, or is working on related patterns?

During the hot days we’ve had lately, I’ve found myself longing for at least a bit of fall every now and then. But that’s actually kind of silly—summer has only just begun :-)

I used to dislike winter completely because I’m really sensitive to the cold. But since I stopped working, I actually like almost any weather.
When it’s unpleasant outside, I retreat to my living room with a good book or some nice needlework. And when the sun is shining and it’s warm, I spend a lot of time outdoors. Then I do less crafting.
I can’t cope with extreme heat as well as I used to, though. But even then, there’s usually a cool or shady spot to be found.
I don’t long for winter or think about it. I just take it as it comes and make the best of it.

Well, I’m already thinking about winter patterns and have jotted down my first ideas and sketches. I want to be well-prepared for fall and winter this year. Last year, for example, I had the best Christmas ideas around St. Nicholas Day… definitely too late—by then, hardly anyone has time to make them anymore.....

Every year I resolve to start on Christmas gifts early, but it usually doesn’t work out that way. I do have a few ideas again this year, but then I remember that I still owe some gifts from last year, and the Christmas elf is also sitting in the box with my UFOs...

I’ve already put together a Christmas pattern, since I don’t have anything like that in my shop yet—and even Santa likes air-dried laundry.

I’ve already been thinking about it—for example, decorating my Tempobox for Christmas. Angels are also swirling around in the pool of ideas in my head.

What it’ll actually turn out to be? I have no idea. I’ve already got one of my new projects on the needles—my cardigan, which I want to finish by fall. Now that the temperatures are finally cool enough, I don’t feel like I’m in a sauna while I knit. Now it can keep growing.

At our house, we’ve already discussed a snowboarding course for our son and made our vacation plans for the Christmas break accordingly.
I’ve also picked out my first Christmas gift.
I’ve even finished a rough sketch for something I’m going to crochet for my mom—and I’ve already got the yarn.

But that’s about it for my winter thoughts.

Now it’s time for summer. Vacation, school breaks for the kids, swimming in the pool and the lake, eating ice cream, and all the other great things summer has to offer.
And hopefully the weather stays this way. Sun, sun, sun!

Dear stjerne61, what a cute idea—hanging those St. Nicholas outfits on a clothesline!

Fortunately, shawls are timeless, so I’m not thinking about winter just yet. ;-)
It’ll be here soon enough. Just kidding. I’ll start preparing the first winter patterns by August at the latest.
