Yeah, Traudelina, it’s pretty much the same for me. With this heat here in Bavaria ;-) I prefer crocheting too, and I’ve already almost finished a new project. My UFOs, though, are knitting projects with thicker yarn. Phew… those would be too warm for me right now. I’m already sweating just looking at them.

I took some photos of my new project yesterday—in the garden. Sweat kept dripping from my face onto the camera—it was really annoying having to watch out for that.

Generally, I prefer knitting, but I’ve also discovered my love for crocheting. Cotton is easy to work with even in the summer.

I don’t have any problems with wet hands. I could imagine that maybe a little powder might help?

This guardian owl works like a door traffic light. It guards any door, for example the door to the toilet, bathroom, children's room, or bedroom. It has two sides and always clearly shows whether the way is free or not. And the best part: it spreads good cheer everywhere! :-)



With the 16-page crochet pattern, the owl is very easy to make. Soon it can hang on your door too and bring joy to you and your family. And—it also makes a very useful and lovely gift.

The pattern is suitable for beginners with basic knowledge.

The following materials are needed: 

• Red and green thinner cotton yarn – leftover yarn is also enough (I used a yardage of 170 m/50 g here) 
• Leftover cotton yarn in white and beige (gray or other colors are also alternatives)
