Dear users, dear authors,
the April projects were wonderful.
You can read up on them here:

April Projects: UFO Week from April 23-30, Best of the Leftovers, Yarn Diet: Final sprint for
world domination, all April projects and of course baby and
doll models as well as spring models

April Projects: Final Sprint and Awards Ceremony

Now it’s time for May. In May, we’ll again have the popular activities UFO Week, Best of the Leftovers, Yarn Diet (runs for only 1 month. Anyone who needs a break can pause and buy yarn. ), Tunisian crochet, and brand new: Rescuing Wallflowers (PDF patterns that were bought / downloaded for free, but never actually made ). This will be fun.

Here are the details:

UFO Week = this time there’s more time for it:
May 22 (=Tuesday after Pentecost ) to June 4 (= Monday after the end of the
Pentecost holidays ). Then you can enjoy Pentecost, have enough time for everything during the
Pentecost holidays, and can also use the Corpus Christi weekend
(long weekend because of the holiday ). But in return I want
lots of finished UFOs, lots of used-up leftover yarn, and lots of
finished garden projects, so I can hand out lots of titles
. :- )

--> Anyone who finishes at least one UFO during UFO Week has earned the title.

Best of the Leftovers:
Anyone who uses up a lot of leftover yarn will be awarded this title. Photos are always a good idea.

Yarn Diet = Yarn Emperor: This time it runs only until the end of May, or until June 4.

During this time, the volunteer participants won’t buy any yarn, but will only use yarn from their stash. --> Reduce your stash—that makes room for something new.

Inner-Pig-Dog Conqueror = 1 year without buying yarn.
CarosverrueckteHaekelwelt, are you still at it? Please give us an update.

The detailed Yarn Diet, with a chance to reach the final round for rule over this galaxy, will be back from August to October. There will be no Yarn Diet in November and December so you can finish your Christmas projects.
In 2019, logically, the final round for rule over the universe will follow. We’ll start in January. I hope you’ll all join in.

New***New***New
Rescuing Wallflowers: Surely each of you has quite a few patterns (purchased or free ) that were only downloaded, but never actually made?
Anyone who finishes their oldest wallflower in May will be awarded the title Wallflower Rescuer. Extra points for feedback / comments / reviews of the pattern.

New***New***New
Rescuing neglected yarn or neglected material = title of the activity where yarn that never really fits is used up. Anyone who wants a title should please upload a photo of the unloved yarn each time. Of course, the yarn / material also has to be used appropriately and attractively.
For that, you’ll be awarded Yarn Rescuer or Material Rescuer.

New***New***New
Unraveling Monsters = the cute little critters that take great joy in forcing you to unravel your hard work. But you
can’t be mad at them. :- ) Whatever the unraveling monsters don’t catch may become a UFO. :- )
You can write down info here:
Unraveling Monsters thread April, May, and June: what did you unravel and why?
-->Anyone who writes down details and info about their unraveling monsters at the end of the month
can, if desired, be honored as an “Unraveling Monster Conqueror”

Learn something new and win activity
Anyone who has learned something new can write it down here in the thread, and then there will be compliments and victory.

All May projects and all garden projects
Here in the thread there is room for everything you craft in May, and also for all projects that you craft in the garden and on the balcony. Info and photos are always a good idea.

give the thread a little time to load / build the images.
If you’re on a PC and have a somewhat older PC or a PC with only
a little RAM, then please close all other tabs and
give the thread a little time to load.

UFO Week, Best of the Leftovers, Rescuing Wallflowers, etc. etc.
We’ll do it all again in June. :- )

I’ll open a new thread for the final sprint and the awards ceremony at the end of May, and then the new thread for the June projects at the beginning of June.

Have fun. Here’s to a wonderful, successful, and productive May.

Josefa, that sounds super interesting. What exactly is “Rescuing Wallflowers”??

I’d definitely love to join in, because I love these kinds of activities. It’ll finally get my long-neglected yarn moving, and my stash will start to shrink, making room for something new in June.

Rescuing the Wallflowers = patterns that were purchased but never made.
= PDF patterns that are on your computer or have been printed out.

If you’d like an activity for using up “unloved” yarn, then I’ll need more information and a catchy title for it.

"Rescuing wallflowers" sounds good. But I feel like I have a million of them. I’ll have to dig through them.

Please give us an update.

I’m fully on board with the yarn diet. That should be easy enough too, after my recent shopping spree....

I think “Mauerblümchen” is great. But I’d be more in Monika’s unloved-yarn camp. I bought some years ago that I just can’t seem to figure out what to do with. Black and white with bright pink, and then there’s a silver thread in there too.
And most of all, there’s so much of it that I could make three blankets out of it—that is, if I can find anyone who wants a blanket in those colors.
Maybe a shawl instead? With shawls, scarves, and capes, I never have trouble finding someone to give them to.
Only, if possible, please start a project like that in June.
And I can’t think of a “catchy title” for the project. Except maybe: “Turn Unloved Material into a Coveted Gift”—keeping it fairly neutral so everyone can join in.

I’ve already picked out a project for the leftover-yarn challenge. My daughter will be happy—it’s something for her.

I don’t have any UFOs this time. Well, I do have UFOs at home, but I still have to finish two birthday gifts this month, so there’s no room for an extra UFO. Unless I can use the shawl I’m making for my coworker. But I only started that two weeks ago. If that counts, I’m in!

Good
Unloved/Neglected Yarn/Material Saver = Title of the challenge where yarn or material that never quite works out is used up. Other unloved materials (fabric, paper, etc.) can also be used in this challenge.
Please be sure to include a photo.

I’m still fighting my inner slacker. I was at the doll fair in Münster, and there were yarn stalls there too. I did take a quick look here and there, but my interest was really elsewhere. :-)

Oh, how nice, Josefa: “neglected yarn” sounds really good! :-)
I like the idea of incorporating this challenge here. I actually have quite a bit of stash that I keep circling around, but so far I haven’t felt like using any of it.

Once I use it up, I’ll suddenly have plenty of room for new yarn. Brilliant!

As soon as I’ve figured out what I could make from it, I’ll post a photo of the stash and later one of the finished project.

You really shouldn’t get bored here. :-)

May tip: Be nice to your unravel monsters. Anything the monsters catch won’t become a UFO. You’ve got plenty of those anyway. :-)

Here’s my first project this month made from “diet” and leftover yarn—pants for my favorite teddy bear. His little tail peeks out the back; it looks so cute. I’ll post a photo of that later. Of course, I’ll also share a pattern for these pants later.

I’m definitely joining the Wool Diet, and I’m going to give the Inner Slacker Conqueror challenge a try.

Plus, I plan to save at least one wallflower ;-)

Oh Marion, your little calf turned out great! Congratulations on the new family member. :-)

Here are the teddy’s pants from the back, with the little tail peeking out: Isn’t that totally cute?

The teddy will also get a matching headband and maybe even a vest.

Thanks, Monika.
Our son’s Labrador was also thrilled with the new family member—he thought I was making it for him. But he doesn’t stand a chance; I’m not giving it away. It’s soooo cute.

Your teddy bear pants turned out great, too. I love the idea of the slit.

Yes, the pups, Marion—they love stuffed animals like that, too. But the little calf really mustn’t be chewed up. It’s just so cute you’ll fall in love with it.

Mel, this is definitely going to be a hit in your shop!

Yes, the teddy bear pants are really cute and easy to knit. I’ll write up the pattern as soon as I get around to it. Then no other bears will have to be jealous anymore. Right, Christina... ;-)

Marion, thanks again for your help—the little calf turned out really great! It would be such a shame if anything happened to it!

Monika, thank you ;)
Your teddy pants are totally cute with the opening for the little tail ;)
So now that I’ve finished the calf pattern, I’m moving on to my cardigan. Since I found a mistake and had to redo a whole section, I’m starting on the sleeves now. This will probably be my May-June-July project....

Mel,
I’m so sorry about your jacket. (Sob, sob)????????????

But there is one positive thing about it: you could sign up right here for the Ribbelmonster Tamer title. You’d definitely have a good chance of earning a title.
I’m pretty sure, though, that the jacket will turn out great—you’re a pro, after all!

Oh, Marion, it wasn’t that bad. This time, on my second try, I left openings for the pockets right away; before, I’d planned to sew the pockets on. Unfortunately, when it comes to knitting, I’m miles away from being a pro.... but practice makes perfect :)

Oh, Mel, maybe it’ll comfort you to know that I much prefer knitting and had to really brush up on my crocheting skills and practice a lot to get good at it. Others are way ahead of me there. I think you’re better at it than I am.

After all, we’re here to help each other out. That’s exactly what I love so much about this forum.

Sewing pockets into a cardigan—I’ve developed my own method for that. I knit them right into the cardigan, and then later I just need to sew one side securely from the inside. That way, nothing can fall out of the pockets later on. That’s how I did it with my cardigan and with my granddaughter’s, too.

Have a wonderful day, everyone. It’s perfect weather for gardening today, and I’m going to take two hours this afternoon to knit a headband for my teddy bear and design the vest. Then he’ll look really cute. :-) Finally, I’ll be putting my diet yarn and leftover yarn back on the needles.

Warm regards from Monika

Well, I’m ready now too.
I’m signing up for the following projects this month:

UFO Week
Best of Leftovers
Yarn Diet
Inner-Pig-Dog Conqueror, we’ll see if I can stick it out; I do have enough yarn.
Learning Something New - with Tunisian crochet
Garden projects - no problem in this weather

I’ll show my first UFO right away. Because that cute little calf came up in between, the loop unfortunately became a UFO.
But that wasn’t a problem, so I’ve already got one finished. It only needs the finishing row.

Mel, yes, you can make beautiful things with stash-diet yarn, too. It’s some old sock yarn—one leftover skein and one full skein, in two different colors too. Luckily, I realized right away that one skein wouldn’t be enough and distributed it cleverly.
The yarn contains bamboo, so it doesn’t feel scratchy.
The pattern is from CP.

Here I’ve gathered up some leftover cotton yarn in shades of blue. That should be enough for my pot holders.

Marion, I agree with you there. Working with wool-diet yarn gives you completely new ideas. It’s the same for me. Your loop scarf looks really great. And your “leftover yarn”... wow! The color combination is fantastic. I’m curious to see how much of it you’ll actually need for your pot holders.

I’m currently mulling over a new idea for pot holders or oven mitts. I’ll take some time for that while I’m on vacation. If I wanted to bring everything I have in mind right now to life this month, I’d need at least 10 hands.

My leftover wool-diet yarn is definitely enough to whip up some pretty things this month. It would probably last even longer. It just depends now on whether I have the right yarn in stock for the color project. So this month, I’m still in the running for the “Conqueror of Inner Laziness” title. The School for Conquering Laziness is working its magic. ;-)

Monika, I’m curious to see what you’re cooking up.

I’ve almost finished a potholder, and I’ve barely used any yarn. I’m afraid I’ll have to make several more. We’ll see when I lose interest. I won’t crochet up all that yarn.

Just wait and see, Marion. ;-)

With your yarn, I’d be tempted to make a striped sweater with all those shades of blue... I had already figured you’d be able to make quite a few pot holders out of it.

Monika, the idea with the sweater isn’t bad, but that wouldn’t be enough for it.
I’ll be careful not to use up all the shades of blue just yet, though. A wise woman plans ahead!
It would be pretty silly if I needed blue yarn at some point and didn’t have any left. (Conqueror of Procrastination)

My first cloth is finished; I only used 42g of yarn.
Take a look at how it turned out. It ended up being Tunisian crochet again.

Wow, that looks great, Marion! A beautiful color combination!

I admire everyone who’s so skilled at Tunisian crochet and can create such beautiful things with it. :-)

I prefer knitting, though, since it’s also nice and stretchy. Tunisian crochet looks great, though, and it’s really well-suited for pot holders.

Who knows, maybe you’ll need your blue yarn again for a color challenge. By the way, a pillow would look great with it, too. Wouldn’t that be something for you?

Well, I’m off to the garden now to knit a headband for my teddy bear. I’m currently designing a style that fits all heads, big and small. It just happened that way... I’ll keep you posted.

Sunny greetings to everyone from Monika

@Michaela

Nice piece—it reminds me of the ’70s. Back then, I crocheted bikinis for my daughter; she was about 4–5 years old at the time.

Welcome to the club of Tunisian crocheters.

I just finished my UFO loop; I still need to weave in the ends.

Michaela, I like that too—it looks great.

Marion, it occurred to me today as well that the yarn is going down pretty slowly weight-wise. ;-)

I’m gathering my UFOs right now and will post some photos later. It’s the pillow and the baby pants. I was already tinkering with them yesterday, figuring out how to continue knitting them.

Oh, Monika, better slowly than not at all. Right now, I’m just working on a bunch of little things. I still have to make a sensory blanket by fall, so progress will pick up again then.

But at least my first UFO this month is finished. It’s the loop.

You’re right, Marion! :-) I’m really enjoying making little things right now. For my vacation, I’m putting together a selection for lots of small projects. That way I can use up a lot of leftover yarn at once.

Your loop UFO turned out great and came out really well!

Here are my two UFOs that absolutely have to be finished this month:

UFO No. 1—the pillowcase (shown from both sides here):

All that’s missing are the buttons, which I finally have now.

UFO No. 2—the baby pants (I’ll work on that while on vacation):

I’ll be using up quite a few leftover yarn scraps again this month. Here’s what I’m still planning to knit or crochet from leftovers:

 • Headbands for the teddy bears
 • Headband for the baby
 • A vest for the teddy bear
 • For my granddaughter’s play kitchen: a slice of cheese, a waffle
 • A small cushion as a wrist rest/pad for the “mouse hand” at the computer (my son copied that from me and wants one now too)
 • Potholders
Well, let’s see how much of that I actually manage. At least it’ll use up some leftover yarn. For the potholders, I’ll probably use small leftover yarn balls, because they’ll likely be double-thickness.

Monika, I hope you have fun working on your leftover-yarn projects.

I also made two little projects today while sitting on a deck chair in my garden. I finally crocheted that beautiful rose from scrubby yarn.

Monika, those aren’t for washing dishes—they’re exfoliating sponges.
You can also take them with you into the bathtub or shower. I’m going to make a few more to keep in stock; it’s a breeze. That way, I’ll always have a little gift ready to go, along with some soap.

But it’s also great to have something nice for washing dishes in the kitchen! I love these dish sponges because they’re really practical. They dry quickly, and since you can wash them at 60 degrees, they stay hygienically clean.

Next week we’re going on a camping holiday, and I’ll definitely have time for crocheting and knitting. I’ve already got everything ready. I still have so much yarn I want to knit up that there’s no room for any new yarn at all.

This weekend, though, I’m first of all looking forward to seeing my granddaughter, whom I unfortunately see far too rarely. On the journey, I’ll crochet her a slice of cheese and a waffle. Once we’re there, I’ll see what else she might like.

I’ve almost finished the hand rest for my son. I’ve already knitted it in the round with the trio - the 3 needles. It takes some getting used to, and at first I didn’t get on with it very well. But it’s getting better and better now. Once the "hand cushion" is finished, I’ll show it to you.

mowi: I felt exactly the same way about the three needles. Now I’ve already knitted the heel and it’s going smoothly. Especially when I’m on the go, this is much more practical and safer than using a set of double-pointed needles.

I wish you a wonderful camping vacation and lots of fun with your granddaughter. (I’ve only seen my little grandson, who will be two months old in a few days, in photos and on Skype!)

Warm regards, Christina

Marion and Christina, thank you for your kind wishes! Yes, I’m really looking forward to the weekend and the vacation. Unfortunately, it’s going to be cold and wet in the Allgäu next week, but oh well. I can knit even without the sun. ;-)

Christina, you’ll feel absolutely blissful when you hold your grandson in your arms for the first time. It’s something so special… I can’t even describe it. Someday, that time will surely come.

Marion, you make such great things. Of course, the rose on the right is the one you crocheted. ;-)
Your vintage pattern looks great! I think patterns like that are always “in” somehow. It would look good on a shawl, too.

This morning I quickly finished the cushion for my son’s “mouse hand.” Here’s what it looks like now. It’s really easy to knit, and I only needed a tiny piece of leftover yarn. It weighs just 32 grams.

How’s everything going with you?
How are your projects, the leftover yarn, and the (unloved) yarn coming along?
At the top of the first post in this thread, you’ll find a list of the current challenges.
There’s definitely something for everyone. UFO Week starts on May 22.
Have you gathered your UFOs yet?
Let me know.

Finished! :-)))

This dress is made from loooooots of leftover yarn, Ribbelmonster, and neglected yarn. Of course, it’s not for everyday wear (it’s too colorful for that), but for the Schlagermove. It didn’t turn out ankle-length, but knee-length. I think it’s great; my husband thinks it’s awful...

Here are the Ribbelmonster and the neglected yarn. There was another neglected yarn, but I forgot to take a picture of it.

I’ll post a photo of me wearing it on the day of the Schlagermove.

Hello,

I'm still diligently sticking to my yarn diet.

I don't know yet whether the Wallflower Rescuer title will work out, since first I have to
make the wedding gift for my former colleague - of course
from my stash.

My vest was finished on Sunday.

Things are actually going well for me. I’ve already finished one UFO, I used up some old yarn, the yarn diet is going well, I’ve also been crocheting and knitting in the garden, and I’ve learned a new technique too.

So everything I set out to do for May worked out.

Your colorful dress made from leftover yarn turned out beautifully. I’m looking forward to seeing a photo of you wearing it.

Anton is always stealing my empty water bottles and playing with them. This afternoon, one of them had to come along in the stroller too and eventually fell out onto the street.
Now I’ve filled a small Coke bottle with pasta and crocheted a cover with a clip for the stroller. He’s totally thrilled with the bottle; tomorrow I’ll see if the cover works the way I imagine it will.

I’m not really satisfied with my May results so far: Neither the seal nor the “wallflower project” is making any progress. Since I “inherited” a lot of yarn, I first wound a few skeins into balls, and then, of course, I had to do a gauge and pattern swatch right away. Luckily, May still has a little while left!

@Arni

The idea with the bottle is great. The simplest things are often much more interesting and nicer to play with.

Dear all,

how nice to finally be back here again! I’ve really missed this forum. Since we only have snail-paced internet here in the Allgäu, it’s all veeeery tedious. But today I finally have the patience, and it’s actually paying off—at last, after many attempts. I can even see the photos. :-)

Arni, your dress looks absolutely fantastic. I’m already looking forward to seeing a photo of you wearing it. A truly brilliant way to use up leftover yarn. And the idea with the bottle for Anton is great, too. Kids just love playing with the things we actually use. It’s the same with my granddaughter… whom I’ve finally gotten to see again. The funny thing is that she’s now completely convinced that all her knitted items come from her grandma, even though that’s obviously not the case with everything. :-)

I haven’t gotten much done on vacation so far. At least I’m finally finishing my UFO. For the baby pants, I just need to finish knitting the upper back section. Then I’ll add buttons and a little embellishment. I’ll definitely have that done by the last week of May.

Using leftover and “diet” yarn, of course, I’ve since knitted two headbands—one for the teddy bear and one for the baby. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to upload the photo until I’m back home on May 23.

I’ve also been busy writing up the patterns. But here, too, I won’t be able to upload them until the 23rd—otherwise it’ll take hours (and I’m not exaggerating). Maybe we’ll have better internet luck at our next campsite starting on Pentecost Monday.

For now, I hope you continue to have fun transforming your leftover and “diet” yarn!

Warm regards from my camping vacation, Monika

I crocheted a rattle car out of leftover yarn. I’m visiting another mom and her baby on Tuesday, and this is a little gift
By the way, Anton gets a lot of use out of his bottle rattle, and the “cover” for the bottle is practical—the clip keeps it from falling out.

However, people do give me a bit of a funny look when they peek into the stroller and see Anton cuddling his bottle so devotedly :-)))))

Arni, that doesn’t matter—the main thing is that Anton likes it.

How cute, Arni! Anton has really grown already. It doesn’t seem that long ago to me that you told us about his birth...
The car turned out beautifully, and Arni looks happy with his bottle. That’s a really great idea for other moms. It’s so easy to make baby toys.

I’ve been busy again and turned my pot holder design into reality. They’re going to be oven mitts, and one of them is almost done. I won’t show them until they’re finished. But I’ll give you this little hint ... they’re amigurumi, and they look absolutely beautiful. Wait and see. It uses up about 200 g of diet yarn. :-)

Best wishes - still on vacation ... but back home again from Monday

Monika: He’ll be 8 months old the day after tomorrow. I also think it’s really crazy how fast time flies.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the pot holders...
Have a great rest of your vacation

@ Arni

I think the bottle idea is very practical and original :-)

MY MAY PROJECT

May I introduce you to Bernadette? She was made while I was on vacation.

So Bernhard (my avatar) won’t be so alone anymore. Now the two of them are working on a few eggs :-)

Petra, Bernhard, and Bernadette are just so cute! You really did a great job with them—they’re absolute heart-melters.

Arni, 8 months??? I’m amazed at how fast time flies. Wow!

Arni, you’re really productive—great!

I’ll definitely have my two UFOs finished by the end of May. The pillowcase just needs the buttons, and the baby pants need the buttons plus the trim. Phew, it’s finally done. Without this challenge here, it would surely have been left unfinished even longer.

I wish you all a wonderful week!

I’m currently at my parents’ house with Anton. They’re keeping Anton entertained, and I get to crochet. .... Win-win :-)

I finished my new shawl yesterday, which I don’t think was really a UFO...
It never sat untouched for more than a week, so let’s be fair about it :)

Also, I finally finished my figures for the wedding gift yesterday and just need to finish decorating the box so I can put them inside :)
The bride and groom better be happy! :D

I’ll show you the shawl later (I’m not home right now), and I’ll finish making the gift and then show it—partially pixelated... Since it involves comic characters, I’d rather play it safe :D

Yay, my two UFOs are finally finished! Here are the photos to prove it. ;-)

The baby pants—they look so cute when worn.

The knitting pattern is still a UFO. ;-)

And here’s the second UFO—the buttons are finally sewn onto the pillowcase. Here’s the mixed-pattern pillow from both sides:

I’ll post my projects made from leftover yarn after the weekend. I just need to sew up the second cushion to support my “mouse hand” — for my husband.

And then I’m still working on little matching socks from the leftover yarn from the baby pants; it’ll be a mix of knitting and crocheting. By the way, the needle trio works great for such tiny items. The pants weigh just 77 grams, so they didn’t use much cotton. And… of course, they’ll grow with the baby, just like my little dresses. This time it was the baby boy’s turn. And if my second grandchild turns out to be a girl again, she’ll get the pants anyway. Because they look cute on girls, too.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. We’re heading into our first hot spell—they’re forecasting 30 degrees for Sunday… sweating…

Warm weekend greetings from Monika

How are things going with your UFOs and the like?

As for me, I’ll be adding some baby summer socks by tomorrow—I’ll finish them tonight. :-) A photo will follow by tomorrow at the latest.

Since I have to wait until June to order new yarn for my oven mitts, I’ll probably start a baby summer sweater next—made from “diet yarn,” of course. I still have plenty left. ;-)

I’m really looking forward to the new order. It’ll be like Christmas, Easter, and my birthday all at once! So excited.... :-)

Now I’m going to tackle my pattern UFOs first...

Have fun knitting, crocheting, crafting, or sewing! It can never be too warm for that, right?

My current leftover-yarn projects look like this at the moment. One of them should actually be finished this month.

Pe-Ka, your egg cups look so cute. :-)

Marion, you’re really hard at work on your big projects—you keep finishing them one after another. The patterns look really great. What’s the top one going to be?

Here’s my leftover-yarn project progress so far:

2 headbands—one for the baby and one for the teddy bear—double-knitted:

And then the baby socks (sneakers?), knitted and crocheted—from the leftovers from the baby pants. Here’s also a photo of what they look like when worn—matching the summer pants:

I’ve now started crocheting more socks or little shoes. The leftovers should be enough for that. When they’re done, I’ll post them here. We still have time.

Monika,
I especially like the baby pants with shoes—they go together perfectly.
The picture above shows a summer top with a wide neckline. It became a UFO because I started on the vest. It’s my little-elf project. The pattern is so simple, yet beautiful.
I only started it last Wednesday and am already almost done.

Marion, you really do have nimble hands—wow! I’m excited to see your summer top with the neckline once it’s finished.

Arni wanted to show us that pretty, colorful dress made from leftovers while wearing it … I’m especially looking forward to that.

I’ve already posted the dress :-) and the photo of me wearing it will come after July 14. That’s when the Schlagermove is, and then there’ll be a photo showing it in all its glory—with the bag, hair, shoes, etc.

I’m currently crocheting a musical toy, again using yarn from my diet stash. There isn’t a child for it yet either... But that’ll come in time. :-)

My yarn stash is getting smaller and smaller. But I’m going to stick with the “diet” at least until the end of June. Who knows, maybe I’ll even be able to overcome my inner slacker.

Oh Arni, July 14 is still a long way off. But we’re happy to be patient for this special photo moment. :-)

A music box ... that’s what Anton is for. Or does he already have one?
It sounds very much like the desire for the next baby is already there ... how lovely.

I’m keeping my fingers and big toes crossed for you for the Schweinehund Conqueror title. You can do it!
I just really need yarn to finish crocheting my oven mitts. And I’m really going to stock up when I’m ordering anyway - yay!! Next week is the time.

Wishing all of you here a sunny-hot day of crocheting, knitting, crafting, and sewing!

Anton has a really great music box shaped like a car that I crocheted while I was pregnant.
He’ll probably remain an only child, since Anton is the perfect kid and it doesn’t get any better than that... Plus, I’ll be turning 40 this year.

But some people among our acquaintances and friends are trying, and it’s nice to already have something ready.

And I’ll be using up my yellow yarn (it’s going to be a sun).

Please remember the final push.
UFO Week and all May projects will run until June 4 this month due to Pentecost and the holiday.
The thread for the awards ceremony will go online on Sunday evening; the ceremony itself will then take place on Monday or Tuesday. If anyone needs a little more time, it might also be on Wednesday.

As soon as May is wrapped up, the June thread for all June projects, etc., will go online.

My “Wallflower Rescue” project will definitely be finished in May. I’ve already shown you the bikini top. I quickly knitted a tunic in between ;-) That’s why I couldn’t continue with my Tunisian crochet. But it was just about learning, right?

Thanks, Josefa, for making sure everything runs until June 4—otherwise I’d be in a real bind, since neither the wallflower project nor the baby sweater nor the UFO is finished yet! I’ll keep at it!

Wow, you’ve finished some great pieces. Your tunic looks really great, Michaela. I like it.
And Marion, I think your vest is great, too. Now that it’s finished, I’m suddenly in the mood to knit a vest myself...

Arni, who knows... my mom didn’t give birth to me until she was almost 43, either. ;-) But it’s true—there are plenty of babies and moms who love getting gifts.

My UFOs are finally finished. I’ll summarize the final tally over the next few days to make things easier for Josefa. :-)

I tried sewing yesterday. :-)

After I put the little troublemaker to bed, things went better.

I turned a cheap (ugly) sunshade from the drugstore into a one-of-a-kind piece. The sunshade I bought has UV protection, so I just sewed the other fabric on top of it.

@Arni: In a few years, Anton might "help" you with sewing. My granddaughter is 4 now and is always happy when she’s allowed to operate the sewing machine pedal on command. You just have to say "Stop!!!!" in time ;-)
The sun sail turned out very pretty!

I almost could have shown this too. A soul warmer for my mom, quickly crocheted from late April to early May, then it had to be put on hold because of a delay in receiving the measurements. I wanted to finish it today, but I can’t find the thin elastic to crochet into it anymore—how silly of me. I can’t get a new one until tomorrow because of the holiday. The picture isn’t great—I’m stretching out my arm to show Mom that it really fits—but my arm got cut off. Hmm, maybe it’s better that I take care of this tomorrow… ah, but for all projects, does May run until June 3?
