Dear users, dear authors,
what kind of leftover yarn and general yarn stash do you still have? Who has bought any yarn?
Let me know. Photos would be great.

Unfortunately, I had to buy an additional 500g for my cardigan :(
This seems to be turning into a never-ending project...

My yarn corner, stacked two rows deep ^^ it’s actually always too small for me ....sigh

and my little basket of leftover yarn (it used to be a bigger basket - I’m being good and steadily working through it)^^

Wow, Sabine, good job—it’s so neatly sorted by color :-))
I have to admit, mine looks
pretty chaotic in comparison. Best regards, Roswitha

@Zwergerlstrick,

well-behaved? my family calls that "bean-counting" and "over-organizing" :-)

Awesome, Sabine, it looks like a yarn store at your place! I’d love to come shopping there right away ;-))
It’s pretty chaotic at my place too: I tuck a few skeins in wherever I can. And when I need something, the search begins.
But I call it “creative chaos”.

Sabine, that’s enough to make anyone jealous. Sooo nice and organized! It really feels like a yarn shop. Really cool!

For me, it’s a mix of neat and chaotic. Everything I need for my next projects is scattered in different corners, waiting to be used. I’ve stashed other supplies in drawers. That way, it doesn’t look like quite as much. ;-)

I’m not showing you my crochet sofa....that’s where I sit crocheting in the middle of the chaos^^

It doesn’t look quite as nice and tidy at my place.
I keep my yarn sorted by color in clear bags in a cabinet with a door. Larger quantities of a single type of yarn are stored separately. Then I have huge amounts in boxes on two shelves.
But even with all that yarn, I know exactly where to look when I need something.

Actually, I could stick to my “yarn diet” for much longer.

For me, everything is stashed away somewhere in boxes and bags. But eventually I’ll get that promised space in my closet. Then I’ll post a photo.

As for world domination in the “no-wool-purchases” department, I’m afraid I’ll have to pass. My colleague moved her celebration forward. And since I’ve never ordered from the place where she picked out her yarn, I’d rather play it safe. I don’t want the Bobbel to arrive too late.
I got the invitation yesterday afternoon.
Until the Bobbel arrives, I can still think of a pattern.....

Yarn purchases: 0
But leftover yarn and stash—I can’t even begin to count those :-)

What’s the current status?

Well, okay—I might have gone a little (!) overboard again, but since I needed yarn for my grandson’s blanket, I thought ahead and stocked up for more grandchild projects… and unfortunately, there were such beautiful new cotton colors that I just couldn’t resist. And you always need cotton, after all… I’d rather not show you my other stash—it makes me nervous just thinking about when I’m ever going to use it all up!

Thanks, but don’t congratulate me until I’ve actually done something with my haul! I’ll do my best!

Oh, Christina, that looks really great… I can practically feel the cotton… those are such beautiful colors. I’ve managed to resist so far, but in June, it’s time for another yarn frenzy… uh, shopping spree. Then I’ll stock up on the colors I’m missing, too.

I’m making good progress working through my stash. And to be honest, I’m really looking forward to finally buying some more yarn again after almost half a year of “yarn diet.” I’m actually proud of myself for sticking with it for soooo long.

I’m still missing some yarn, especially for my new oven mitts. The leftover yarn wasn’t enough after all. I’ll pick it back up in June. I plan to hold out until the end of May.

There’s still too much to count, but the amount is going down :-)

Okay, so how’s it looking?

Who’s bought any yarn? Who’s planning to buy yarn once the “yarn diet” is over?
Who’s bravely sticking to the “yarn diet”?
Who has a lot of (new) leftover yarn?

Let me know.

Okay, I haven’t used up too much, bought a little, and received a lot of new yarn as gifts… but I’m keeping at it!

I haven’t bought any more yarn! I’m still working through my stash.
600g are available for my next project.... let’s see if it’s enough for a sweater.
But I don’t really feel the urge to buy new yarn right now.

Still haven’t bought any yarn. Last year I weighed it all and came to over 70 kg.
I have at least 500–600 g of many types in stock, so I can easily make larger pieces.
But very slowly, it’s getting to be less.

Things didn’t go so well in June, but things are looking up now.
I still have a lot planned.
In any case, I haven’t bought any yarn yet, and I don’t plan to in the near future.

Somehow I get the impression that it’s actually increasing rather than decreasing.

Pretty good, actually. My stash is slowly shrinking. Unfortunately, with the amounts I have, it’s not very noticeable.

But I’ll keep at it.

Are things going well with the yarn?

Thanks for asking! Unfortunately, unfortunately, more keeps getting added now and then, because with so many projects, it’s always the crucial yarn or the most important color that’s missing! Despite all my diligent crocheting and knitting, the scales are still tipping in the wrong direction…
