Swap Package – These Creations Came Out of It, Part 2

Wow, Ines, those pillows turned out so beautiful! They’re real works of art! Yes, the Drops Nepal yarn is nice, but I just didn’t like the color, and you’ve turned it into something really pretty.

Hard-working little helpers: What are you working on?

Wow, you’ve got some lovely things on your needles.

I just finished some wrist warmers for my girlfriend. Now I’m making her a matching hat to go with them. Then the package can be on its way.

Petra, I really like your colorful hat, too. It’s just right for a boy. And the color combination couldn’t be better. By the way, my husband loves big pom-poms, too. I actually knitted a hat like that for him once. I’ve had the pom-pom maker for a long time, and I have to say, it’s just great. I can make any pom-pom with it, big or small.

I wish you all a cozy Third Sunday of Advent. We’re heading over to see some friends in a little while.

December Projects 2022, Part 2: the Crazypatterns Crafting Group

Oh wow, Ines, your grandson is already turning one? It feels like he was just born a few weeks ago. I can’t believe how fast time has flown by. This is going to be a wonderful time for you to really enjoy as a grandma. The little ones learn something new every day—it’s really exciting to watch. You’re also lucky that he lives close by.

I’ve now finished another Christmas gift—a hat for a friend. I’m still working on some wrist warmers; she’ll be getting those, too. She’s a special friend whom we’ve known for a very long time and who’s been there for us so many times when we needed her. Of course, the same goes the other way around.

Here’s what the hat looks like—these are her colors. The yarn changes colors on its own. You can wear the hat as a beanie or in other ways.

Next week, Linja’s sweater should finally be finished. If I can manage it, my son will also get wrist warmers and my daughter-in-law will get a hat. We usually only give Christmas gifts to the kids, but a surprise like this is sure to be well-received.

Have a relaxing third Sunday of Advent with your loved ones—including Josefa.

Steffi, your blanket is really something to behold. I admire your patience. The pattern looks absolutely amazing. If I crocheted that much, I’d already be having problems with my wrist. I always need to take a break. It’s different with knitting.

Oh, Ines, your set turned out so adorable. It’s really a shame that your daughter doesn’t appreciate handcrafts that much. It’s terrible that you’re being attacked like this, especially since you can’t even contact the authors. I had no idea you could post comments here without being logged in. I’d report it to CP Support, just like Josefa already suggested.

Josefa, you must have a long workday if you’re reading all these comments here. Wow! I imagine that’s pretty exhausting. After all, you have a personal life outside of CP, too.

Have a wonderful weekend too, everyone!

It’s supposed to snow here; it already started today. But we’re meeting up with friends on Sunday, so I hope the snow from above will take a break then, please.

Tomorrow I’m planning to bake cookies, and I absolutely have to keep knitting my granddaughter’s sweater.

With this baby jacket and the matching hat, a doll baby (43–50 cm) is dressed just as sweetly as a real baby. The jacket is knitted top down with raglan shaping and is fully buttoned at the side.

Everything is clearly explained in the pattern. Some knitting experience is recommended.

This sweater is the same size and is knitted in a similar way. However, it has a side button placket, making it easy to pull over the head. The sweater—and the baby jacket as well—fit not only dolls measuring 43–50 cm, but also premature babies or small newborns.

Oh my, everyone, you’ve been incredibly busy. I can’t even keep up anymore. I’m in the middle of Christmas stress right now because there’s still so much to finish. That’s why I’ll keep it short today...

Marion has been test-knitting again. I really love the colors of her shawls. I’m totally thrilled.

Petra, your wrist warmers look great. If I were making them, I’d knit them in a lighter color. Your embroidery turned out pretty, too. I wouldn’t have the patience for that right now.

Anja, you’re making some pretty things with your needles—keep it up. Your wrist warmers would be right up my alley. And that slip-stitch pattern, too.

Steffi, your cookie Christmas tree wouldn’t last long at our house. It looks way too delicious. Your blanket—amazing! And your crafts, too. I really admire that. Your Murphy is really cute—he looks so cuddly.

Marlene, the pattern and color of your stole—I love both. I love knitting that pattern, too.

Andrea, your duck turned out absolutely adorable. If my granddaughter saw it, she’d adopt it right away.

I just finished the last doll jumpsuit. Little Star won’t have to freeze anymore. Marion gets to test-knit again. I’m already excited to see her results.

Make warm clothing now + everything that keeps you warm

A baby needs to be dressed warmly and comfortably. When crawling and kicking, they need plenty of freedom of movement. These leggings made from sock yarn meet all the requirements, because they adapt to every movement. Even the thickest diaper fits in here with plenty of room.

The leggings are easy to knit if you have knitting experience. A Christmas gift that brings joy. The leggings even grow with the child up to age 2.

Go to the knitting pattern here.

Small teddy bears (25–30 cm) will also appreciate warm clothing. This sweater is knitted with raglan shaping from the bottom up. It fits easily over a teddy bear’s head and is quickly knitted from leftover yarn.

Advanced crafters: Shop exciting projects now.

Toddlers with a tricycle, balance bike, or Puky will be delighted to get a bag for the handlebars. They can collect lots of treasures along the way, and even their little stuffed animal can come along for the ride.

The bag is simply hung on the handlebars. It has a double bottom and can take quite a bit, since the crochet pattern also makes it very sturdy. In our family, the bag lasted through two grandchildren and was even passed on afterward.

You can find the crochet pattern here.

Every big or little doll mom will be happy about doll clothes. Maybe you’re one yourself—just like me.

This romper is knitted top-down with raglan shaping. It fits dolls and also teddies measuring 43–50 cm. Colorful leftover yarn can be put to great use here.

A gift with heart and from the heart - that’s what these washcloths or potholders are. This little detail always brings a smile to your face, because it visibly comes with lots of love.

You can knit the cloth as a potholder, washcloth, or dishcloth. You decide that by the thickness of the cotton. You can knit from a stitch chart, which is very easy. The pattern also contains no abbreviations and is written simply.

December Projects 2022 + November Projects 2022, Part 2: the Crazypatterns Craft Group

Well, I’m back again, marveling at your new projects. They’re all beautiful!

Petra, your stollen looks delicious—it’s making my mouth water. I’m also planning to make wrist warmers for a friend for Christmas. Your little preview already looks great. I’m sure you’ll show us more soon, right?

Steffi, your blanket is going to be a dream! I might like that one, too. Maybe I’ll make something like that someday, too. Right now I have so many projects lined up before Christmas that I need almost every minute.

Anja, keep at it with your rug. You’re already pretty far along. Keep at it, and you’ll be happy with the result.

Ruth, thank you so much for your feedback on the doll overalls. It’s interesting that so far everyone’s raving about the one with the dark red legs. I like the two-tone one better. It’s just a matter of taste. The larger one, which will be finished soon, will be in completely different colors. Let yourself be surprised.

Andrea, I wish you a relaxing vacation with plenty of time for all the things that bring you joy.

I have to hurry now to get all the requests finished by Christmas. My little granddaughter has asked for a doll that can pee and close its eyes. As her grandma—who’s a doll mom herself—I’m naturally in charge of that. I’ve ordered the doll, and I’ll show it to you later. So cute! Of course, she’ll need clothes, too, since she only comes with a onesie and will get cold. As you can see, I never run out of work.

Have a wonderful day, everyone, and enjoy your needles and yarn.

Color-mix crafts / color-gradient crafts: really exciting—and not just for Christmas patterns

These doll jackets were knitted with yarn consisting of a colorful mix of shades. The advantage of this is that it pairs very well with solid-colored yarn. In this example, I knitted the hat and the edges of the jackets using a shade included in the color mix.

The jacket is knitted with raglan sleeves starting from the top. Both pieces are easy to recreate using the pattern. The clothing fits dolls measuring 35–40 cm.

New Knitting Patterns December 2022: Start Knitting Now

These 6 different washcloths are quick and easy to knit. They’re perfect as last-minute gifts. Each one has a different pattern, so they’re easy to tell apart. As an added bonus, you’ll discover new patterns here that you can also use for other knitting projects—such as blankets, pillows, sweaters, jackets, and much more.

Of course, the washcloths can also be knitted as dish towels or pot holders. There are no limits to your imagination.

Cotton scraps are more than enough. I used recycled cotton yarn with a length of 125 m/50 g. Each washcloth weighs about 30 g.

My goodness, how time flies

What a beautiful pyramid you have, Sina. Wow, and you built it yourself, too. I really admire that kind of thing.

Your Christmas tableware, Andrea, is also top-notch. I love and cherish things like that very much, too.

Yes, I’ve known that saying—“My, how time flies”—ever since I was a child myself. We say it very often, too, when we see the now-grown-up kids on our street. We still remember some of them from when they were babies and were just learning to walk. Today they drive cars. A little girl next door used to ride her Bobby Car down the street as a toddler, and now she’s almost of legal age and smokes in secret.

Of course, this also shows us how time flies for us as well—and that we’re no longer as young and spry as we were 22 years ago, when we moved into this street. Back then, I still had my secretarial job.

In a little over a year, I’ll be 7 times 10 years old. Oh dear, I’m only slowly getting used to that idea. Oh well. Life is fun, and I have much more time for crafts these days. And I like that. :))

How can a designer decide whether something is for beginners, advanced crocheters, or pros?

Hi Sina,

when I see the label “suitable for beginners,” I assume that the necessary skills are already in place. I just imagine what it was like for me as a beginner. What would I have been able to manage, and what would have been too much for me?

With knitting, for example, there are complicated things like knitting cables or other stitches that make beginners twist their fingers. ;-) At least that’s how it was for me back when I was starting out. Or if the pattern contains a lot of abbreviations that a beginner might not necessarily be able to figure out right away. Then, for me, it’s “suitable for advanced knitters.”

Just go by your own experience and ask yourself: Would this pattern have made sense to me when I was just starting out? Then you’ll be able to judge for sure.

Have a wonderful first Sunday of Advent, and best regards
Monika

Well, I’m back here again and have something new to show. Yes, I’m in a bit of a gift-giving rush because I only give handmade gifts. There’s still quite a bit to finish.

Steffi, you’re so hardworking and versatile. You’ve made some beautiful things again. Your mosaics are amazing!

Andrea, regarding your question about which yarn I’m using for the washcloths: it’s the recycled cotton from Drops. It works well for this and washes up great, too. I hope you get well soon so you can fully enjoy your favorite hobby again.

Ruth, your decoration looks very pretty. Another lovely idea from you.

I’ve now finished the winter overalls for two of my doll babies. They look sooo cute in them. The only one missing is Sternchen—she’ll get one too.

And my 6 washcloths are finished, too. Here are the last two patterns:

A quick crochet project that’s also suitable for beginners and can be crocheted from leftover yarn—that’s what you’ve found with this pretty tissue box cover. I’ve given it as a gift many times, and it was always happily received.

Cardboard boxes with paper tissues are more sustainable than plastic packaging. A box like that looks much prettier when it’s covered with this lovely decoration. Then it can even sit on the dining table.

Small doll babies (43–50 cm) can be dressed just as cutely as real babies. But this summer outfit also looks great on doll children, as I’ve just seen in the gallery. The top is knitted from the top down using raglan sleeves. You’ll have a lot of fun knitting this set—consisting of a sweater, pants, and headband—especially when you imagine the sparkling eyes of a doll mom who’s absolutely thrilled with this gift.

It’s a great project for knitters with some experience.

Even small teddy bears (25–30 cm) can be dressed up just as nicely as dolls—for example, with these overalls. They don’t have any buttons but are still easy to put on and take off. How about knitting this Christmas gift and placing it under the tree for a teddy bear owner or a doll mom? All you need is some leftover yarn, and you can get started right away.

I’m new here

Welcome, RechteMasche :)
We’re glad you found your way here.

Of course, everyone is welcome to introduce themselves—we authors love getting to know our customers a little better. Most of the activity here is probably in German. But there are also posts in other languages. You can find those in the overview.

When you post in a forum thread, you can check the box under the post that says “Notify me when there’s a reply.” Then you’ll get an email as soon as someone replies.

You can ask for advice on general questions, but not on patterns purchased outside of Crazypatterns.

For the patterns you buy here, you can always ask the author who wrote the pattern for help. This is a service that customers on Crazypatterns really appreciate.

I hope you have fun knitting and finding the pattern you like.
