Pretty and useful things for  the kitchen and home  can always be crocheted in between from your leftover yarn. Then you’ll always have a small gift or little present on hand when you need one.

Hobby sewists are sure to be delighted by this funny cactus pincushion. It’s very easy to crochet from leftover yarn. That way you’ll always have your pins right at hand, and the cactus also looks decorative in the sewing room or on the windowsill even when no sewing is being done.

The polar bear and penguin potholders go especially well in a wintry kitchen. They are crocheted using the tapestry technique, so there are no floats on the back or inside. This means you can crochet the potholders double, so you can slip your hand inside, but also single-layer, because the back looks “nice” too.

You can crochet wonderful dish sponges from sponge yarn, and they look very decorative in the kitchen and bathroom. Here, for example, is afish dish sponge, which also works well in the bathroom as a shower or exfoliating sponge. Since it can be washed in the washing machine, it’s always quickly ready to use again.

Even as a crochet beginner, you can crochet these pretty Christmas stars. They are quick to make and you only need leftover yarn. They can be used in many different ways.

The stars can be used as tree ornaments, table decorations, gift tags, or appliqués.

If you are still looking for a gift for a toddler, why not crochet this bag with contents for them? It definitely belongs in every play shop. Filled with lemons and carrots, it will bring a sparkle to children’s eyes.

The bag and its contents are very easy to crochet, even for beginners. A few colorful scraps are more than enough here, too.

The Lucky Soap Saver is perfect as a quick little gift for St. Nicholas Day or Christmas. It’s super quick to crochet and a pretty accessory for the bathroom. Just add a soothing bar of soap, and thanks to the sponge yarn you can enjoy a lovely exfoliating effect in the shower. Alternatively, the soap saver can also be crocheted using thicker cotton yarn (suitable for hook size 4).

This blanket is crocheted in continuous rounds. You can choose the size individually—as long as there is yarn, you keep crocheting.

After a few rounds, the pattern repeats and is then also suitable for crocheting while watching TV. In the pattern, the design is explained in writing, and I have also included a crochet chart.

If you have less knitting time on the weekend, a new hat. is a good choice. This model can be knitted in 8 sizes—maybe as a Christmas gift for grandpa and grandchild?

Reversible Cowl Sofia
It is knitted with just 100 g of yarn with a yardage of 320 m per 100 g. Since it is knitted only with knit and purl stitches, it can be worn on both sides.

Matching the cowl, there are wrist warmers and a headband:

These can also be worn on both sides and are super quick to knit.
