I’m new here

Hello forum members,

I recently discovered this site and still need a little help finding my way around. The forum rules say you’re allowed to introduce yourself—or is that only for authors? I’ve already knitted a few things, but I’m still a beginner. After a long break, I’d like to start a bigger project again.

I see that you can choose from different languages here. Which language has the most activity in the forums—or do all languages mix together here?
Can I get notifications for new forum threads on new topics?
Can I also ask for advice here on patterns that aren’t from this site?

You have some really beautiful patterns here—I can’t even decide which one to choose.

You can get help from the authors here, but only for the patterns that are sold here and from the respective author. You can also contact the pattern author directly.

Personally, I think the German forum is the most active.

We’re glad you found your way here.

Of course, everyone is welcome to introduce themselves—we authors love getting to know our customers a little better. Most of the activity here is probably in German. But there are also posts in other languages. You can find those in the overview.

When you post in a forum thread, you can check the box under the post that says “Notify me when there’s a reply.” Then you’ll get an email as soon as someone replies.

You can ask for advice on general questions, but not on patterns purchased outside of Crazypatterns.

For the patterns you buy here, you can always ask the author who wrote the pattern for help. This is a service that customers on Crazypatterns really appreciate.

I hope you have fun knitting and finding the pattern you like.

The help section is very comprehensive; it’s already helped me a lot. Maybe I overlooked it, but what does “average” mean here? In the patterns, under “Characteristics,” a “DS” is listed. Is that the thickness of the thread or of the finished piece?
