First of all, I’d like to thank you, dear Sandra, for your post here. :-) And as a buyer, I completely agree with that.

Dear Susann,
I also bought your Seppl, simply because I fell in love with it. And it was absolutely worth the price to me. When I saw the scope of the pattern… wow… the amount of work that went into it, the attention to detail, and above all, how much time! For that, the price is still a bargain.

From my perspective, I can recommend that you not let comments like that get to you. Yes, it hurts. But just ignore them. It’s just one person’s point of view—not even a customer’s, as you write. Because if they were, they’d know the value is much higher.

Most customers aren’t even aware of the points Michaela has compiled. I think it’s great that she mentions this and brings it to people’s attention.

When I buy a magazine for 5–6 euros that might have a pattern I like—one that’s also very general and brief—I spend the money without batting an eye. I’ve switched to buying patterns only from the authors themselves—specifically here. That’s worth much more to me. And I’m more than happy to pay the price for it.

Since I’ve been putting a lot of my own ideas into practice lately, I unfortunately don’t have time to work through all the patterns I’ve bought. But who knows—maybe I’ll run out of ideas for a while someday... ;-)

So far, I’ve followed Nina’s approach with my own patterns. However, I’m not sure if it’s really true that a lower price attracts more buyers. Because when I like something, I buy it, no matter how expensive it is.

If I had a pattern that required as much effort as Seppl, it would cost just as much as yours, Susann. So don’t worry about an opinion you don’t have to share. By the way... every successful person has critics. I guess that’s just part of it. ;-)

I have several UFOs, including a larger project. Now I can finally finish them. It’s a cardigan I started back in the summer and that I really need to finish by the weekend. But I also have other UFOs...

Well, what can I say—Josefa’s trap worked on me, too. ;-)
I actually ended up here via Google and was really surprised by everything there is to discover here.

What impressed me most was that patterns by independent authors are sold here. Because I didn’t like the usual brief patterns I’d found everywhere else at all. Sometimes I couldn’t even figure them out.

What a joy it was when I tried out the first free pattern here. Everything was explained step by step, and even with photos. I was absolutely thrilled.

And as is often the case with yarn addicts, I couldn’t hold back and bought… and bought. Of all those purchases, I’ve only actually made a very small fraction so far. Everything is sitting nice and neat on my computer.

Because… it suddenly occurred to me that I could write these kinds of patterns myself. It’s just a shame that I didn’t start until March. Because from November 2016 until then, I’d brought a lot of ideas to life and turned them into knitted items for my 6-month-old granddaughter.

I have to say, I’m really happy to have ended up here. I absolutely love bringing my crochet and knitting ideas to life and sharing them here in detailed patterns.  

And what I really appreciate is the truly helpful and wonderful atmosphere here in the forum. Someone from the CP team is always there when needed. I especially enjoy Josefa’s posts. She does an incredible amount for us here.

For us, Christmas is a celebration of joy and love. That’s why we focus on relaxing—no obligations like Christmas roasts, mandatory visits, or the usual fuss. We spend Christmas with people we love, not just those who get together for the holiday. This has worked out really well for us over the past few years. Every Christmas has been completely different and wonderful.

Interesting conversations, playing games (without phones!), a cozy coffee get-together, listening attentively to each other, and yes, even a little knitting or crocheting for those who like it.

What this year will be like… who knows. It’s always decided on the spur of the moment and has a real element of surprise. :-)

Each morning, the amazement was enormous, because...

Once upon a time, there were two knitting needles. These knitting needles had magical powers...

Oh dear, where are we going to put them all? What on earth am I going to cook? And most importantly, what are we going to give them as gifts? Or should I just cancel on them?

What makes them special: They’re knitted in one piece from top to bottom - entirely with a circular needle! If you like, you can of course also use a set of double-pointed needles for the legs. 

I used a yarn with 65% virgin wool and 35% alpaca here. But any sock yarn can also be used for this.
