Lace Patterns

The lace pattern in this scarf is wonderful too, because you’ll be amazed at how it’s knitted. In a completely different way than traditional lace patterns. A tutorial shows you how.

You can find the pattern here.

Lace Patterns

So if you’re looking for a gorgeous lace pattern, I have one. Actually, two, to be exact—both worked into this triangular shawl. You can use contrasting colors like in my shawl, or knit it in a single color.
You’ll need sock-weight yarn (yarn requirements depend on the desired size) and 4mm knitting needles. The pattern is written out in full and also presented in knitting charts.

Get well soon, Heike! Hopefully your arm will be better soon! Do you think it’s from crocheting?

Collecting leftover yarn for the February campaign / Turning Scraps into Treasures

Are we actually supposed to use only leftover yarn for the entire month of February, or can we work on other projects as well?

Collecting leftover yarn for the February campaign / Turning Scraps into Treasures

Oh, I’ll definitely manage to use up a few leftover bits of yarn. But I can’t guarantee that I’ll turn into a “Reste-Beste” with them. There are surely some more eager candidates out there :-)

Yarn diet until the end of January + UFO week from January 24–31 + Show off your January projects

Everything loads fine for me, but it just takes a while. I clear my cache regularly—it gets deleted automatically when I close the browser. But I can live with it; it’s not like I’m turning away in horror because of it :-)
Personally, I notice it in threads with lots of pictures, like advertising threads, for example, and I think it has something to do with file sizes. Some users or even authors upload larger images than others, and for those, it takes longer for the images to appear. That’s just my guess....

Triangular Shawls and Stoles: Shop Now

A stole in a brioche pattern is wonderfully soft - the “double” stitches make sure of that. The knitted fabric drapes beautifully and is simply cozy. I like brioche patterns :-) It’s also relaxing to knit. If you’ve never tried it before, the pattern includes a photo tutorial.

You can find out more about it here.

Triangular Shawls and Stoles: Shop Now

A triangular shawl with a bit of a twist is this shawl with a jagged edge. What makes it special is that it is knitted from the bottom point upward. Apart from that, though, it is a very easy shawl to knit, looks especially good in sock yarns, but can basically be knitted in any yarn you like. The size is also up to you. When you don’t want to continue or the yarn runs out, you simply stop.

You can find the pattern here.

Top 3 patterns: Irresistibly good. You’ve got to have these.

My bestseller is still this shawl, which is knitted from exactly one skein of sock yarn. A simple and relaxing pattern that you can easily knit on the side, too.

You can find the pattern for it here.

As number 2, I have this summer scarf on offer. I know, it’s not summer, but hopefully it will come back. Also easy to knit, and the thick cotton yarn guarantees a quick sense of achievement, too.

You can find the pattern here

And then we come to number 3: a knitted stole with a charming lace pattern.

You can find it here.

You’ve all been so hard at work again. Great blanket and bags, Arni and Mowi! And I’m also looking forward to seeing the sock yarn heart.
I took some photos today, too. My shawl is finished. I knitted up 680 meters of yarn.

After Work + Weekend: Time for a New Craft Project

Since Valentine’s Day isn’t far off either, you can already start preparing for that too. For example, with a little knitted heart pouch in which you can wrap small things. For this, you’ll need leftover sock yarn. If one of those could be red, that would suit me just fine :-)

You can find the pattern here.

After Work + Weekend: Time for a New Craft Project

This scarf is also wonderful to knit on the side. What makes it special is that it is knitted diagonally, which also shows off colorful gradient yarns beautifully. A simple lace border gives it that certain something.

You can find the pattern here.

After Work + Weekend: Time for a New Craft Project

Did you sleep well? Good! Then you can take on a new knitting project now. You often never know exactly what the weekend will bring—will relatives drop by, or will the kids want to do something? I suggest making the project something relaxing that you can set aside at any time. An infinity scarf, for example. You really don’t have to think much for that.
What you need for it is sock yarn in two colors and a 4 mm circular knitting needle. The infinity scarf is knitted as a long tube in rounds, making it a wonderfully cozy neck warmer that can also be used on both sides.

You can find the pattern here.

Weekend Plans: What would you like to do?

Yesterday I was out on another hospital tour, so I was pretty worn out by the evening. Now I’m hoping for a cozy weekend of crafts. Maybe I’ll even find the time to take a few photos and write up a pattern...

2018: How’s it going so far?

Things have calmed down a bit. If all goes well, my mom will be coming home from the hospital on Friday. We’ll see. I’m not really in the right frame of mind for complicated crafts right now, so everything I’m making is pretty simple. But I’ve finished a shawl pattern; I’m having it tested now before it’s published.

Handmade Baby Clothes + Handmade Baby Toys

A little baby hat is quick to knit. This one is inspired by the fairy tale of Rapunzel and has braids running lengthwise. You’ll need yarn (yardage 150 m per 50 g) in two different colors and 4 mm needles. The pattern is available in 3 sizes.

Here’s the hat.

Which yarn goes well with mine???

Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with this yarn, so I can’t really judge it. It certainly looks very nice!
My yarn shop owner once told me that Noro yarns are surface-treated with a kind of wax. That’s why they feel a bit stiff at first. But that goes away after the first wash. I can confirm this—I tried it with Silk Garden. It didn’t turn out quite as soft as pure merino wool, though. Merino wool can be a nice contrast if you want to achieve a different texture.
But take all this with a grain of salt, because, as I said, I’ve never worked with your yarn before.

The “Emmental” set includes a hat, scarf and arm warmers, all with a pattern that is a bit reminiscent of Swiss cheese – hence the name. Everything is knitted in sock yarn. The holes are made in a very special way, which is explained in a photo tutorial. There are also knitting charts to help you recreate it.

The set can be found here.

The hat and infinity scarf are available from me as a bundle. Both have the same pattern and are knitted from sock yarn. Not necessarily suitable for absolute beginners, but not really that difficult either.

This way to the bundle.

In bright red, this infinity scarf is knitted in soft merino wool. A wonderful accessory for chilly winter days! The pattern is easy and works up very quickly, too.

Red, Rose, and Pink: the Girls’ Thread

For girls who are young at heart but have already reached adult size, I recommend a cozy, soft shawl to wrap yourself in on cool spring or summer evenings. It’s very easy to knit—it’s made entirely of knit stitches. You can knit the shawl in any size you like—when you think it’s big enough, you simply stop.

You can find the pattern here.

Red, Rose, and Pink: the Girls’ Thread

With teenage girls, it’s sometimes hard to know whether they still wear pink. It could be that it’s not quite so cool anymore. In that case, you can of course knit the hat in another color. Because the hat itself is definitely cool!

Here’s the pattern.
