Dear users, dear authors,
the Turning Scraps into Treasures project runs from February 1 to 28. If you gather up your leftover yarn in January, you can really get started right on the 1st.

Here’s all the information about the project
Turning Scraps into Treasures // UFO Week February 21–28 // Yarn Diet // all February projects

How is your leftover yarn doing at the moment?
Will you have enough time in February to use it up?

Let me know.

Oh, I’ll definitely manage to use up a few leftover bits of yarn. But I can’t guarantee that I’ll turn into a “Reste-Beste” with them. There are surely some more eager candidates out there :-)

If you can convince me that you’ve given it a serious try and that you’ve bravely stuck with it, then I’ll name you a “Reste-Beste.”

Are we actually supposed to use only leftover yarn for the entire month of February, or can we work on other projects as well?

As long as you consistently work through your leftovers and make good progress there, you can also use up whole skeins along the way. But your leftover box or basket should become noticeably emptier.

Oh, I emptied my leftover box of little balls of yarn this month to make a door wreath for a friend.

Does this still count if I use new yarn and incorporate some larger leftover pieces as well? Then I’ll gather everything together this weekend. I’ve been wanting to make new seat covers for my car for a while now, but I only bought enough yarn for one seat cover. I thought I’d make it really colorful and incorporate some leftover yarn into it.

Yep, that applies too. :-)

I was so clever. I placed 8 moving boxes right in front of the closet with my leftover yarn. :-( I just unpacked 5 boxes, set the rest aside, and freed my leftover yarn.
Now I’m finishing another jacket for Anton with my diet yarn. I already have an idea what to do with the leftovers.

.....I’d like to give it a try too. Do I have to take a “before and after” picture of my leftover yarn box?????????

You don’t have to, but photos are a great idea.

I’m in for the leftover challenge. I won’t be finishing my little UFOs just yet; I’d rather save them for the February leftover project. I actually started this back in January and am still working through my “yarn diet” and leftover yarn.

The “yarn diet” continues into February, and I’ll be using up plenty more leftovers then.

I spent the weekend rummaging through the boxes in the attic. I found quite a bit that I want to use for my seat covers. We’ll see if it’s enough.
I bought the new yarn back in November for the new car—to add a little color to it.

....color-wise, it all goes together pretty well. I’m curious to see how it turns out.....

So, I’ve picked out a few skeins. Let’s see how far I get.

Here is my leftover yarn; there are also some single skeins among it. I want to use up as much of it as possible.

It starts tomorrow. I hope you’re ready.
February is going to be a great month for crafts. It would be great if you could free up plenty of time. :-)

Hi,
is it still possible to join in here? I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to do. I have a little one here who often keeps me busy. But I’d love to crochet little things for Easter and the little ones around us and reduce my inherited leftover yarn.
How does this work here? With before-and-after pictures?
Best regards
