Neon green is trending: Do you like it?

I’ll gladly admit it too, Ina — that makes two of us. I simply love these neon colors, especially combined with black stripes. I also still have some of that fringe yarn in neon colors. But I use it as hair for my clown heads.
Neon colors also work really well for crocheted bags or crochet figures, like in Ina’s doll clothes.
A strong, bright splash of color like that is just wonderful. I love those rainbow colors too.

Felix, the Little Foundling Bear - a story for all stuffed-animal fans

That’s a really beautiful story, written so lovingly—even as an adult, you could easily imagine yourself in that situation, as if you were part of the story yourself. I think it’s really great.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any of my old stuffed animals from back then anymore, but the doll I got when
I was 9 still exists. She just needs a few new things.

Hardworking little helpers: What are you working on right now?

I’m currently crocheting my RvO sweater. It’s a bigger project. I really need to
work through my yarn stash.
However, crocheting the rows isn’t exactly “flying by” with over 300 stitches. The cake yarn I had in mind for it might be enough. But I realized too late that one skein is 4-ply, and the rest are 3-ply. I’ll probably have to improvise and alternate rows so the sweater
isn’t thicker at the top than at the bottom. I wanted to finish this project by May because I’d like to wear this sweater on vacation. We’ll see how that goes.
I haven’t taken a photo yet.

January Projects: Kicking Off with the Popular Title Highlights

I’d also like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, good luck and good health, and plenty of new
ideas for your crochet and knitting projects.

A “yarn diet” sounds good. So I’m back on board, and I want to test myself to see how long I can keep it up.
I did get some Christmas yarn, but starting this year, I want to slowly
work through my yarn stash (there are three personal reasons for this).

So let’s get started :-)

Winter or Spring?

Welcome to the club, Anja—yeah, I know what you mean.
But of course I like winter when it’s dry and cold and comes with sunshine.
I really don’t like that kind of wet, dreary weather at all.
In spring, everything starts to bloom, and when it gets warmer, you can sit outside—I love that.

Every season has its pros and cons. You just have to make the best of it.

How do you decorate your Christmas tree?

Your Christmas trees all look so different and yet wonderful. Each in its own way, with memories from childhood.
Yes, I know that too, with those strands of tinsel in gold and silver. They were always carefully put back together for the following year; they were expensive too and not always available, I think.

At our house it changes from time to time. When we had our first Christmas here in Norway, of course we got a real Nordmann fir. Then sometimes a small regular little tree, sometimes illuminated sticks in a tall glass vase. Since our children are grown up and it's just the two of us, we decided on a small artificial tree, or little tree. Colorful lights are definitely a must, and various decorations too, including those red bead garlands.
We once bought the large Christmas baubles for the big tree, but of course they're useless for the small little tree, so I hung them at the bottom on the Christmas wreath. The little tree stands in the middle of the wreath, which makes it look a bit fuller. It's enough for us.
Here are the pictures now (photos are mine). But I use this tinsel garland, otherwise it looks so bare.

My husband once gave me the Santa Claus, and he is a must at Christmas; I just think he's absolutely fantastic.

And just like that, both little knitters were full of enthusiasm and set to work on a long knitted cord.
It would go perfectly around the heart-shaped pillow, as a symbol of their love.

Advent Calendar 2018: here, online, in the forum, by you for you

I also found a great quick recipe for honey cake (in Norwegian: Krydderkake).
It’s quick to make and tastes super delicious. I’ve already baked 2 of them.

Ingredients: for 2 small loaf pans or 1 large loaf pan
- 250 g flour
- 1/2 packet baking powder
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon you can also give these ingredients as a gift (for a 580 ml jar)
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves layer them one after another in the jar, do not press down
- 1/2 tsp baking cocoa
- 100 g brown sugar

You will also need:

- 100 g soft butter
- 150 g liquid honey
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml cold milk
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 2 to 3 tbsp lemon juice

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Grease the pan

Beat the butter, honey, and eggs until creamy, then alternately stir in the baking mix and cold milk.
Bake everything for 50 min.
Let cool, and spread with icing

good luck and enjoy

How about some pom-poms?
That’s when everyone first noticed that a certain yarn tool was missing—namely, the pom-pom maker.
Where on earth could it be hiding?

Weekend Plans: What Are You Up To?

I’ve had a few days off. I have to work on Saturday, but I’m off on Sunday.
I’ll be working on my Tapestry crochet bag then. Other than that, I’ll just be relaxing and having a cozy

Bastelfan’s birthday // free patterns as a gift

That’s so sweet of all of you—thank you for the birthday wishes.
We have a long weekend this time, and we’re really enjoying it—sleeping in. A nice breakfast
with rolls, eggs, and salmon, a cozy evening, and of course a little alcohol with
some snacks.

So thanks again to everyone here, and to CP and the forum—it’s just great being here with all of you.
