It’s already December 2, but I’ll get started now:
Many of you are probably baking cookies. Here’s a recipe for you:

Bethmännchen
  • 600 g marzipan paste
  • 2 eggs
  • 160 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • A few whole, peeled almonds
  • Egg yolk
Knead the marzipan, eggs, powdered sugar, flour, and ground almonds into a smooth dough. Shape the dough into small balls, press 4 halved almonds into each ball, brush the tops with egg yolk, and bake at 200 degrees until light golden brown.

Enjoy!

I also found a great quick recipe for honey cake (in Norwegian: Krydderkake).
It’s quick to make and tastes super delicious. I’ve already baked 2 of them.

Ingredients: for 2 small loaf pans or 1 large loaf pan
- 250 g flour
- 1/2 packet baking powder
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon you can also give these ingredients as a gift (for a 580 ml jar)
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves layer them one after another in the jar, do not press down
- 1/2 tsp baking cocoa
- 100 g brown sugar

You will also need:

- 100 g soft butter
- 150 g liquid honey
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml cold milk
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 2 to 3 tbsp lemon juice

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Grease the pan

Beat the butter, honey, and eggs until creamy, then alternately stir in the baking mix and cold milk.
Bake everything for 50 min.
Let cool, and spread with icing

good luck and enjoy

Today, for December 4, I’d like to show you a knitting pattern. Maybe for a cowl, scarf, sweater, or baby blanket? It can certainly be used in many ways.

The wrong side rows are knitted as the stitches appear. The pattern repeat is worked over 10 stitches. It is always expanded by 6 stitches.

Row 1:
We knit 4 purl stitches, 2 knit stitches alternately
Row 2: Wrong side row as the stitches appear (4 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches)
Repeat rows 1 + 2
Row 5: We knit knit stitches only

Row 6: We knit purl stitches only
Row 7: The pattern is shifted by 2 stitches. We start with 1 purl stitch, 2 knit stitches, 4 purl stitches, 2 knit stitches, and so on.
Row 8: Knit the stitches as they appear

Repeat rows 7 + 8
Row 11: We knit knit stitches only
Row 12: We knit purl stitches only

Rows 13 to 22 are knitted like rows 1 to 12

I hope you have fun trying out the pattern and have a lovely Advent season.

@WollwunderPetra,
You know I have to ask. Do the text and images belong to you?

Yes. The text and images are mine. Next time, if another day is still available for me, I’ll mention it right away.

It would be great if you—or all of you—could always write that here in the thread as well.

I’m giving you this photo as a gift. I took it myself, and you’re welcome to download and use it for your own purposes.

Since the coffee from the Christmas party is keeping me awake, I’m taking this opportunity to show you the gift I gave my fellow group leader. She was thrilled.

I wish everyone a wonderful St. Nicholas Day and boots full of treats.

Best regards, Marlies

I’m posting the Advent calendar again:

Today, on the second Sunday of Advent, I’m showing you a picture of my nativity figures, which I sculpted over 40 years ago out of self-drying modeling clay. My husband then built the stable to go with them.

For some reason, the image didn’t show up. I hope it works now.

Marlies, that’s absolutely adorable, what you’ve crocheted there. :)
Ruth, your nativity scene looks really beautiful too. :)
Thank you both!

I have another really delicious and, above all, quick Christmas recipe for you. It’s a staple at my house every year, and everyone loves it. We just had it fresh on our plates.

Quick Sheet Pan Gingerbread

350 g whole-grain spelt flour
150 g raw cane sugar or honey
200 g ground hazelnuts (they taste even better toasted)
4–5 tsp gingerbread spice
1 packet cream of tartar baking powder
a little vanilla (or vanilla sugar)
1/4 liter milk (or almond milk)
150 g melted or very soft butter (or organic Alsan)
4 eggs (or egg substitute)

Mix everything together well with a mixer and spread the mixture onto a baking sheet.
Place in a cold oven and bake at 180 degrees for 15–20 minutes.

Let cool, then coat with chocolate glaze.

Variation: You can also press whole hazelnuts into the top and bake them along with it.
I cut small pieces from it, each with a hazelnut in the middle.

Bon appétit from Monika
