Hi,

I’m currently working on a table runner for our dining room table.
The runner is about 30 cm wide and will be 3.10 m (+/- 5 cm) long.

I’ve already finished most of it. I’ll have it done this week.

I’m thinking about whether I should start on the Easter projects right after that.

Best wishes, Heike

I’m still tinkering with the socks that have a simple heel, and every day I come up with a new idea that I put into practice. On the side, I’m going to keep crocheting a UFO—a little bear.

Hello everyone,

I wish you all a joyful and happy 2019!
I’m currently working on a gift for my coworker! A little ghost bag charm! I’ll probably finish it tonight.
After that, I’m going to knit myself a scarf using my knitting loom. My parents gave me the knitting loom for Christmas, and I love it :)
Normally, I’m not a fan of knitting at all—there are just too many needles. But with the loom, it’s fun and super relaxing after work!!!

@SvenjaV,
Wishing you a wonderful New Year too. :-)
What is the difference between a knitting loom and circular knitting needles?

It’s hard to explain... It’s basically a solid plastic ring with pegs all around it. And you just have a kind of needle that you use to lift the yarn over the pegs, and that’s how the stitches are formed.
You should definitely check it out online!!!

I’m still knitting mini socks, but I plan to finish them today. After that, I’ll move on to the handkerchief pouches. The poncho—the commissioned piece—is just on hold for now…

SvenjaV: Years ago, the knitting loom was my introduction to needlework :D
Then came crochet (it’s only one hook, after all), and by now I even really enjoy knitting. So the number of needles can gradually increase!

I still have some leftover green acrylic yarn that I bought for gifts and Christmas trees. It’s pretty scratchy and doesn’t really go with anything else I usually have on hand. I’m going to use it to make some more Christmas trees… maybe I’ll keep those ones for myself… the trees in the picture have all already been given away.

I’ve also finished my Christmas tree… it was actually done before Christmas, but it hadn’t told me yet how it wanted to be painted. Now, before putting it away for next Christmas, I had an idea… I think it turned out really well.

Claudia, your Christmas tree looks really great.
Did you crochet your little trees using a pattern from here? They
are very pretty.

Today I mended a pair of socks, partly reknitting them, that belong to an acquaintance.

I’m just getting started on my crocheting. We had our company Christmas party today. It was really nice, and the red wine was delicious—and now I’m continuing to work on the door wreath for Anton.

It’s going to be a racing-themed door wreath, and my husband has some pretty strong opinions about what won’t work. I have to change quite a few things in the pattern :-)))) An apple tree or bunnies on the racetrack just won’t do.... Men

Claudia, I think your Christmas tree is absolutely fantastic, too! I’ve never seen anything like it before.

Thanks for the kind words...
@Marion: I crocheted it without a pattern... maybe I’ll make another one for next season....

That just reminded me of the race between the hare and the hedgehog...

@ Josefa
A knitting ring is basically a large knitting dolly. You can use it to knit larger tubular items (scarves, hats, and even socks).

Claudia: That would be a good idea too. But it’s going to be a race car (well, it’s a car—I had to put up with some grumbling about that, and then he ended up with a ball of yarn on his head :-)))), with all the trimmings. Right now I’m designing a checkered flag—it’s part of it. :-)

My husband is the best man there is, but sometimes he’s really exhausting. But I think it’s cute when he tells me what he thinks. After all, he should like the things a little too :-)

Yesterday I sewed myself a vest with a matching shirt; today I’m finishing up my bag, and in the evenings I’m knitting wrist warmers. I also have a silk-viscose blouse cut out and waiting to be sewn.

I’m working on two projects: a crocheted dress and a double-faced sock.

The sock is just a test piece for now, before I start using the sock yarn.

And this is what they look like when wrapped up: on a voucher and with a Merci chocolate!

So far, my practice sock looks like this — I’m still right at the beginning

Interesting idea, CreatOwl, the double-face socks. I really like the colors.

Wollbärli, those little socks are a hit! They’re going to bring a lot of joy—I’m absolutely sure of it.

Thanks for your compliments! Yes, the ladies were happy—it’s just a bit of a bummer that I apparently spoiled them a little and now they have certain expectations! So I’ll have to come up with something new for next year—maybe a little pouch or basket…

I did a nice tidy-up and rummaged through the depths of my treasure chest; I think the stash will last for more than 1 year.
So I won’t be buying any new addictive materials for a while,
which would be a shame if those little treasures didn’t get knitted up.
On the needles: Hutzelsocken (that’s what I call my leftover-yarn socks that I knit for the homeless shelter); every year that makes lots of pairs that keep feet warm there and sometimes also bring a grateful smile.
On the other needles: baby socks, etc. for sale and socks for family
so enough to keep me from getting bored

@Strigg-Grossmami

You seem to be a real sock fan, wow!
I think it’s great that you’re knitting socks for the homeless shelter. They’ll definitely be gratefully received and put to good use there.

I went through my closets the other day... oh my, there’s yarn stashed everywhere. I’m not going to buy any more yarn for several months now. Otherwise, I’ll definitely need a new apartment at some point... *grins*

Best, Monika

Welcome to the club, Monika—let’s see how long we can keep this up.
Unfortunately, I can’t knit big projects like I used to—my joints are just as old as I am and sometimes make that quite clear to me.
That’s why I only knit socks in every size and baby things up to size 80 now. I prefer using size 2.5–3 needles—that way, my joints stay calm and content.
I use the same username on Ravelry—you can check out my photo gallery there.
You have some great patterns in your shop; unfortunately, I don’t have the patience to write patterns myself.
Best wishes, Edith

Hi Edith :)
I also prefer knitting small things, but when I need something for myself, it can be something big now and then.

I only recently got back into knitting socks and am now working out a simple heel solution. Today I knitted my first baby socks this way, and they look really great. I find that knitting socks with a set of double-pointed needles really puts a lot of strain on my wrists. That’s less of an issue for me with larger projects. What I really like here is the Crasy Trio. It’s much easier to work with.

I already managed to stick to "yarn dieting" - as it’s called here - for a few months last year. Then I didn’t have enough of a certain color in my stash for a new project .... well, and then I was a goner again. But now I’ve decided to keep it up again for a few months and reduce my stash a lot. The monthly threads here really help me with that. Maybe you’d like to join in sometime too. I’ve already managed to finish lots of UFOs (unfinished projects) that way. It really is motivating when you’re not doing it alone.;-)

Here is the January thread - take a look, Edith:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/forum/topic/99012/januar-projekte-durchstarten-mit-den-beliebten-titel-highlights

Writing stitch patterns or patterns does require quite a bit of patience and, above all, time. I actually started doing it so that later on I’d be able to knit or crochet my designs again myself. And that really does help me a lot. Well, and then I ended up here.....

Best regards
Monika

I’m currently crocheting my RvO sweater. It’s a bigger project. I really need to
work through my yarn stash.
However, crocheting the rows isn’t exactly “flying by” with over 300 stitches. The cake yarn I had in mind for it might be enough. But I realized too late that one skein is 4-ply, and the rest are 3-ply. I’ll probably have to improvise and alternate rows so the sweater
isn’t thicker at the top than at the bottom. I wanted to finish this project by May because I’d like to wear this sweater on vacation. We’ll see how that goes.
I haven’t taken a photo yet.

Thanks, Monika—I tried it right away
