Time? Sometimes more, sometimes less. It depends on whether I have the day off or have to work.
After work, there isn’t much time left—just a few rounds of crocheting, and that’s it. I’m currently working on two projects at the same time.
One is my sweater, which I want to finish by my May vacation, and the other is my
Easter bunny, which I’m continuing to crochet.
When I have the day off, I can keep crocheting, but with breaks (to do housework).
I’d need another life after this one—there are so many projects I still want to crochet, and my yarn stash just isn’t getting any smaller. Plus, I have to take breaks (to let my hands rest).
I usually crochet in the evening after Anton goes to bed—from about 8 to 11 p.m. Sometimes a little longer, and sometimes I manage to squeeze in an hour or so during the day. So usually 3–4 hours a day, unless we have plans in the evening.
It varies a lot! I usually sit down on the sofa with a craft project after dinner and turn on the TV. In those two to three hours, I can knit or crochet a few rounds.
During the day, there’s usually not much time for crafting. Today, however, while the boys were at school, I was able to spend two hours crocheting my shopping bag, and during my train rides (about an hour each yesterday and today), I managed to add a few centimeters to my second sock.
I spend about 3–4 hours on crafts in the evenings during the week while watching TV, and on weekends sometimes as much as 5–6 hours starting in the afternoon. When I’m writing a pattern, it’s a bit more, but that also involves a lot of photo and text editing.
Since a puppy moved in with us a few weeks ago, I don’t have as much time for crocheting. But when he’s asleep, I like to use that time for it. I’m currently working on a temperature blanket, and in between, I’m crocheting a few Easter decorations. As soon as the little one wakes up, though, I have to put the yarn away first, because all those colorful balls are very tempting. ????
I can’t say exactly how much I craft each day, since I always have a project with me so I can work on it even when I’m out and about. That way, I usually manage to add a row or two on my commute to and from work. At work, during breaks, or when there’s absolutely nothing to do (which has been less common lately), I can also do some crafting, or in the afternoons when I have time off. In the evenings or on weekends, I do more crafting, but I’ve never actually timed it. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes less—it also depends on how I’m feeling at the moment.
