Dear users, dear authors,
How do you celebrate Easter—or do you celebrate it at all?

Well, I have to work on Good Friday; restaurants are open on Good Friday where I live.
On Easter Sunday, my parents and mother-in-law are coming over. If the weather’s nice, we’ll have a barbecue; otherwise, I’ll have to see what we do. We’re getting Anton a Bobby Car. It’s a pretty big gift, but he really needs one. :-)

We haven’t made plans for the rest of the days yet.

I’m not quite sure yet if I’ll have to work on Good Friday, since the holiday for Protestants has been taken away here in Austria. We’ll see what my boss has to say about it. On Easter Sunday, we’ll be at my parents’ house—there’ll be good food and family time. When my son was little, we used to hide Easter eggs and chocolate in the garden, and he had to go look for them, but now that he’s almost 21, he’s obviously too old for that. Now we just put little Easter baskets on the table as gifts—just little treats. The main thing is that we’re all together. Maybe we’ll be able to sit in the garden in the afternoon if the weather’s nice.

For us, Maundy Thursday is already a holiday—I have to work then—and Easter Monday means more money (holiday pay). My husband has time off until Easter Monday. But in exchange, we have Friday through Sunday off together. Of course, that means sleeping in, followed by a hearty, delicious breakfast (with fresh rolls, eggs, salmon, cappuccino...)

Colorfully dyed Easter eggs are a must, of course (my mom sent me special Easter egg dye from Germany—you can’t get it here).
In the afternoon, we’ll have homemade cake with whipped cream.

Depending on the weather here (there’s still some snow in places), we’ll either go for a walk or sit out on the patio—I can crochet there wonderfully, and my husband can pursue his hobby (riding his bike or motorcycle, or tinkering with them).
No stress—just taking it easy. We don’t have any visitors planned.
