If you type zigzag knitting pattern into Google, you’ll get a few suggestions.
Under Images , there are lots to see as well. You can even watch a video on YouTube .
If you don’t have a pattern, you should knit based on your existing jacket. You could count the stitches and recreate it.

If you're a beginner, this blanket might not be the best choice for you. It consists of 100 individual granny squares that you then have to sew together.
Why don't you take a look at some videos on YouTube? You're sure to find some that show you how to crochet granny squares.

Maybe that will help you.

I'm still crocheting and knitting my blanket. 

 I finished an item I’d already started today. Then I was able to crochet some dish sponges.

All made from stash yarn—the scrap basket is getting emptier.

Yesterday I kept knitting on my sweater for the “Yarn Diet.”
I’m going to get right back to it now—I want to finish it, after all.

I think it depends on the thickness of your yarn and the size of your shawl.
Just Google “c2c” — you’ll find pictures there. You can also search for “c2c” on Pinterest; there are patterns there.
Maybe that’ll help you out a bit.

I found your sweater. I hadn’t even noticed until today that part of it is crocheted in hairpin lace. Up until now, I’ve only ever seen pieces that are made entirely in hairpin lace.

Michaela, we could have gone to school together, ha ha.

I also remember a teddy bear like that. Back then, I didn’t particularly like crafts. I remember that at some point we knitted socks, though my mom
did most of the knitting.

In the beginning, I did a lot of crocheting because it was faster. Now I enjoy both knitting and crocheting, including socks.

I haven’t bought any wool, but it’s not that easy to hold off.

My stash is already huge—it’s on shelves and in a big closet. I’ve even spread it out across two rooms by now. I used to always buy wool whenever I liked it. — But now, when I want to make something with it, my stash usually isn’t enough, or the color doesn’t match.
How am I supposed to work through my stash like this?

I’m curious to see how long I can keep this up.

I usually crochet or knit the yarn ends right into the project. That saves me the hassle of weaving them in. It just doesn’t always work so well with patterns that have large holes.

Our son’s dog is staying with us this week because he’s away on business.

You always get warm when you take the dog for walks.

I’m currently working on a children’s blanket. It’s made up of individual rectangles and squares. I’ve already crocheted them together.

The appliqués are also finished and just need to be sewn on. Maybe I’ll even finish it today.

Here’s the last one. I still need to practice adding the pictures.
