Dear users, dear authors,
as you may know, the Wool Empress + Yarn Diet project ends on October 23. Anyone who diligently uses up their yarn stash by then may go shopping again and call themselves Wool Empress. The new UFO project will also run from the 16th to the 23rd.
But here in this thread, for now, it’s all about who has bought yarn.
Not everyone wants to/can take part in the yarn diet.
Tell me about it. :-)
Are you checking whether we’re really not cheating on the Wool Emperor challenge and quickly picking something up in between...?
But in all honesty, I have to say—unfortunately not!
But I’m raring to go, just waiting for the results of the color event evaluation. Then I can give the colors to my trusted Bobbel dealer. That doesn’t count as bought yet; she still has to wind it first.....
And then I’m curious to see who will get the upper hand in me. The one little imp who screams that he wants the crown for Wool Emperor, or the other one who’s been tormenting me for a week and whispering: that one yarn—just that one, you don’t have to tell anyone.....
shame on you, you’re so mean...*laughs*...when I’m sticking to my “wool diet” sooo strictly...it’s like dangling a piece of chocolate in front of someone’s nose when they’ve just painfully lost 2 kilos and still want to lose 3 more...
But honestly, I’m really happy to read who’s got what new yarn :)
I’m not mean, just dominant. That’s something else. :- )
I regularly bring up the topic “Have you bought any yarn today?” because it always leads to nice discussions and lots of fun posts to read.
After the 23rd, you’ll be allowed to buy again. It’s not that far off now. You’ll still have time to buy plenty of yarn for Advent and Christmas decorations, for gift wrapping and Christmas presents, and of course for warm winter clothes.
I actually bought it on Friday, but it just arrived a few minutes ago. Two skeins of the wonderfully soft Schachenmayr Winter Ombre. I was already working on a Scoodie with one skein of it, then I reordered another one from the same batch (that arrived on Saturday) and immediately added two more in a different color, because I just think this yarn is soooo beautiful... ♥
I just can’t manage the “Wool Diet.” I really wanted to reduce my leftover yarn and even came up with a project. But believe it or not, there wasn’t enough of one color, so I just had to buy some more. Otherwise, I would’ve ended up with another UFO… and to make sure I had enough, I figured I’d better get one more skein… it’s a vicious cycle!
@Heike,
You can do it.
And you’re not alone—quite a few people are taking part in the WollkaiserIn/Wolldiät challenge.
I hope you’ll motivate each other.
I’ve created a new thread for the diet: Losing Weight Together – Motivating Each Other (No Advertising)
It’ll all work out.
I bought some more yarn on Saturday—really just a tiny bit: only 3 skeins ;-) but Junior really wants another penguin hat....
I crochet like crazy (according to my family^^) and I’m always using some up, but somehow the yarn just doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller.... so the crown of the Yarn Queen will definitely go to someone else.
Not a single gram.............. but that’s probably because I just got back from vacation and have a lot of work to catch up on at my main job, so I just don’t have time to shop.
My yarn stash, on the other hand, is steadily shrinking. Yay :-)
