Dear users, dear authors,
Since criseldis2006 / Heike brought this up in the other thread
over there, I’m starting a thread here for everyone who would like to lose weight.
I hope you’ll motivate each other.
Good luck!
Since I’m heading to Munich this weekend, I’m definitely not starting now ^^.
But starting next week, I might just let myself be persuaded to cut back a bit again. ;-)
It’s usually a lost cause right before Christmas, but maybe it’ll work out in a group. ^^
Plus, I have a goal in mind: I’m planning to go to a few concerts by a certain band next April or May, and I’d like to be a little lighter by then ;-)
I’ve been at it since July 24. It went well at first.
Right now, it’s going a bit so-so.
We’re heading to the mountains for Christmas. Since I already looked like an elephant on vacation
last year, I’d like to
look better this year—
especially in my ski suit.
I started on September 18. And I’ve already lost 2.5 kg. Just healthy carbs like beans, peas… nuts, and stuff like that. Lots of vegetables and eggs! No exercise, but more movement in the fresh air. I’m highly motivated. The important thing is to do this for yourself. My husband loves me just the way I am, but I don’t. That’s the best motivation—when you’re doing it for yourself!! I’ve finally figured that out!
Actually, I don’t want to lose weight. I’ve finally reached a body type where people aren’t constantly telling me to eat more—after being too thin in my younger years despite eating plenty. At least I don’t get worried looks anymore.
But I’m happy to cheer you on—after all, it’s all about feeling good!
Ooh, this is right up my alley. I’m always motivated for exactly 14 days, then the slacking off starts again with 1,000 excuses. I’m in a bit of a hurry right now, but I’m in. Cheers, Caro
I’m happy to hear (read) that there are even more
people here in the crochet forum who want to lose weight.
I started on July 24, 2017—after our hiking vacation in the mountains
and the “great” photos that followed—and have lost 15 kg so far.
Unfortunately, I still have just as much to go.
But I’ll manage that too.
I’m currently reading the book "Overcoming Fat Logic" for the second time.
I started in mid-August and have now gone from 75.6 kg down to 72.2 kg.
Since I love to eat, this pace works for me.
I still have 24 kg to go until I reach my normal weight (that is, 48.2 kg) — I’m also pretty short at 1.50 m.
I’m not really on a diet as such — I eat vegan and count calories.
It’s interesting to read all this. I had a good experience with low-carb at the beginning of the year. However, it was under difficult conditions, since we’re vegetarians and low-carb diets tend to be quite meat-heavy. But I want to give it another try and read up on a few recipes that work even without meat.
I could easily stand to lose 25 kg—my goal is 90 kg, which, at 175 cm tall, won’t make me skinny either :-)
I’m thin now, but I’ve been through other times, and I understand everyone who wants to lose weight. The FDH method helped me back then—I lost 10 kilos in a year, and that was just the right pace—I didn’t have any cravings, and my skin tightened up nicely along with the weight loss.
Since I’ve been following a vegan diet (2.5 years) and made a few more changes to my eating habits, I’ve maintained a healthy and stable weight. But I also know vegans who are severely overweight, so that alone isn’t the answer.
Hey there—I occasionally lose weight without even trying. It always happens when I’m so busy that I forget to eat, or in situations where I just lose my appetite…
On the other hand, I tend to gain weight when I’m knitting or crocheting, because it’s so cozy with a cup of coffee and … *grin*
