Dear users, dear authors,
have you bought any yarn or supplies today?
How are your yarn supplies looking?
Let me know.

Oh, dear Josefa,

that’s a topic that occupies my mind every day. Because no matter how much yarn I buy and have at home, somehow it’s always not enough.
The other day, a great flyer for a summer clearance sale fluttered in. Of course, I snapped some up. And now I’m realizing that those 10 skeins won’t be enough. So, unfortunately, I’ll have to order more again.
But not today—I first need to quickly use up the remaining 8 skeins so I can see how many I really still need. I don’t want it to be too little again.

I’ve already put together a bag of leftover yarn for the kindergarten. It reopens next week after the summer break. I wanted to go there with my children and drop off the bag.
Now my daughter has discovered it and put almost everything from the bag into her cupboard. “You can’t give away such beautiful yarn,” was her comment.
I told her that the kindergarten would also be happy about beautiful yarn and doesn’t just want gray, blue, and brown, but also bright, cheerful colors.
But my stash is big enough; I’m sure I’ll be able to keep everyone happy.....

I actually ordered some yarn today, even though my yarn stash isn’t getting any smaller right now.
But I need a specific color for a motorcycle fan who wants a door wreath with his motorcycle’s logo on it.

Best regards, Petra

Not today, but on Saturday, yarn arrived twice.
I’m already working with one of them.
It’s a warm winter yarn with alpaca, but it’s still easy to work with even in these temperatures.

Where can I buy affordable, soft yarn in beautiful colors for size 3.0 needles, for example?
I just took advantage of a sale at a company whose name starts with “B,” but it was terrible. It’s supposed to be cotton, but it’s so sticky and doesn’t have a good grip. It’s no fun to knit with at all.
Does anyone have experience with Hamburger Wollfabrik? Or where do you guys shop?

Oh, I haven’t bought anything today, but I did last week. Some really great yarn, and I even started a shawl over the weekend. And now, after a few centimeters… I don’t think I have enough for my idea. That means I’ll have to go back and get more. Even though there isn’t really any room in my closets for more yarn. But there’s so much great yarn there.

Well, if worse comes to worst, we still have an attic and a garage...

Wishing you all a creative week
Best regards

Jana, I don’t know where in Switzerland you live. A Swiss online knitting friend told me that she often drives across the border to Germany to the Müller drugstore. We have those here too, and they often have very nice cotton yarns. It’s not always the same—the selection changes from time to time. So just in case you don’t have a yarn shop nearby.

Yes, we often go to Germany—it’s only a 10-minute trip—and we also have a German address where things can be sent, so it’s no problem. Oh dear, a yarn store nearby? In Basel, there’s only the Coop City. 100 g of sock yarn = 14.00 francs!!
I used to shop at Kaufring a lot, but they’ve downsized the craft section in Weil am Rhein and don’t have any nice colors anymore. Last time I went there, I left without any yarn. w i t h o u t = hard to imagine.

Have a nice evening, everyone.

Oh, that looks great and so organized! Enviable! I wonder if I’ll ever be able to get things that organized? I just stuff everything wherever I can—into the wardrobe, shoe cabinet, coat rack, bookshelf... I just don’t know where to put the new delivery yet. It’s on the sofa...

@ruthk,

The ironing is on the sofa, and that’s where I sit crocheting again, with a great view of the little cuties.... Unfortunately, that has its downsides too: I have so many ideas and too few hands, and when there’s some space again, I have to decide what to fill it with.... oh dear ^^

And yes - I kind of have an "I want things to be neat and tidy" tick

I didn’t buy anything today, but I’m already busy planning.
My next big project will be a 2x2-meter motif blanket! That means: buying loooads of yarn!!
I just can’t decide yet whether to make it black and white or colorful :)

I have a few birthdays coming up, so I need a little something for each one—and luckily, my stash is enough! I’m also still stocked up for bigger projects—my budget and my limited space are grateful!

I’d love to have a display case like that, too! But unfortunately, I don’t have the space for it.
I wish, I wish—for a study with a radio and a door I can close so I can hide away from the world. And that’s where the display case would go.
Then I’d sort the yarn by color—from top to bottom, from light to dark.....

I haven’t bought any wool, but it’s not that easy to hold off.

My stash is already huge—it’s on shelves and in a big closet. I’ve even spread it out across two rooms by now. I used to always buy wool whenever I liked it. — But now, when I want to make something with it, my stash usually isn’t enough, or the color doesn’t match.
How am I supposed to work through my stash like this?

I’m curious to see how long I can keep this up.
