I’d also like to send you my warmest congratulations and best wishes on your birthday. 

Unfortunately, this is very late: thank you so much for your lovely birthday wishes, along with the birthday cake and flowers! I didn’t have any time to celebrate, because everything is in complete disarray right now, and I’m starting to doubt whether I’ll be able to get the chaos under control in the next three weeks so that my daughter’s family can at least settle into the house temporarily. I’m downright shocked at how much stuff (yes, not just yarn!) has accumulated over the past 20 years, not to mention all the heirlooms (photos, letters, documents…)

Dear Christina, you’ve got this! And even if there’s a little bit of chaos left behind, your family will still move in. Don’t try to be perfect! They love you anyway—otherwise, they wouldn’t want to move in with you. And if you all tidy up a bit together at the end, that’s not so bad either.

Thank you, dear Ina! Unfortunately, cleaning up together isn’t that easy, since our opinions on what should stay and what shouldn’t are quite far apart! And especially the little one creates more chaos than order, but you’re right: somehow we’ll manage to work it out together!
