Sewing by Hand

Dear community,
what do you sew by hand and not with a machine?

Actually, I’ve always sewn everything by hand—I did have a machine once, but I gave it away. In the meantime, I’ve bought myself a sewing machine again. A cute little teddy bear like this is definitely better sewn by hand, but those endless, boring straight seams (curtains, pillowcases, etc.) are really tedious—so I’m actually glad to have a machine again.

I sew my teddy bears by hand, because they simply turn out softer and more pleasant to hold, as well as these little felt beetles and other little felt animals.
Everything else is sewn on the sewing machine.

Patchwork, meaning all types of Liesel work, is very relaxing to do by hand.
Often found under English paper piecing

As little as possible 😂—basically just closing turning openings or doing a little mending now and then.

I just sewed cushions for small garden chairs for children. And I closed the turning opening by hand using the ladder stitch or mattress stitch. You just can’t get that to look as neat with a sewing machine. So everything has its place.
