Christmas Story on Crazypatterns

... because for once I don’t have to work then, and my sweetheart has time off too. Then we can really make ourselves cozy, unwind, relax, enjoy a lovely Christmas roast, gingerbread—mmm, delicious.
Lounge on the couch and watch wonderful old Christmas movies/fairy tales.

... and the crochet hook gets to rest for a while, too.

Thank you so much for this information; I’ll go with the second option.

Crocheting a raglan from the top (RvO)

Hi everyone,
since I’m currently crocheting a sweater using the top-down raglan method, I’d love to get your advice.
I’ve found two different ways to divide the fabric. One is into four equal parts, and the other is more rectangular (meaning the two long sides are the same—front and back—and the two short sides are the same—sleeves). I hope that makes sense.

So my question is, which method is better, or does it not matter? How will the sleeves look at the top? Will there be any differences in appearance between the two methods later on? This is my first attempt.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

How are you? How’s it going? Do you have a new project?

Yes, I’ve still got about 4 UFOs (moose, teddy bear, doll, and monkey) lying around here, waiting to be finished or sewn together.

Right now I’m working on several small crochet projects. I still need to sew on a dog’s head, and a sunflower still needs petals...

I’ve already crocheted 4 mini pouches (pattern from wiener-bastelsofa) with these Snaply snaps (I ordered them specially because they’re so colorful), and I’m working on a little ice doll (the shop seems to be gone now, so at the moment I don’t know who it’s from). They look similar to the little Lalylala dolls.

Since I still have 2 days off, I can fully devote myself to my hobby and switch off while doing it.

Keeping track of everything...... how.....???????

Well, my yarn stash is still pretty manageable. Like most people here, I also have this Callax shelving unit from IKEA. I’ve filled the bottom 6 fabric boxes that come with it with yarn.
However, they’re sorted into thin Diana crochet yarn, Bobbel yarn, then Catania yarn, plus one box with medium-weight yarn (slightly thinner than Catania), and one box with unfinished projects and leftover yarn. One box is full of craft stuffing and storage boxes for my beads.

I know exactly which box contains which yarn.

In the remaining spaces on the shelf, I keep my finished amigurumi and dolls.

What have you been crafting today?

I’ve been busy crocheting too—and still am, actually. I had the day off, so I can keep working on my cat (pattern by Schneckenkind), the one with the rainbow pants (mini version). I’ll post pictures as soon as I’m done, of course.

By the way, I have to switch crochet projects every now and then—I’m also working on a crochet bag, or rather, a First Communion bag. I’m curious to see how it turns out.

What have you been crafting today?

I’ve been crocheting more on my tunic. I’m working on the sleeves now, and I’m slowly nearing the final stages. So you’ll be able to admire my work in the gallery soon.
And I already have my next project in mind.

Today I’m feeling curious and asking silly questions :-) Something I’ve always wanted to know!

But when you come back, oh dear, what do your eyes see? That cat has actually made itself comfortable on your crochet project.
Now it’s time to separate the two and count the stitches again so you can keep crocheting.

I’m laughing my head off right now. What a hilariously written pattern story. It’s amazing.

So I’ll keep writing. After you’ve had a good night’s sleep and are well-rested (without any pills), it’s time to get up. Just don’t dawdle in the bathroom too long—after all, the crochet project has to be finished at some point.
Of course, it’s better with a nice hot cappuccino, some yarn, and that crochet hook.
With this beautiful weather, you can sit comfortably on the patio, but be careful : pigeons and magpies are circling around here (they really are flying around here) and they’re after your yarn.
So quickly crochet one more row of single crochet stitches before the actual pattern begins.

Best wishes from me, too, on your birthday—all the best. I’m sending you lots of sunshine for your special day; it’s nice and warm here today, so we can sit outside again.

Your cake is absolutely amazing—actually, it’s almost too good to eat. Thanks for the photo. Kudos to your friend—she really went all out. I’d love a cake like that, too.

Have a great time!

What kind of craft project do you take with you on vacation?

When I go on vacation, I tend to take something “simple” with me, including UFOs. So no crocheting amigurumis where I’d also need stuffing or eyes.
Just simple crochet projects, like sweaters, tunics, or scarves, or doilies, triangle shawls—things like that. Every now and then I need my pattern too—I’ve laminated it so it doesn’t get creased.

How many crochet hooks and knitting needles do you own? :)

Well, I just counted my crochet hooks too—there are about 35 of them (ranging from very thin ones—for edging handkerchiefs—to size 6.0). I have about 10 knitting needles from back when I used to knit (circular needles and those long straight knitting needles—one plastic and several wooden ones—a bit thicker).

New forum game... I prefer...

Of course, a beach vacation — I need water and the beach, to feel the soft sand under my feet; there I can really unwind, and of course I wouldn’t forget my crochet stuff either.

Dolls or teddy bears?
