Dear users, dear authors,
how’s your crafting going? How’s your yarn stash looking? Who’s bought some yarn? Who’s bought fabric or craft paper? How are your UFOs, WIPs, and PIAs coming along? Who’s working on an exciting new project? How’s the weather where you are? Tell me all about it. :- )

I have two projects in progress—one on the knitting needles and one on the crochet hook.

The knitted one is turning into a sort of cape. The second is a crocheted triangular shawl.
I must have started this one over five times before I was happy with the pattern.

And I have a third project in mind.

Right now I’m knitting a sweater with a lace pattern.

I’m also working on a flower pick—it’s crocheted and will be a birthday gift.

I still have plenty of ideas, but unfortunately only two hands.

Best regards

Well, I’ve taken a week-long break because I was pretty busy with an auction to benefit the DKMS. But it was worth it—I was actually able to transfer €340 to DKMS today. I auctioned off a few crocheted items, patterns, yarn, and hand-wound gradient yarn cakes. I’m over the moon because this cause is very close to my heart. Now I’ve decided to do this once a year.
But now it’s time to roll up my sleeves and design a lovely piece for fall—it’s already half done. A new shipment of yarn arrived just yesterday; I’m already running out of space, but when I see such beautiful yarn, I just can’t help myself… lol

I call my UFOs “UFOs” because they’ll probably stay UFOs forever ^^

Have a creative week, everyone—Best regards, Claudia

I confess, I’ve started a new scarf. But I did finish another scarf last week. So the number of WIPs hasn’t gone up.

Oh yes, Wollefaden... the “not enough hands” problem ;)

Hi everyone!

I’ve got a bunch of different things on my crochet hooks at the same time...
And I’ve finally started painting stones—something I’ve “always wanted to try” ;)
It’s a lot of fun, too...and once I’ve finished a few pretty ones (though I have to put three coats of clear varnish on them, each of which needs at least 24 hours to dry...), I’ll secretly place them in my neighbors’ front yards as pretty splashes of color *grin*

Right now, I’m trying to finish up a few smaller projects before I tackle a bigger one again: I’m planning to make a few shawls (the Bobbels have been waiting for quite some time, and I just need to finally decide on a pattern!) I also need new projects for my weekly train rides—ones that don’t require much attention and take up little space (socks, cloths)
Today, a thick catalog packed with craft and needlework supplies arrived, and I’m afraid I’ll end up placing one order or two…
One more question for Claudia: What does DKMS stand for?

Right now, I actually don’t have a real project!

I work on my “use-up-the-leftovers” half-granny shawl every now and then, but other than that...

My project right now is more like: deciding what to make next!
That will determine whether I buy a huge amount of Bravo or order some new Bobbel yarn.

Time is going to be very tight from now on, so I have to make this decision... I can’t do both ;)

@ ChristiaE

DKMS arranges stem cell donations for patients with blood cancer. You’ve probably seen it on TV: “Do the swab test—be a donor.”
Since I can’t donate stem cells myself due to a few “aches and pains,” I donate money to them—that’s why I’m doing this.

Best regards

Thanks, Claudia, for the explanation. I think your dedication is great.
I myself support cancer research in Switzerland with a donation, not least because it affects me personally.

Best regards, Christina

Unfortunately, people usually don’t think about things like this until they’re personally affected—at least that’s how it was for me; before that, it always seemed so far away. It’s great that you’re active in that area, too....:-)

I think DKMS is a great cause, which is why I’ve been registered in their database as a donor for 10 years now. I decided to do this when my son was born—you never know what might happen. This way, I might be able to save a life someday. It feels good!

@Claudia, it’s great what you’re doing.

Dear friends,
I don’t know what to do first right now…
the annual fashion show is just around the corner again, and somehow the days are getting too short—and the nights, too, and I don’t mean sleeping :-)

But like every year, time gets tight, and somehow I still manage it.

Otherwise, let’s kick off the next fall/winter season together, shall we? ;-)

Thanks, Doreen :-)
But I didn’t want to hijack this thread for that… I was just so happy and had to let it out for a second....

I’m currently writing up a few texts for some doll clothes I’ve already finished. At the same time, I’m making a Christmas gift for my granddaughter.
I’d like to get that finished before I go to the dermatology clinic in September.

I’m currently working on three things at once: knitting a winter sweater (still missing one sleeve), crocheting that awesome organizer basket all over again *grrr* because my stupid cat knocked over a candle and the almost-finished piece is covered in wax, and I just had to squeeze in the budgies too (though they’re still blind because their eyes are still in the mail).

@Mel: Why don’t you place the “waxed” item between paper towels and iron it gently? That should get the wax out!

And of course, I’m especially happy to hear about the budgies <3

@Nina
It was acrylic yarn; I tried to iron it out, but that only worked so-so, and the yarn warped :( I threw it away and am making a new one.

I'm currently starting on my Christmas preparations. A little angel is almost finished and will then go into the shop as a pattern. It was actually supposed to be a project for the Christmas issue of Häkeln for you, but customers want to be able to crochet it before then. So I came up with something else for the magazine and bought yarn and other materials over the last few days, and now I really need to pick up the pace, since the deadline is 9/15 and my main job really doesn't leave me any time to crochet.

But today I have the day off and am busily working away with my hook.

Have a lovely day, everyone, and best wishes!

Good morning. I’m stuck on my baby jacket right now and waiting for a reply from the designer. She hasn’t read my email yet… (I hate waiting)
Now I’m going to keep working on my baby blanket. Maybe I’ll squeeze in a snail as well. They work up pretty quickly.
I also have a few sewing projects in the works. For two of them, I’m waiting for materials.

We’ll see how things go from here.

Good evening, everyone! :-)
Luckily, most of my UFOs are finished and have already made their way into the shop.
The last UFO is my cardigan, which should be finished by mid-September and will also be uploaded to the shop.
Since I’m going on a 10-day trip, I’ve started something smaller and am taking it with me. It’s going to be a pair of toddler leggings made from a wool blend with alpaca. It’s really cozy and feels just great. As soon as they’re done, they’ll go up in the shop. The parents of my 1.5-year-old granddaughter are already looking forward to them, because wool leggings like these are very comfortable during the cooler months.
Oh, and I’m also working on a new idea… I just have to see if it turns out the way I imagine it. If so, it’ll be something really simple and beautiful for beginners.

Of course, I already have lots of ideas in my head that are just waiting to be brought to life. I could really use 10 hands right now for that. ;-)

Have fun knitting, crocheting, or whatever else you’re creating!

Warm regards
Monika

Yes, I’ve still got about 4 UFOs (moose, teddy bear, doll, and monkey) lying around here, waiting to be finished or sewn together.

Right now I’m working on several small crochet projects. I still need to sew on a dog’s head, and a sunflower still needs petals...

I’ve already crocheted 4 mini pouches (pattern from wiener-bastelsofa) with these Snaply snaps (I ordered them specially because they’re so colorful), and I’m working on a little ice doll (the shop seems to be gone now, so at the moment I don’t know who it’s from). They look similar to the little Lalylala dolls.

Since I still have 2 days off, I can fully devote myself to my hobby and switch off while doing it.

My flower pick is finished now, and I’ve posted it in the gallery.

My UFOs just aren’t getting any fewer—quite the opposite, there are more and more of them. That’s simply because I see too many new patterns that I like. Then I keep making smaller pieces in between.

I’ve just crocheted 2 dish sponges. They look good, but the yarn really scratches my finger. I need to take a break for now, because I still have 2 cakes.

Wishing you all a lovely afternoon.

Best, Marion

your flower-pick hedgehog is really cute. The glasses have a slight retro touch...

@ Mel

I liked the glasses right away—they look so smart. The hedgehog is just funny.

Your bucket turned out really nice, too—it’s really practical. I’m thinking about making one myself.

Best regards, Marion

I’m knitting one hat after another, but I’m also crocheting. Then I finally have to finish my white short-sleeved jacket (just the trim left to do).

My knitting project is finished.
Now I’m focusing exclusively on my next crocheted triangular shawl.
