Yep, I’ve been busy. The bolero for my granddaughter is finally finished. Crocheting the pieces was easy and went quickly. But sewing it all together always takes forever. I just can’t sew.
Since the weather wasn’t great today, I finally got around to writing my new pattern. When the weather’s nice, I just can’t bring myself to sit down at the computer. I’d much rather crochet outside in the shade. And that’s how some of my projects come about—but I still absolutely have to write the patterns for them...
I have an order for 4 sea lion egg cozies and I’m having a bit of a hard time with them. The weather is making me a little tired, so I really have to concentrate while crocheting. Or is it just that I’m finally switching into relaxation mode after a week of vacation? :)
Yesterday I was super productive. I finished 3 UFOs.
It wasn’t entirely by choice—I’d ordered some new yarn and it hadn’t arrived yet. They always deliver super fast, but unfortunately no company can manage next-day delivery every time.
But since I had the day off and more time than usual, I just finished everything that was close at hand.
So now the flower appliqués for my daughter are done (though I’m never really “done” with those because she gives them away to her friends so quickly, but the latest order is now complete), the seat cover for my husband, and the penguin for my son.
If the yarn doesn’t arrive today either, I’ve firmly decided to knit the second sleeve for my dad’s vest over the weekend.
Oh, I haven’t done anything yet—not a single stitch. And a day without stitches is a lousy day. But I just got home from work, I’m pretty wiped out, and I’m hanging out on the balcony, craving some fresh air and airing everything out. I can barely hold my tablet right now. I’m not getting anything done today.
I just went three days without crafting, since I was on a short vacation in the mountains with my grandchildren, and now I’m too tired (or too lazy) to pick up the needles. There’s still quite a bit to tidy up too (the laundry is already hanging), and mail to go through. Tomorrow I’ll hopefully get back to the ordered little monsters for the two boys with renewed energy.
I’ve been crocheting a car for a while now that’s supposed to become a musical toy. The main part is done, but the little pieces are annoying.
I’m currently taking the train to work, and of course I’m crocheting. But somehow I’m not really feeling motivated.
On the one hand, I want to finish the musical toy. On the other hand, I have so many ideas that all feel much more exciting
I usually have at least 5 projects in the works at any given time. So far today, I’ve been crocheting my pointed vest with blue/pink/purple gradient yarn. This project is totally addictive—the pattern is simple, yet very varied. And then there’s the lightweight cotton yarn—it’s just great.
I have so many knitting and crochet projects on the go—it’s good for my joints and keeps things interesting.
One thing I do every day is spin on my spinning wheel. It’s sooo relaxing! Right now, I’m working on making thick felting yarn so I can knit and felt some slippers.
Best wishes
I’ve been busy crocheting too—and still am, actually. I had the day off, so I can keep working on my cat (pattern by Schneckenkind), the one with the rainbow pants (mini version). I’ll post pictures as soon as I’m done, of course.
By the way, I have to switch crochet projects every now and then—I’m also working on a crochet bag, or rather, a First Communion bag. I’m curious to see how it turns out.
After breakfast, I continued crocheting a row of crossed double crochet stitches on my triangular shawl (the second-to-last row before the finishing border!—I’m looking forward to the finished piece, but first I still have to weave in the ends, ugh!) Then I organized some patterns before sitting down at the computer.
I’m currently crocheting scented pillows—I’ll fill them once the lavender has dried. You can hang them in the closet, and your clothes will smell wonderful. It’s always a little gift that brings a smile.
Best wishes, Andrea
