The Greatest Happiness on Earth, Part 2

Now that Birgit and Inna have shared their happiness with us, I’m going to do the same.
I became a mom yesterday. My little treasure’s name is Anton—he weighs 3796g and is 57cm long, a real big boy. But totally cute. We’re doing well. But since I’m just gazing at him lovingly all the time, I haven’t had a chance to crochet.

We currently have a UFO event going on where everyone who successfully finishes a UFO (=unfinished project) this week is declared UFO King / UFO Queen. I think that with Anton's birth, you have truly earned the title of UFO Queen. My best wishes to little UFO Prince Anton. Thank you so much. It’s absolutely wonderful. We’ll probably be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, and then family life will really begin. So far, he’s been very calm, sleeps a lot, and fusses relatively rarely and quietly.

Enjoy this time, because before you know it, they’ll be taller than you.
My two sons are already 28 and 30, and I sometimes wonder, too, where on earth did the time go?

I already congratulated you in the UFO thread, but I’d love to do so again here. Every child is a gift from heaven, and that’s exactly how you should see it. When you look into your Anton’s eyes, it’s just like looking into the world of angels. He’ll be well taken care of with you—I know that. He’s already receiving so much love and admiration… and besides, he’ll always be warm—he’ll certainly never be short on woolly, cozy things.

I can relate to your immense joy so well. It immediately reminds me of the birth of my son, which was 41 years ago now. Then, 1.5 years ago, my first grandchild, Linja, was born—that was such a wonderful experience, too. Without her, I probably wouldn’t be here, because she inspired me to take up knitting.

Have lots of fun together and enjoy every minute. Yes, this time flies by incredibly fast.
