Anyone who works up a pattern in November that has been sitting unused for a while can earn this honorary title.
It does not matter whether the pattern in question was paid or free. Please remember to give the respective author of the pattern feedback, leave an honest comment, or rate the pattern. That also earns extra points.

Yarn Saver / Material Saver (= this is the former Stepchild title for working with stubborn yarn or
also stubborn material ):
If you have yarn or material that has been lying around unused for a while because it has not fit anywhere so far, and
you use it in a beautiful project, then this
title is yours. Get started.

Frogging Monster Conqueror:
You can write down the project details here in the November thread or over in the Frogging Monster link:
Frogging Monster thread: what have you frogged and why?

Anyone who makes Christmas gifts in November or uploads Christmas patterns (authors ) will be honored with this title.

Anyone who does handicrafts in November, is generally busy, in the
handicraft area or even beyond it, will be honored with a suitable title. If necessary, I will invent a suitable title. Feedback, support, a nice community, and compliments from the users and authors reading along here are of course included too.

Hello,

for November I have on my list:

finish my poncho (half of it is still missing)
finish my UFO elf from October
finish 2 baby dolls
crochet a winter landscape (using up leftovers)

Let's see if I manage to do all that.

Best, Heike

I’d like to knit a coat in November and am currently testing the pattern with fine yarn.
I already knitted and gave a loop scarf to my mother-in-law on November 1st. I’d still like to finish writing up a pattern and see about a few small projects here and there.

So far, I’ve planned:

- 1 triangular shawl
- 1 dragon tail shawl

...I’m just waiting for the yarn now, then I can get started!

Meanwhile, I’m also continuing my motif blanket :)

So far I’ve finished three pairs of baby shoes, which are going to a friend. Then I crocheted twelve appliqués for fidget blankets and have already sewn them on.

I’d like to keep crocheting my Christmas decorations; they’re a bit larger and will hopefully be finished this month. We’ll see what else gets finished by the end of the month.

I'm working on a new cowl and have set my mind on making a jacket or a poncho for myself, but I’m not sure yet if I’ll manage it in November… I also don’t have any idea yet what kind of yarn I want to crochet it with—it definitely needs to be warm and cozy :-)

Other than that, there are still a few patterns waiting to be written…

So, the infinity scarf for my sister-in-law is planned for November—or rather, it’s already in the works. As for the socks, I still need to weave in the ends. There aren’t any photos of either project yet.
I can show you a scarf—maybe that counts for November. In any case, I wove in the last ends on November 1st.

I’ve planned to make a giraffe for one of Anton’s playmates in November. He saw Anton’s giraffe and immediately hugged it, and then his mom tagged me to ask if I could crochet one for him.

I also want to keep working on 2 baby blankets, 1 Christmas tablecloth, and the door wreath. We’ll see what I can get done

Wow, you’ve set some big goals for November. Nothing but busy little knitting bees around here (grin)...

Ida, your scarf looks great.
Mel, you really want to knit a coat with thin yarn? Wow—you have my admiration! :)

I’ve actually been on a 4-day knitting hiatus. It’s been a long time since that happened. Now I’m back home from my training weekend and will keep working on my projects here and there.

I’ve got a baby sleeping bag on my needles—very cozy and warm. It’s already grown quite a bit during the car ride.

Then I plan to finish up my last UFO—it’s going to be a cuddly little bear. All that’s missing are a few small pieces, but those are usually the ones I don’t feel like doing...

I’m also going to start a new pair of leggings for my granddaughter. But first, I want to finish the sleeping bag. And at least one pattern should be finished this month, too.

I’m looking forward to accomplishing all of this together with you. It’s so much more fun when we do it together, and it’s incredibly motivating.

Best, Monika

Monika, no—I’m knitting the coat itself with size 6 needles; I’m just trying out the pattern for the back with yarn for size 3.5 needles (that piece will be added to the scrap blanket later).

Ah, I see what you mean, Mel. Otherwise, it would be a mammoth project...
I’m curious to see what your coat looks like when it’s finished.

Mel, I’m already curious about that too.
I’ve started my jacket over, but with different yarn. Now it’ll be a bit more colorful and not as thick.
For that, I unraveled a UFO, and now the yarn has to be enough.
That big project was my UFO.

Plans for November? As always, probably way too many! Right now I’m working on a scarf for my son, a granny poncho for one of my sister’s granddaughters (with lots and lots of loose ends to weave in—phew!), and I’m planning to make handkerchief pouches for my coworkers, dishcloths to give as gifts, a scarf for my youngest grandson, a dragon tail shawl for my daughter-in-law, and quite a bit more. So that’s enough work for a 72-hour day, at least—and my wrist has a say in the matter, too…

Josefa

I unraveled a UFO and have now started a jacket with it.
Does that count as a UFO? Or as unraveling?

2681 Posts Recent Started
Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1:49 PM
I’ve been unraveling today…

I started my “Dragon’s Tail,” and for that I just used yarn I already had on hand…
The “Dragon’s Tail” consists of two patterns that alternate…
And somehow I was so lost in thought that yesterday I kept working on one pattern nonstop (and just continued briefly today too…).
I really couldn’t have been more clueless :D
Oh well, never mind

Oh Tins, I think that happens to everyone sometimes...
Monika and Marion, I’m already excited to see the coat myself... But yesterday I spontaneously ordered some very affordable acrylic yarn for the original needle size, and I’m going to knit the entire coat with that first, before I have to rip out the expensive yarn who knows how many times. I’ll still keep working on the thin swatch a little longer, though.
Marion, your jacket is definitely going to turn out beautiful—I already love the colors, anyway;)

@Wollefaden
Quote begins
Josefa

I frogged a UFO and have now started a cardigan with it.
Does that count as a UFO too? Or as frogging?
Quote ends

Both. As long as it’s finished by the end of November, you can get the titles UFO Queen and Taming the Frogging Monster for it.

Are you in the final stretch now for Taming Your Inner Temptation?
How are you doing with it?
Is it going well?

@Haekeltrulla,
how are you doing with your yarn diet?

Great, Josefa.
Then I’ll really get cracking so I can finish by the end of the month.
Things are also going great with the “Inner Slacker Conqueror.” The jacket is really helping to use up the yarn. This yarn was supposed to become a sweater and a cardigan, so it’ll definitely be enough this time.

The jacket’s already coming along—it’s a pattern from here. The pattern is so great; I’m just tweaking the cut a bit.
This is how far I’ve gotten so far.

Thanks, Mel and Josefa.

I liked the pattern right away—the whole jacket just looks great. I’m just going to make the sleeves with sleeve caps instead of straight, like in the pattern.

Marion, I like your jacket too. :)
I'm pretty busy with work right now, so I'm doing crafts a little less often than usual. But I've decided to finish knitting the baby sleeping bag and also write the pattern for it right away.

I should also bring the cuddly bear in for a landing this month...

Marion: I think the jacket’s pattern is great, too. The color combo isn’t really my thing. But luckily, that’s just a matter of taste. I just finished my second giraffe.

Oh Arni, how cute is she!!! Sigh... you’ll fall in love with her right away, and she’s even cuter than the last one.
If more of Anton’s friends fall in love with her, you can start mass production. ;-)

My sleeping bag is in the final stages, and I’m now faced with the decision of exactly how I want to design the top part… it’s not exactly easy for me.

My Paula (the doll) already looks cute in it.

I’m currently knitting new socks (one pair is finished), a Chinese dragon for my brother for Christmas, and a scarf—the yarn I ordered for it has finally arrived. Once all that’s done, I still have an endless number of projects lined up. Last week there was a special sale at our yarn shop—everything was much cheaper, so I stocked up. Sock yarn, yarn cakes, etc. Now I’m set for a while. Hopefully it will all work up well, but I already have some new ideas.

And then I’ll do a little test knitting for my idea for the color event.

I have to share some news with you real quick. As you know, I’ve been knitting baby clothes for a while now for the next grandchild, which is being planned.

Yesterday I found out that the baby is actually due at the end of May. I’m so excited about it! That makes me even happier to knit the baby sleeping bag. :) I’ll get a lot done before the baby is born—it’s going to be a really lovely bundle... (jumping for joy).

Love, Monika

Oh, thank you, Ruth! :) We live 350 km apart, so we don’t see each other very often. But it’s always a huge joy when we do. And next year, I’ll get to hold a baby in my arms again… can’t wait.

Sandra, I’ve actually gotten quite a bit done in the last few weeks. I knitted the sweater and hat in purple and orange, and the sleeping bag will be purple and yellow. That’ll definitely work. The parents aren’t into the typical colors anyway—like pink or light blue. Gray and white mixed with other colors is another idea.

Now I really need at least six hands for all the ideas swirling around in my head... :)

Marion, this is the back of the coat—a floral vine. The coat is called Sylvi (just Google it). The pattern is only available in English, which made it a bit tricky at first, but now (after reading it 100 times) I understand it

Now I’ve finally finished two UFOs. Here’s the finished sleeping bag I’m giving as a Christmas gift to my second grandchild (who’s still in the womb)... ta-da!

And then I finally finished the big granny square, too. Linja will get it as a blanket for her dolls this Christmas.

Unfortunately, the little bear is still a work-in-progress, just a bunch of loose pieces. I’ll carry that over into December and hope to finish it.

Wishing you all a relaxing evening and a wonderful week!

Winter can come in the U.S., too: The Christmas gifts for the family are ready (the “Ansgar” scarf for Dad, “Drachenstrahl” by Veronika Hug for Mom, and the fox scarf, of course, for Junior)!

Thanks, Marion and Sandra! I’m glad you like it. :)

Mel, your concrete project looks great. I’m really amazed at what you guys can create with concrete.

Wollbärli, your Christmas gifts turned out very pretty. The recipients are sure to be delighted.

Mel, your concrete project looks really good. I thought you were knitting the test coat in your size so you’d have two identical ones.

Christina, I really like your Christmas gifts too—they’re sure to bring a lot of joy to your family.

My Santa has gotten a little friend so he won’t be so lonely. I’m sure more will join him. I’m really enjoying making these little figures right now.

Marion, yes, of course I’ll knit it in my size! (I hope it fits, though...) According to the sizing, I’m torn between S and M....

Monika,
click on the free patterns, then you can have it too.

Ha, ha. — But you’ll have to make it yourself.

...Unfortunately, I’m veeeery inactive here at the moment... I always read along and admire your creations, but somehow I don’t really get around to replying, and the more there are, the less I can respond to everyone because I lose track :D
All of your things are wonderful!

@Monika: I’m happy for you that you’re going to be a grandma again :)

I made 2 hats over the weekend.
The one I made for myself, I put in the gallery.

My other scarf—I’m thinking about whether to add white, light pink, and pink to it once the green is knitted in, so it’ll be long enough.

Kind of like color blocks.

So, my test baby blanket is finished:

Of course, it still needs to be blocked.

But now I need your advice on the border. The front and back are crocheted together.

Should I crochet a border now?
If so, which one?
Picots?
A half-shell pattern?
Or do you have any other ideas?

Thank you very much. And good night.

Sandra, I’d make a border or edging.

There are picots, crab stitches, or… it’s just a matter of taste.

I’ll send you a PM.

Best, Marion

Sandra, I’d also crochet a border around it. It looks great, by the way.

CreatOwl—I like your color combination. It’s sure to turn out great.

Tina, thanks for being happy for me. :)
I’m running out of time right now, too, because I have so many projects (besides knitting and crocheting).

I’ve finished something else, but I can’t show it yet.
It’s a really cute little piece that I got to test-crochet for Mel.
But I do have some pictures of appliqués—I sewed them onto blankets that are being donated.

Very cute, Marion. :)
I’m really curious why you’re all being so secretive about it—namely, Mel’s new project. It’s almost like Christmas....

Marion, thank you! Your appliqués are super cute, too! I think the charity blanket campaign is great!
Monika, you’ll have to be patient for a few more days, but I’ll let you in on this much: It’s Christmassy… funny… useful… but that’s enough for now :)

Thanks, Mel, it was fun.

Monika, I won't reveal anything before it's shown.

I'd like to wish everyone a lovely first Sunday of Advent already.

Well then… I totally get it. ;-)
I also wish everyone here a wonderful, cozy, and snug first Advent weekend!

Today I baked my first batch of cookies… hmmm… delicious.
