Dear users, dear authors,
it’s time for the awards ceremony. You know how it works.
Copy the section between the asterisks and fill it out accordingly. You can leave out anything that doesn’t apply.

The awards ceremony starts on October 5. If anyone doesn’t manage it by then, that’s no problem. I’ll add you later, too.

Nobody goes home without a title. If necessary, I’ll invent a fitting title. Even small steps count. Everyone can join in.
Good luck.

Earn extra points / bonus points and improve your karma:
- For (your own uploaded ) photos there are always extra points.
- Handmade items that are given as gifts also bring extra points.

Ooooh, I overslept again!

Here are my stats:

Best with Leftovers in October
[x] I used up lots of colorful leftover yarn in October / emptied my
leftovers basket and earned myself the title Best with Leftovers.
Details about the leftover yarn projects:
I crocheted 2 headbands and a hat from leftover yarn

Shopping Queen / King:
This title is for everyone who likes buying yarn and (at the moment ) does not want to go on a yarn diet
. Photos are always a good idea.
[ ] I bought only urgently needed yarn in October.
Details:
[x] I significantly stocked up my stash and had fun doing it. :- )
Details:
I didn’t stock up significantly, but since the other option fits even less... I ordered 3 gradient cakes and one skein of Catania

New: busy Christmas elves
[X] I worked on Christmas gifts in October.
Details:
I started a shawl that is supposed to be a Christmas gift. But it isn’t finished yet.

Taming the Frogging Monster in October
[x] In October I partly or completely frogged a UFO / a work in progress and then still finished it completely / made something nice / new from it. So I am a Tamer of the Frogging Monster.
Details:
I had to undo the hat mentioned above again down to the crown, because I had crocheted it waaay too big.

End-of-summer updates / the last garden projects / vacation projects in October / preserves / homemade jam
etc. etc. + new: cozy blanket evenings
[x] I wrapped myself in a cozy blanket for crafting or otherwise kept warm, but I had a whole lot of fun doing it.
Details:
That’s the absolute standard for me :) At the moment I’m also continuing to work on my long-term project - a motif blanket. It’s already so big that I can cover myself with it while crocheting. Awesome! :)

all October projects
Number of projects finished in October: 5
Number of patterns finished / uploaded in October (for authors only ): 1
Details: Anything else you can think of, you can write here.
-One Möbius
-One amigurumi
-2 headbands
-1 hat
...On the side, I’m still working on my huge motif blanket; soon I’ll have 60% done! :)

Earn extra points / bonus points and boost your karma:
- You always get extra points for (your own uploaded) photos.
- Handmade items that are given as gifts also earn extra points.
If it’s not just about handmade items, then I can offer apple jelly, pear jelly, baked-apple spread, and applesauce—I gave them to my aunt and uncle.

Yarn diet / Yarn Empress/Emperor / Inner-Pig-Dog Tamer in October
[X ] I didn’t buy any yarn in October and earned the title Yarn Empress/Emperor.
[ ] I haven’t bought any yarn for quite some time. The
title Yarn Empress/Emperor definitely and deservedly belongs to me. I was also in the
final round for world domination. But the diet is over now; I’m going to buy yarn in November. Please state the total time period.
[ ] I want dominion over this galaxy / the Milky Way and
therefore refrained from buying yarn from August to the end of October.
[ ] I want the title Inner-Pig-Dog Tamer, because the final round
for world domination / dominion over this galaxy / the Milky Way
was / is not enough for me. = 1 whole year without buying yarn. Please state the total time period.

New: busy Christmas elves
[X ] I worked on Christmas gifts in October.
Details: a scarf for my older son
[X] I handmade decorations for Advent / Christmas or Advent wreaths / Advent calendars in October.
Details: but it stayed at the design stage; unfortunately, the idea wasn’t as feasible as I had thought
[ ] As a designer, I uploaded and sold patterns for Advent and Christmas.
Details:

End-of-summer updates / the last garden projects / vacation projects in October / preserves / homemade jam
etc. etc. + new: cozy-blanket evenings

[X] I worked on / finished one project / several projects in the garden / park / on vacation
/ with homemade cake / with homemade jam
and had fun doing it. :- )
Details: I processed the last 3 laundry baskets full of apples into baked-apple spread and applesauce—conclusion: everyone is happy about the homemade goodies, but I can’t look at apples anymore...
[X] I wrapped myself in a cozy blanket for crafting or kept myself
warm in some other way, but I had lots of fun doing it.
Details:
almost every evening on the sofa I snuggle into a blanket...

all October projects
Number of projects finished in October: 2—the scarf for my big boy and a loop scarf for me
Number of patterns finished / uploaded in October (for designers only):
Details: Anything else you can think of can be written here.

My goodness, that’s so sweet, Josefa! Thank you! I already feel so guilty because I never check in, but that’s a long story—I’d rather find another thread where I can explain it all.
In any case, congratulations to all the winners!

Thank you so much for the great awards ceremony. As always, it was great to read.

I’ll definitely manage to do some crocheting in November too. I only work 4 days (and I’ve already finished one :-))

Thank you for the awards ceremony. It’s fun to read your evaluations / honors.

Then I’ll get started documenting November in words and pictures.

I’ll work toward the title of Yarn Empress and also aim for the Leftover Yarn Queen title

Glad you liked the awards ceremony.
If anyone hasn’t signed up for the awards ceremony yet, feel free to do so. I’ll add you above then.
Is Mifas still missing?

Here in the thread, we’ll continue with the November projects.

Josefa, a very heartfelt thank you for your—as always—wonderful and motivating awards ceremony! You wrote that so beautifully.

I just got back from a training trip, and it’s such a joy to read this now.

Kind regards, Monika

Mifas is still missing?

That’s right. I’ll take a picture tonight!

Glad you liked it.

@RuthK,
the plural of “Laudatio” is “Laudationes.” Let’s just stick with “award ceremony” — it’s simpler. :-)

@Mifas,
I’ll add you tonight or tomorrow, then.

Sorry, a cat bite got in the way last night. So I didn’t do anything for two evenings—not even take photos, just read ... that has to happen sometimes too.

But I already have a few photos for you, and I’ll just post them all one after the other now

Poncho/wrap, pattern from here. I’m realizing once again that I’m not really the poncho type, so I’m going to sew the bottom together a few centimeters so it doesn’t swirl around ;-) the rest can stay airy.

Arm-cover-up thingy, pattern from here. I still needed 1 ball of yarn for this, so it took a while; only the last 3 rounds and the crocheted edging around the neckline are from November.

The shawl is from a CAL

Sorry, really bad photo, my mom isn’t exactly a big phone-photo person. But I’m proud that she managed to take it and send it via WhatsApp ;-) and to me, too! I’ve made a shirt like this before, and making another one in no time for my mom, who’s nice and petite, went faster.

Well, and then I also started knitting socks; the first pair followed a pattern from here, and I made the second pair just like that with the help of a sock size chart. Continued in the next post

Learned something new in October

==> I have CraSy Trios now and dared to try socks! And it’s working; I’m currently on my 3rd pair

So, that was my October. Oh, actually there’s more: I’ve also been busily knitting another shawl (from here). But I got myself mixed up and am waiting for someone to take pity on me and knit back about 8 rows. I’ll probably have to do it myself ... we’ll see when!

Wallflower Rescuer in October
[X ] I finally finished a pattern that had been left untouched for quite a while, and am therefore a Wallflower Rescuer.
Details: That was the poncho; I’ve easily had the pattern for half a year ...
[X] I earned bonus points for feedback to the respective designer / comments / reviews, etc.

OMG, I just realized I bought even more yarn. Another 4 Zauberbälle and another 7 skeins of Öko Alpaca. Oh dear... I’m sure there’s a “Mrs. Overboard” title for me too.

Thanks. I also crocheted 2 pairs of slipper socks—pattern from here. And I bought yarn for them, too. Omg, the things you forget in a month like this...
