You can make them even as a beginner, as long as you have basic skills. The pattern is written to make the process enjoyable.

July Projects: As always with UFO Week from July 23-August 3, Best Leftovers, Yarn Rescue, Tunisian Crochet and all the other popular activities

Hi Arni,

you’ve held out for over half a year so far without buying any yarn. Congratulations! :-)
That’s a great achievement.

Look at it this way: you’ve ordered yourself some yarn as a reward now.
It’ll be like Christmas… that’s how it was for me, too.

I’m so happy for you… Kids are simply a wonderful gift. And crocheting or knitting for them is, at least for me, the most fun.

Rib Pattern

Christina, you could knit them through the back loop. In a rib pattern, twisted stitches look very pretty and neat.

I like to knit rib patterns in k2, p1. At least for me, that turns out very neat and is somehow sturdier.

July Projects: As always with UFO Week from July 23-August 3, Best Leftovers, Yarn Rescue, Tunisian Crochet and all the other popular activities

Oops… I actually meant to write this post here… so here goes again:

How are you all doing? How are your July projects coming along?

For me, quite a few things are now entering the final phase, for example, my color projects. I won’t be able to make a final decision until everything is finished. At the end of July—by the 27th at the latest—I’ll show you everything here.

Right now, I’m crocheting a little basket with berries; I bought the pattern from Ruth here.
In the process, I learned a new stitch—the knot stitch. I hadn’t known that one before.

As you know, I prefer knitting. But I still enjoy learning something new when it comes to crocheting. Some things are just better suited for crocheting, like the tiniest ones. It doesn’t come naturally to me, but I’m still practicing hard...

Have a wonderful sunny day, everyone!

Warm regards from Monika

Do you have any needles or hooks free? What’s on the ones in use?

Your sock looks great, Christina! :-)
Why not show it off in the July projects too—there are awards at the end of the month.

Sweater, cardigan without seams, knitted from the top down

Christina, try searching for “knitting a circular yoke” or just “circular yoke.” There are plenty of examples out there—maybe even here on CP.

You’ve actually given me an idea. I used to knit Norwegian sweaters a lot. I really love the ones with a circular yoke and, for example, a pretty lace pattern.

That’ll definitely be one of my next projects. I love learning new things and will definitely do some in-depth research on this.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

great for vacation

If you love to knit, this sweet little sleepy bear is just the thing. What could be nicer and more loving for a child or grandchild than a hand-knitted cuddly toy! You'll see, they’ll never want to let it go.

Here, beginners (with basic knowledge) can enjoy a wonderful sense of achievement. The little bear is super easy to knit, even using leftover yarn. The pattern guides you step by step.

Just pack a few leftover yarn scraps in your vacation suitcase, along with the pattern, and when you come home, you’ll bring back a very special and unique gift.

These lucky ladybug pot holders (double-layered) make a great weekend project. I crocheted them on a camping trip and really enjoyed watching them take shape.

They’ll really brighten up your kitchen and are a real eye-catcher. And they always make a great gift.

Easy for beginners with basic skills to follow. All steps are described.

It can get chilly at any vacation spot. That’s when a shoulder warmer or cowl collar is just the thing. It doesn’t take up much space in your suitcase, and since it’s knitted from cotton, sweating is almost impossible. ;-)

The pattern is optimized for beginners. You only need to bring one skein of lightweight cotton, and you can knit this pretty collar while you’re on the go, too.

There’s always room for a few leftovers of yarn in your vacation bag. I crocheted this little bag for my granddaughter so she can help with the shopping. It fits, for example, a banana and an apple. Of course, you can also use it for many other purposes, for example to give gifts in it. There are no limits to your imagination.

In addition to the bag, there are lemons and carrots for a children’s play shop.

Also easy for beginners to crochet while on vacation.

Have you bought any yarn today?

I did a lot of shopping in June, including a lovely yarn made of virgin wool and hemp. It feels great, and I’m already looking forward to knitting with it.

Right now, I have everything I need. However, since I’m planning another visit to Waltraud’s yarn shop this month, I’m sure something there will find its way into my bag.

We’ll see...

You can make it as a beginner too, as long as you have basic skills. It's very easy with the pattern, which clearly describes every step.

With this cheerful, colorful spring or summer meadow, you can creatively use up leftover cotton yarn. Here you’ll find various pattern ideas, such as large and small placemats with flower edging, flower-shaped table decorations, and various egg warmers.

It’s best to start crocheting right away—in the garden, on the patio, or wherever you like—and then try out your new table decorations.

You can crochet this delicious meal for your child’s or grandchild’s dolls. Then they’ll have the same things on their plates as their doll moms or dads. For example, toast, butter, vegetables, a fried egg, and pasta.

This vest with vertical stripes is very easy and quick to knit. You knit with a single color—the stripes are added later.

A vest for every occasion and extremely practical for any season. I knitted it using bouclé cotton. But you can use any other yarn or cotton with a yardage of about 100 m per 50 g—and, of course, other colors as well.

Experienced beginners with basic skills can easily follow along with the pattern to make this vest.

Cotton Patterns for Summer // Comfortable Even in High Temperatures

How about a romantic summer skirt in shades of pink? It’s knitted from lightweight cotton and can be adjusted to fit any size, including children. The measurements provided are suitable for sizes 38–42.

The skirt pairs beautifully with blouses, shirts, or tops. Since it’s knitted in the round from the top down, there are no seams. I’ve described all stitch patterns in the pattern in detail, row by row, so even beginner knitters (with basic skills) can easily recreate the skirt.

Of course, you can also use your favorite colors.

Wool as a filling material?

Mel, I’ve thought about that before, too…
But I decided against it because, for one thing, it’s hard to wash, and for another, it takes forever to dry.

Of course, everyone can decide for themselves…
