This shawl isn't quite that mini — you should plan on at least 1 skein of sock yarn — but it's a wonderful knitting project to take with you, because you don't have to think much while working on it and you can set it aside at any time without having to spend a long time figuring out where you were in the pattern afterward. The ideal travel project!

I finished my shawl yesterday. I’ll post pictures as soon as I’ve woven in the ends :-)

For fans of lace patterns, I have a shawl here that incorporates two of them. You’ll need sock-weight yarn in two colors and 4mm knitting needles. The patterns are written out and also shown in knitting charts.

This certainly isn’t difficult for advanced knitters, but it does require a bit of concentration: a scarf made from sock yarn with cables and a lace pattern. Now that it’s gotten cooler, I feel confident writing about scarves again :-)

Mine’s still in the works, but if it doesn’t cool down soon, I won’t be able to finish it in August. So, I’m knitting this shawl:

The yarn stash is doing well. I just received a large box of alpaca yarn. As soon as it gets cooler, I’ll figure out what to do with it :-)
