Dear users, dear authors,
how many pieces of clothing do you own?
How many of them did you make yourself (crochet, knit, sew, etc.)?
How many of them do you actually wear?
Do you have a lot of accessories?
No, please don’t! There are definitely too many: too many that I don’t wear, too many that I don’t like anymore, too many that I’m saving for “when I lose weight” (which will never happen)! I really need to declutter and make room for new things :-((
Haha, I’m on vacation this week and am currently in
the process of cleaning out my
closet.... Just like Ruth, I definitely have way too many—I’m putting together a
bundle right now to donate.
I’m not a typical “girl” at all, and I’m not a “hoarder” either.
And I only own very few pairs of shoes ;-)
So there’s still plenty of room in my closet for a few Bobbels *giggle*
Oh, and I don’t have any crocheted clothes at all (except for 2 or 3 shawls).
Instead, I almost exclusively wear hand-knitted socks (except in the height of summer).
But I recently bought some gorgeous denim-blue alpaca yarn, and that’s finally going to become
a crocheted jacket just for me ;-)
I’m not a typical girl in that regard either, but somehow my closet is still always overflowing...
Over the past 12 months, I’ve definitely taken 10 bags to the used clothing drive, but the clothes just don’t seem to be getting any fewer. Unfortunately, I don’t like counting either—I’d have to take everything out and put it all back in again :D
Oh no, I’d rather not count! I definitely have too much, too.
I have quite a few hand-knitted items—at least 10 pieces. I only started knitting again just under two years ago. If my collection grows from here, I’ll get rid of what I no longer need. I do that every now and then, by the way.
I’m also not the typical woman who collects shoes, for example. I only have a few pairs that I wear until they’re worn out. I even take my favorite shoes to the cobbler.
And my clothes are so neutral that I still wear them even after 10 or even 20 years. I actually have a few favorite pieces like that...
I rarely buy clothes, and when I do, it’s only for basics like socks, etc. Everything else I make myself now.
Oh no, please don’t count! That said, I have to admit that I’ve hardly bought anything new in recent years, and my favorite pieces are 10 years old or older! I bought some shoes last year because my wonderfully comfortable loafers had holes in the soles (which couldn’t be patched, unfortunately), and two months ago I had to replace my hiking boots because the soles had come loose on the old ones. By the way: I really hate buying shoes because I have somewhat “difficult” feet.
Made them myself? Two sweaters, a jacket, several scarves and a shawl, socks, gloves, and an ancient T-shirt. Plus a pair of sewn pants, a blouse, two T-shirts, and a culotte skirt.
I have exactly 136 items of clothing that I’ve crocheted and knitted myself, since I always wear something I’ve made. Plus 15 pairs of jeans, 8 skirts, 12 pairs of leggings, and 32 tops and shirts ???? I just counted them recently... but I still wear everything. I don’t wear jewelry, but I’d rather not count my bags and shoes ????
Oh my! Too many to count—some I can’t wear anymore because I’ve gained weight, and (of course!) I’ve been dieting for years but still can’t lose any weight because the food tastes so good. But now I’m going to take a hard line and get rid of some. I have a few handmade items, but that number is always changing because some things get given away and new ones are added. I have only a few pairs of shoes and a few bags. As for jewelry, I only wear handmade pieces—if any at all.
I’m just like Christina when it comes to shoes, since I also have complicated feet. Finding really good, comfortable shoes is almost like winning the lottery for me. ;-)
