Yarn Swap Package No. 1/2022 Is on Its Way, Part 2.

You’re right. This wonderful plush yarn is just perfect for knitting.
1. You can see the stitches better.
2. The final result is nice and fluffy, light, and warm.

Crocheting didn’t work out so well for me either.
But what do you do now with 300 g of plush yarn? The rest is from the last swap.

I was thinking of making a little blanket for Kruemel, but what about the rest? Washcloths? That’s actually a bit of a waste. Do you have any ideas?

Corona

Oh Sandra, I also feel like things are getting worse instead of better. But I guess we just have to get through this now.
I barely slept last night. The back pain is now radiating down into my legs, so I don’t know how to lie down, sit, or sleep. Everything’s tingling.

I try hula-hooping every now and then—just to move differently; maybe it’ll help. A quick break, then back to it. At least it takes my mind off things.

My husband is slowly starting to get a sore throat, too. I wonder what’s going to happen next.
My dad has already sent us some fruit.
We’ve finally found a family doctor, too. No other practice was taking on new patients. It’s kind of sad.

Tina, I hope your dad gets well soon.

Warmest regards from our home quarantine. Everyone else, stay healthy so that we sick folks can enjoy your creations—it’s sure to speed up the healing process, too. :-)

I’m so glad to hear that, Marion. You’ve picked out some gorgeous yarn.
Yes, that green yarn caught my eye at first, too, but I ended up choosing a different one that better suits my projects.
We’re excited to see what you’ll make with it.

Have fun with it!

Thank you Sandra, I wish you the same. Tomorrow it will be 7 days for me, and there’s no major improvement in sight.

Fingers crossed, my husband isn’t showing any signs yet.

To the others who sent get-well wishes: a big thank you and a virtual hug from me. That cheers me up a bit.

My back is killing me; I have to lie down again.

Corona

hello everyone,

so far we had been spared, but now I’ve received the test result.
Positive - COVID, which means quarantine, staying home. Despite the booster and all precautions.

Considering the circumstances, I’m doing okay, but I have really bad back pain and little appetite. A little while ago I wrapped myself in a blanket and enjoyed some fresh air on the balcony. Pretty windy, but it did me a bit of good.
Now I have to wait for the health department to contact me.
I’ve already let work know. This whole thing is no fun.

stay healthy, everyone, and wishing a speedy recovery to those who are sick too.

best, Andrea

Thank you all.
Now I just need to get well so I can work with this wonderful fluffy yarn.
Maybe I’ll make a teddy bear out of it.

At least the sun is shining today—that already makes a big difference.

Good morning, everyone!
I wanted to share this beautiful sunrise with you.
I haven’t been able to sleep since 4:00 a.m. My back hurts from lying in bed for so long.
We’re going to have breakfast now. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Warm regards,
Andrea

Have a great weekend: What are your plans?

I wish you all a relaxing and sunny weekend.

The sun finally came out here today—a gorgeous blue sky, skyscrapers against the sky, wonderfully fresh air, but... freezing cold.

I need to recover. My cough is starting to ease up, but that’s about it.
It’s also this uncertainty of having to wait until Monday to find out whether it’s COVID-19 or just this cold, because I’ve never felt this bad before.

I hope you all stay healthy.

I'm popping back in too, to distract myself. Can't spend all my time in bed, after all.

Oh Anja, your writing style is a real blast again. That's kind of how it is for all of us, isn't it?
I'm not doing a yarn diet anymore, but it still isn't getting any less.

The tiger blanket is amazing. I would leave it as it is, even without fringe. The border already makes it look great; the fringe would almost be too much. I've fallen for this tiger blanket too. The colors are fantastic. But I don't like crocheting with black; it's hard to see.

The dishcloths look great.

You were all so busy. I'm taking a short break because of my cold.

Best wishes
Andrea

Hello, my dear crafting friends

I’m feeling a little better, but I’m still feeling a bit under the weather.
I was so happy to receive your get-well wishes.

It wasn’t easy to decide, but I finally found what I was looking for. A photo will follow.

Maybe the package will be on its way as early as tomorrow. My husband is so sweet and is taking care of it for me.
Until then, please be patient a little longer.

Warmest regards
Andrea

Hello everyone,

just wanted to give you a quick update that the swap package arrived at my place today.
I haven’t looked inside it yet, though.
I’ve been in bed since yesterday with cold symptoms and a fever. I feel terrible. I’ll go to the doctor tomorrow. You never know—could it be C....a or just the flu?

Best regards,
Andrea

New shoes and a bed for Kruemel

Good morning

Thank you for your feedback, Ina, Inge, and Monika.

That little bed really caught my eye at a..z..n In the near future, I’ll be working on a little crocheted blanket for Krümel. But first, I have to finish my bunnies for my coworker and a resident (crochet commission).

Monika, which swap site are you on? I’m sure you’ve mentioned it before, but I’ve unfortunately forgotten again.
Yes, take a photo when you get a chance. I’m really looking forward to seeing it. You can never have enough dolls, unless you have a space problem, like me. It’s a shame, really. A doll-crafting room like that would be nice—oh well.
These two are enough to crochet for, anyway.

Have lots of fun, everyone!

New shoes and a bed for Kruemel

They arrived today. A pair of new shoes for my Puppi, and Kruemel finally has her own bed with bedding.
The bedding that came with the set is hanging on the clothesline—it smelled a bit like chemicals—and she’s snuggled up in this one here, which I ordered specially.

Love, Doll Mom Andrea

Hey Susanne,
it’s great that you’re showing us your yarn treasures. Very pretty colors. I would have liked that little yarn cake there, too. Now it’s ended up with you, waiting to be made into something.

My excitement is naturally growing about everything that will be arriving here. I’m curious.
I have to work one more day tomorrow, then I have 4 days off, and then I’ll have the time and peace to take a good look at everything once the swap package is here.

This activity is great fun, and it’s funny to see which yarn has set off on its journey to where.

February Projects 2022 + January Projects 2022, Part 3: the Crazypatterns Craft Group

Just popping in for a quick look.

I’m only making slow progress on my projects bit by bit, which makes me admire your amazing creations all the more.

The balloon mobile looks really great. I’ve also been thinking that you could hang a single one in the window or from the ceiling. It’s a great eye-catcher.

The crocheted tulips look pretty and bring a touch of spring into the home.
I bought myself a bouquet of roses today, too—I needed a little color and some spring spirit with all that stormy weather outside.

Monika, your slipover looks interesting in those colors. Pair it with a white blouse underneath, and you’ve got a perfect outfit for going out.
Sometimes a ball of yarn looks kind of silly at first glance, but once it’s worked up, it creates such beautiful color patterns.

The knitting pattern on the hat looks very pretty, but complicated.

Well, I definitely won’t be able to crochet many rows on the bunny’s pants. I’m too exhausted today.

Hope you all have a storm-free evening for your crafts **wave wave**

I’m continuing to crochet the Easter bunnies that were ordered from me—one medium-sized one, and now four small ones to go with it.

Holding the Crochet Hook

I’m also more of a “knife grip” person when it comes to crocheting. That’s how I learned it, and I’ve stuck with it.
I’ve also noticed in various crochet videos just how differently people crochet.
Just for fun, I tried the “pencil grip” once—it feels more comfortable for the hand—but, oh boy, I really struggled until I managed to crochet a single crochet stitch that way, and since it was so unfamiliar, no, that wasn’t for me.

Everyone also wraps the yarn around their finger or holds it differently—have you ever noticed that? It’s really interesting.

Have a great weekend / How's the weather where you are?

Well then, I wish you all a wonderful weekend, too.
Get cozy on the couch with your craft supplies.

Unfortunately, I have to work this weekend, and strong hurricane-force gusts have been forecast for tonight. Hopefully no trees will come crashing down.

Ina: I’m sure there will be lots of joy when the grandchildren and daughter-in-law come to visit, and everything sounds so child-friendly and inviting at your place. I’d love to stop by, too. My kids always loved fish sticks, too. Yum.
Well, have fun, everyone.

bergli, and you have snow? Hopefully with some sun.
Nah, I don’t want snow right now—we had enough of that in Norway; it was meters deep there. I want spring.

Well, I’m going to crochet a few more rows on my commissioned Easter bunnies, wash my hair, drink a cappuccino, and then the evening will be over before I know it—I have to get up early tomorrow.

Warm regards from me
Andrea

Purpose of Scatter Decorations?

Hi Josefa,

The name “scatter decorations” actually says it all. You scatter them on the table or somewhere else as decoration. It looks a little nicer that way.
Although I rarely use them on decorated coffee tables—I tend to repurpose them for crafts or earrings instead.

Sometimes there are great motifs among them, which I then use on greeting cards or those 3-D cards with a window—you can use these scatter decorations there too (there are also sequins you can sew on; I glue them onto cards or sew them onto crocheted bags as “bling bling” decoration).

Good morning,

Wow, Steffi, you’ve really created a masterpiece there. Awesome. It’s truly something to be proud of.
We could start an “origami thread” here where everyone can show off their finished pieces—you’d definitely take first place.

To everyone: My time is pretty tight right now because of my late shift; I don’t get a chance to do any crafts in the mornings, and in the evenings I fall into bed dead tired.
Especially yesterday. The late bus left right in front of me—by just 4 minutes—and the next one wasn’t coming for another hour. So I walked the whole way home. Half an hour later, I was home. We don’t have a car. But my husband came running out to meet me. I was really “footsore.”

Have a nice afternoon, everyone!
