Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Turkish and Egyptian cotton when it comes to balls of yarn?

Good morning, I looked it up online and found this
Turkish cotton should be washed at 30 degrees, while Egyptian cotton can be washed at 40 degrees.

thanks, Petra. Let’s see if anyone else can help me out.
Since I crochet with cotton a lot, I’m not sure which of the two types works better for crocheting. You can’t really tell from pictures.

Egyptian cotton is among the best and most durable on the market, since Marko cotton comes exclusively from Egypt. I would always prefer this cotton, whether for knitting or sewing.

Yeah, I’ve read that too—that Egyptian cotton is supposed to be very high quality. But the description often doesn’t say where the cotton comes from.

Egyptian cotton is spun into longer fibers, making it both softer and very durable.
