New shoes and a bed for Kruemel

They arrived today. A pair of new shoes for my Puppi, and Kruemel finally has her own bed with bedding.
The bedding that came with the set is hanging on the clothesline—it smelled a bit like chemicals—and she’s snuggled up in this one here, which I ordered specially.

How sweet, Andrea! Both doll children are absolutely adorable, and so is the little doll bed with the beautiful bedding. I’m also really enjoying being a doll mom right now. I’m making up for lost time from my childhood.

I just picked up little Merle from the swap group and am going to dress her now. Today I couldn’t resist and ordered her a little twin sister on eBay. Once I get her, I’ll take a picture of the two of them together. One has brown eyes, the other blue.

That little bed really caught my eye at a..z..n In the near future, I’ll be working on a little crocheted blanket for Krümel. But first, I have to finish my bunnies for my coworker and a resident (crochet commission).

Monika, which swap site are you on? I’m sure you’ve mentioned it before, but I’ve unfortunately forgotten again.
Yes, take a photo when you get a chance. I’m really looking forward to seeing it. You can never have enough dolls, unless you have a space problem, like me. It’s a shame, really. A doll-crafting room like that would be nice—oh well.
These two are enough to crochet for, anyway.

My little sister used to have a boy-and-girl doll pair. I can still remember that shopping trip with horror (it must have been about 50 years ago). My dad bellowed loudly through the store, “kiek mol, dor is een lütten Düdel an” (look, it’s got a little willy).
Goodness, was that embarrassing for me (age 15).

A doll craft room like that would be my absolute dream, too. Now I have several dolls in different sizes, and it’s such a joy to knit for them. A photo will follow shortly.

Hi, I just had to chime in—I never would have thought so many people were this crazy about doll children. I think it’s just great; there’s a little bit of childhood slumbering in all of us, even in me. So keep having lots of fun with your dolls, everyone. Oh, and your Krümel is absolutely adorable. Today I received the twin babies for my two granddaughters. They’re so cute, especially all their features. When I lay them side by side and “turn them on,” they babble, burp, say “Mama,” and laugh over and over. And they take turns looking at each other. I’m completely fascinated, and I’m sure the two girls will be, too. Here’s a photo of the twins.



No, I’m not going to keep them—just dress them up. ;-)
My little brother for Merle will arrive in the mail tomorrow. Then I’ll show you both of them.

Andrea, you’ve kind of inspired me with your doll’s bed. I’m now thinking about how I can make a pretty doll’s bed out of a cardboard box.

when I see the photo of those little shoes, it takes me right back to my childhood. I was born in ’55, and I still remember how the dolls would just disappear before Christmas.
Then, on Christmas Eve, there they were, all dressed up under the Christmas tree. It was soooo wonderful. AND... once, my biggest doll was wearing new shoes. They looked exactly like yours. Mine were red. I can remember it as if it were yesterday.

Now my second baby is here, and I’m totally in love. She’s new, and she’s a girl. The new one is Merle, and the one I already had is now called Merlin. She arrived wrapped in a cloth with a little bear embroidered on it. Here’s the photo:
