Hello everyone,
today the swap package returned to its point of origin. I was so excited!
Of the yarn I’d put in, there was exactly one skein left that hadn’t found a new home. Namely, this one:
Of course, I thought that was a great outcome, because it meant that all the skeins I’d set aside had found new owners. And now I could rummage through a whole package of new yarn.
These yarns have now made their way onto my yarn shelves:
I especially liked:
1. The Drops Safran cotton yarns. Such beautiful colors, and I’ve never had this Drops variety before.
2. The “Grünlinge”—a gorgeous shade of green, not a bright, garish green, but an “elegant green.” I’m really into that right now. Maybe I’ll knit myself a pair of wrist warmers with it.

3. That one skein of “Babywolle.” I don’t usually knit with acrylic yarn, but this one is really super soft and has a lovely shade of pink. I wouldn’t normally have bought it, but now I can try it out in person. And it’s already making a very good impression.
4. The colorful merino wools—also very beautiful earthy colors and fine quality. I could easily imagine using these together with solid-colored, color-coordinated yarns of the same type.
5. Italian virgin wool—I’m so in love with it. Very soft and a great shade. 90 m per 50 g. I could buy some more of this and use it for my next planned project. So this is a sample to try out before making a larger purchase. I definitely wouldn’t have spotted it in the store among the other 1,000 skeins, and besides, now I can test it out in person.
6. A colorful one from “Tausendschön”—the colors are really beautiful, too. It has to go into storage for now because I like it, but I don’t have a specific idea for it yet.
7. “Bravo Softy”—I had no idea that Bravo had a soft version. If it weren’t for the swap package, I’d never have known. A new discovery. And really soft.
8. I also really liked the sock yarns. But there’s no separate photo for them.
9. I found a light pink, super fluffy one to be a real eye-catcher. Unfortunately, I can’t wear it myself because it has too much fuzz and too many synthetic fibers. But who knows. For now, it gets to stay with me.
Now I’m going to sort everything out a bit and give some more thought to one or the other when the time comes. The yarns that don’t stay in my household will still find a lovely new home where they’ll be loved—I promise.
Last but not least, I’d like to thank
Marlies
, who included a personal note in the package: beautiful homemade pot holders (awesome!), delicious jam for Sunday breakfast, and a greeting card from her hometown. Thank you so much, dear Marlies.
I’d also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to
everyone else
who took part in this swap. It’s wonderful that you were able to part with some of your treasures. This way, we’ve enriched each other’s lives and brought each other joy. And I’m sure a few more things will be created from the swap yarn and shared here.
Thank you so much also for sharing in everyone’s excitement and enthusiasm and for writing about it here in this post. We all especially loved the photos of the new yarn treasures and the items that have already been made from them. Shared joy is double the joy, after all. A wonderful community project that we’ll definitely repeat.
Warm regards, Ina
