Steffi, your beanie looks absolutely great—I’d wear one like that, too. If there is a pattern for it, I’d be very interested to know where I can find it. It kind of looks like a hat, but in a shape I’ve never seen before and that I really like. I agree with Ina on that.

A little jacket with a hat for small dolls (35–40 cm) can be quickly knitted from leftover yarn and is sure to be a big hit. It even fits in a St. Nicholas boot.

Dear Ina and Steffi, thank you for your feedback. Yes, one ball like that is definitely enough. At first I wanted to use the thicker purple yarn, but since it was scratchy against my neck, I decided to go with the alpaca instead. Then the beautiful color of the Flora yarn was just right for knitting a second shoulder warmer. It feels very comfortable against the neck. Maybe I’ll knit the white ball of Flora that way, too. It’s fantastic to wear.

Steffi, I can only imagine it being worn. It must be a very high-quality yarn to command such a steep price. That would give me pause, too.

I’ve also knitted something from swap yarn. This shoulder warmer with a collar is made from a skein of Drops Flora from the last package.

Oh wow, that looks so delicious! Soooo many Christmas cookies—that must have taken a lot of work and time.

We’ve actually stopped giving gifts for years now. We haven’t had any Christmas stress for a long time,

but I do enjoy giving gifts. So sometimes there are surprises. Of course, my two granddaughters get their gifts. We often don’t find out what they want until the very last minute.

First of all, I hope you all have a nice, cozy weekend in the warmth and get some good rest.

Here, the weather is quite pleasant compared to where many of you are. At least it was dry today, and the sun even came out. Tomorrow it’s supposed to get warmer than 10 degrees. It’s crazy right now, all this back-and-forth.

Today we were at the Saumarkt here in our town of Wurmannsquick—the Christmas kickoff, so to speak, before the Advent markets. I was really happy to see that there were lots of booths selling handmade crafts. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a booth selling yarn—just finished items like hats, gloves, neck warmers, etc.

Something really funny happened when we were at a booth selling men’s hats. A newspaper reporter actually came up to us just as my husband was trying on a hat and asked us some questions. And now we’re in Monday’s issue of the “Passauer Neue Presse” with a photo and our names. That was quite a surprise. People will surely be stopping us more often on our walks from now on. :))

Hmmmm, everything here looks so delicious. Cinnamon rolls—I’d love to see the recipe for those, Petra. We like them, too.

I just baked the apple clouds again (recipe by Inge). But since I also wanted something Christmassy for afternoon tea, I added 1 tsp of gingerbread spice and 2 tsp of cocoa to the dough.

They taste absolutely amazing!! I like this version so much that I’m going to stick with it during the winter. Next time, I’ll bake in a few cocoa nibs as well.
