It’s finally the weekend: how’s the weather where you are?

Dear users, dear authors,
How was your week? Do you have a fun weekend project planned? What’s the weather like where you are? I hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Here on the edge of the Swabian Alb, the weather isn’t great. Cold and lots of rain. Just awful. 

At noon today, I’m going to a garage sale, and tonight we’re having tarte flambée. 

Tomorrow evening there’s a farewell party—my son’s girlfriend is heading to Australia for six months. While that’s no cause for celebration for those of us staying behind, it’s obviously a wonderful time ahead for her. 

And on Sunday, we’re meeting up with friends and plan to check out a new café. 

So we have something planned every day, and there’s still plenty of time left for my crafts.

A cold fall day with bright sunshine and a crisp breeze tempted me to hang the laundry outside to dry today. Now that the household chores are taken care of, it’s back to the crochet hook—the first Sunday of Advent is approaching, and I need to finish the window decoration.

Here, it was foggy at first, then gloomy and wet—a typical November day. The temperature blanket keeps growing, but it’s only one row a day, after all. LaCritza’s crochet Advent calendar has arrived and is already set up, but it doesn’t start until December 1—until then, I’ll have to find something else I can work on in the meantime. I’ll browse through the patterns I’ve already bought to see what catches my eye!

Weather-wise, it was cold today, but sunny and windy—though not nearly as windy as the last few days. I’m going to keep knitting my jacket; I’m now at about 37 cm on the first sleeve, and I need at least 45 cm before I can start knitting the cuffs. I’d like to have the jacket finished by Christmas :-)

Wow, it was cold this morning.🥶 It froze for the first time, and everything was white. I took the longer route to get the newspaper. The air was crisp and cold—it was wonderful.

Here in Main-Franconia, it was still -1° at 9 a.m. this morning with thick fog—which is still lingering—but it’s now back above freezing, though only just above 0.

First of all, I hope you all have a nice, cozy weekend in the warmth and get some good rest.

Here, the weather is quite pleasant compared to where many of you are. At least it was dry today, and the sun even came out. Tomorrow it’s supposed to get warmer than 10 degrees. It’s crazy right now, all this back-and-forth.

Today we were at the Saumarkt here in our town of Wurmannsquick—the Christmas kickoff, so to speak, before the Advent markets. I was really happy to see that there were lots of booths selling handmade crafts. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a booth selling yarn—just finished items like hats, gloves, neck warmers, etc.

Something really funny happened when we were at a booth selling men’s hats. A newspaper reporter actually came up to us just as my husband was trying on a hat and asked us some questions. And now we’re in Monday’s issue of the “Passauer Neue Presse” with a photo and our names. That was quite a surprise. People will surely be stopping us more often on our walks from now on. :))

There was actually some sunshine this morning! Yayyyy—I went for a quick walk right away. Now it’s clouding over again, and it’s supposed to rain later, too. The Rhine is already pretty high again.

It’s been mild here too, with sunshine popping up now and then.

My trip to the flea market was a success. I picked up two enamel bowls and used one of them right away for decoration—bottom right

Now that’s a welcoming entrance!
