Hello everyone,
the circle is complete!
As Monika already mentioned, the package arrived at my place on Friday. But I had appointments all day Friday and no time at all. So there it sat, all lonely and alone, right in the middle of my big green living room rug. I wanted to savor unpacking it, after all, and that takes time.
Then at 10 p.m. that evening—my husband was already in bed—the day was over and curiosity got the better of me. Just a quick peek inside. A big bag full of yarn popped out at me. I sat on my rug, surrounded by yarn, sorting through it all. My favorite pieces then called out loudly, “I want to stay with you.” So I sorted everything out nice and neatly—all mine! As you can see, that’s quite a lot. So many beautiful shades of pink and rose-colored cotton :-) And I also find the white skeins without labels very interesting. Maybe I can dye them and knit something summery with a loose stitch from them. I also liked the white sock yarn right away because it’s so nice and thin. I can use that for my doll clothes. And the dark lace yarn could become a companion yarn for a knitting project. We’ll see. For now, everything is in very good hands with me and just has to wait its turn. I’d like to thank everyone who donated my new yarn.
BUT
then, right at the bottom of the box, a surprise came to light. A little black treasure chest with the words “Treasure Chest for Ina” written on it. Oh wow, what a wave of joy washed over me. I was wide awake again in an instant.
I opened it carefully and was quite amazed to find letters and little packages...
But it was already evening. I wanted nothing more than to explore and unpack everything hidden in the treasure chest. But since I figured you’d want to be part of it—and my camera is absolutely essential for that—I left everything as it was and went to bed with a pleasant sense of anticipation.
Just one more sleep. This morning—before breakfast—I had the time, light, and leisure to take a closer look at your surprises. To savor the moment, I set everything out first:
While my husband was clattering about in the kitchen preparing breakfast, I immersed myself in your gifts. I unwrapped everything carefully and was amazed anew with each one at what I was holding in my hands. So many little treasures, many of them handmade with care and love, or chosen just for me: lucky charms, guardian angels, sayings, beautiful handicrafts, and kind, handwritten words.
I’d like to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful surprise. It seems to have traveled along from place to place. And you all knew about it, so you got to look forward to my surprise later on. Absolutely wonderful. I’m touched by your appreciation and gratitude.
You’ve only seen everything wrapped up in the treasure chest, so now you can admire it all again here with me. Soooo many beautiful things :-)) Thank you all so much for them.
There are quotes to reflect on and tea to enjoy, practical keychains, tea lights for cozy relaxation, decorative items to admire, a glass ball for daydreaming, colorful items to lift your spirits, practical items to use, and things that are simply beautiful to look at and will always remind me of you. The contents of the treasure chest were as diverse as you all are—each of you gave a piece of yourselves in it.
I hope you have lots of fun looking through my treasure chest.
Warmest regards—Ina
