Craft Supplies: Counting Up and New Purchases

Enough :-) For me, it works roughly like this: when needles become available, they’re used for the next project. So what gets knitted depends on which needles are free :-)

Let’s take stock, please: leftover yarn / yarn stash / yarn purchases.

Somehow I get the impression that it’s actually increasing rather than decreasing.

July Projects: As always with UFO Week from July 23-August 3, Best Leftovers, Yarn Rescue, Tunisian Crochet and all the other popular activities

I started this back in June—does that count as a UFO?

It’s supposed to be a shawl, but I’m not quite sure yet if I have enough yarn.

Actually, viscose is a man-made fiber, but it’s made from natural materials (mostly wood). Please don’t ask me exactly how that works :-)

Final sprint and awards ceremony // all June projects at a glance

In the other thread, I think I posted 2 finished projects, if I remember correctly. But those weren’t UFOs, neglected projects, or unraveling-or-whatever projects—they were just regular projects :-) Things aren’t looking great with the yarn diet either, because, after all, you have to treat yourself.
And I’ve uploaded a new pattern.

How are you today? Is everything going well?

It’s just so-so again. Dad’s in the hospital with pneumonia—at 92, that’s no walk in the park. We’ll see how it goes.

Hats are also in demand again in winter. This value set includes two of them with winter motifs. Both come in several sizes. The motifs are each shown in knitting charts.

When the days start getting cooler again, you’ll be glad to have an infinity scarf to protect you from the cold.
It comes in a wide variety of styles - long or short, with or without buttons, knitted in the round or in rows, just as you like.

Here’s the pattern.

Preview Fall and Winter 2018: Back to School, Fall Decorations, Halloween, Warm Clothing, Advent and Christmas

Oh yes, Halloween will be coming around again too. For that, I recommend a spooky potholder, double-knitted, with a ghost. The technique takes a little practice. It makes the colors on the opposite side mirror each other exactly.
The ghost is shown in a knitting chart.

This way to the ghost.

Weekend Projects: Time for Crafts :-)

Small knitting projects are also great for the balcony or garden. They won’t make you break a sweat. A little pouch like this is fun to make, comes together quickly using small scraps of sock yarn, and can then be used as gift wrapping, for example. However, this pattern isn’t for beginners!

Weekend Projects: Time for Crafts :-)

Supposedly the weather is going to get nicer again this weekend, at least here where we are, and hopefully where you are too. That means crafting outdoors is the order of the day.
When it's warm, I like knitting with cotton. And I have something for you...
This stole is knitted from a cotton blend yarn in a simple brioche pattern (explained with pictures). It’s a very nice project for outside. You’ll pick up the pattern quickly, and then you can really enjoy the sunshine without having to think too much.

The pattern is here.

Openwork Patterns // Lace Patterns

This crochet cowl has a very simple lace pattern. It’s an almost meditative craft project, but nevertheless fun. My original is made from sock yarn. But that’s not a must; other yarns work well too.

Please follow the link to the pattern.

Openwork Patterns // Lace Patterns

Or how about a beautiful triangular shawl knitted from sock yarn? A lightweight yet warm accessory you can snuggle up in, explained in both words and knitting chart form.

Openwork Patterns // Lace Patterns

A lace shawl is always useful outdoors on cool summer evenings. Knitted in cotton, it’s more of a summer piece, but of course you can also use yarns that provide warmth, making the shawl suitable for the cold season as well.
The pattern is written out row by row, and there is also a knitting chart.

Here is the pattern.

Handmade Bags: Do You Need a New Bag?

You can never have too many bags—for shopping, for the beach, for everyday use. And the best part is that you can knit them yourself.
This pattern is available for different yarn weights. It’s knitted in the round and features a pretty onion pattern, which is explained both in written instructions and in a knitting chart.

Here’s the pattern.

New Knitting Patterns for June and May 29/30/31

Were there really not any more knitting patterns in June? Then it’s definitely time for my new triangular shawl! Very simple and absolutely beginner-friendly, something you can knit on the side while an exciting crime show is on TV. With 1 skein of sock yarn, you can already achieve a decent size.

You can find the pattern here.

New in June + May 29, 30, and 31

I'll quickly sneak one more in here: my new shawl. It's so easy that you could even knit it in your sleep. My original is made from sock yarn, but basically you can knit it from any yarn you like and in any size you like.

Here’s the pattern.

Using up colorful leftover yarn

Colorful leftover sock yarn can be wonderfully knitted into these little bags. They work well as gift packaging or for storing other small items. The pattern is easy. You should be able to knit in the round.

You can find the pattern here.
