Well, I already have the yarn cake—does that count? I also know exactly what I want to make. But I won’t start until September. That’s because I want to finish a few other things first.
Although, if I don’t like my cape as much as I imagine I will (I’m very tall, and if, contrary to expectations, it turns out too short), I’ll just repurpose it as a Christmas gift. In that case, I’ll have already started back in March.
Do you feel the same way? Every year, Christmas comes all of a sudden and without warning, and you always end up having to finish things at the very last minute.
It’s a phenomenon that catches me off guard every single year! No matter when I start.
There are only two options: "There's still ages to go until Christmas!" and "Oh sh...! It's almost here and I'm still missing tons of gifts!"
There's simply nothing in between :D
Christmas is still soooo far away....
Since I’m a summer person, I enjoy summer while it lasts and push thoughts of the cold, dark season far, far away.
In the fall, I start thinking about it for the first time, and then at the last minute, I end up putting everything into action :)
Well, I don’t even want to think about Christmas yet—since winter lasts soooo long here, I’m enjoying summer for as long as I can.
Right now, I’m still busy with summery crochet projects.
Christmas is still a long way off. Maybe I’ll start about four weeks before then.
Here’s how it’ll go for me:
Christmas? Still ages away.
Christmas? I could start thinking about it.
Christmas? Darn, too late!
Christmas? There’s always next year.
Hi,
I couldn’t really say an exact start time either—the first ideas usually come around September/October. They usually only get put into practice 4–6 weeks beforehand =)
Here is a promotional thread for all authors with no limit on quantity, which you can add to at any time, matching all topics related to autumn, winter, Christmas, etc.
February 26, 2018 = A late start on a year-long temperature blanket, which of course won’t be quite finished by Christmas (there’s a photo!), but will be finished and given as a gift at the beginning of 2019. Final size approx. 220 x 130 cm, as a bedspread
I’m also going to start on Christmas gifts this week. Since I’m still pretty new to sewing, I’m worried that otherwise the projects I have planned won’t be finished by Christmas.
I’m slowly getting interested in winter/Christmas, and I’m browsing for inspiration. I’ve already crocheted a little something. But for now, autumn and Halloween are still at the top of my crafting list, and I need to get ready for them.
You know how it goes.
You should start preparing for Christmas right after New Year’s Eve at the very latest. Last-minute Christmas preparations start right after Easter.
If you wait until gingerbread is on store shelves in the summer heat, you’re too late. :-)
Winter isn’t even over yet—today is—supposedly—the first nice day—will Christmas really come around again? I still need to finish the birthday gifts for my parents’ 70th birthday—I have one ready, but two more to go—plus a few other projects on the side. Since I’m going back to school in September and am already busy with preparations, I won’t have much time for crafts in the near future. But I’m sure a Christmas decoration or two will fly off my needles in the next few months.
