Scraps are great for knitting washcloths, dishcloths, or even pot holders using thicker yarn.
The following two designs are easy to make and have a big, pretty impact.

Knit a dove of peace onto a dishcloth, washcloth, or pot holder.

New Yarn Swap Package No. 3/2022

@Nadel-Bine,
I feel the same way as you do about letting go. I had that with the first yarn swap package. I had already picked out quite a few things and put them back again until it finally felt right. The second one went much better. And now I’m good at passing on yarn that I’m not going to use anyway.

Little Finn

So… little Finn inspired me so much that I—unfortunately, yet again—gave in.
Tomorrow, little Manuel is coming to stay with me—he’s the twin brother of Marion’s Finn.

Well, I really sat there thinking about it for a long time, and I was torn. There were mostly reasons to say yes—and so now (hopefully) my daycare is complete.

I’d already posted a photo with Rosalie and Tommi. The two of them are a cute couple and go great together, even in terms of their approximate size.

Sternchen was sitting there all alone… and now she’s getting a little brother. They’ll be just as cute a couple as Marion’s. And there’s a big advantage to it, too. I’ll have another size now at 43 cm—the same size as Baby Born. Now I can dress almost all standard doll sizes.

I’ll start picking out a few things for him; I’ve got quite a bit in my stash.

Doll Thread 2022 + 2021: New addition to the family + Making up for the lack of social contact during the COVID-19 pandemic + Having fun with our inner child

Yesterday, a few of my “babies” had a photo shoot. Rosalie is now sitting next to Tommi. The two of them are a good size match, but you can still see the 7 cm difference.

And then there are the two little babies. They showed off their outfits for the pattern, which will be uploaded soon. One is wearing cuffed pants, and the other has footed ones. The sweater is the same, and one of the hats has a pom-pom.

Petra, I think it’s the pattern. It makes the jacket look pretty big and bulky. It might look better with smaller patterns. That makes a huge difference. That’s why I prefer to knit stockinette stitch for the little ones—or, as I said, with a very subtle pattern. For example, you can achieve a lot with slipped stitches or a delicate lace pattern.

I also think the hat looks too bulky because of the pattern. But it still looks cute, and I’m sure the kids don’t care.

Marlene, your jacket turned out really great.

I can’t show you anything yet—the jacket’s still a work in progress. It’ll probably end up being one for Tommi. For Rosalie, I’ll have to start it in a larger size.

Everyone should have this peace dove—on a washcloth, dishcloth, or potholder. It’s easy to knit and, of course, also makes a great gift.

These dishcloths / washcloths with 6 different patterns are a really great stash-busting project. I only needed about 30 g for one cloth. The patterns make them easy to tell apart and, of course, they are also very simple and quick to knit.

Wool Find

Marlies, what you found is a really rare find these days. I also remember that wool used to always be itchy. It’s completely different today. There’s even very fine, soft yarn available for sensitive skin.

Your find could be a great idea for felting—for example, to make containers or slippers. In that case, it doesn’t really matter.

Hey Sabine, that’s great—now that you’re on board, the group is full. It’s really something special to receive such a huge package full of yarn. I’m hard at work writing the patterns. They’ll be coming soon, I promise. First up, the ones for the little ones.

April Projects and March Projects 2022, Part 3: the Crazypatterns Crafting Group

Marlies, you can definitely manage that little suit for the 35 cm doll. It’s not that hard if you’ve knitted before. The hardest part is always the design and adjustments. Sometimes you just have to rip it out and start over.

Andrea, I’m absolutely sure you can do it, too. :)

Anja, your reading pillow looks great with those colors. Keep at it! Your kitty might like it, too.

Ruth, I’m actually going to take a photo of them all together with their outfits. It looks really cute.

My goodness, Ines, your dog-shaped pot holders are truly works of art—each one more beautiful and perfect than the last. I really admire that kind of work. Your shirt is turning out beautifully, too. By the way, I used this yarn to knit my second set of guest towels and washcloths. It looks very elegant. Especially nice for a shirt. Enjoy spending time with your grandson and his parents.

It doesn’t seem to be going that fast to me—so much for “turbo.” But I’m happy about every piece I see growing. Right now, I’m working on a hooded jacket for Rosalie. The orange pants suit her best. And now she’s getting a matching raglan jacket to go with them. The hood will be knitted on at the end.

Have a wonderful Sunday in May, everyone.

Marlene, your jacket looks very elegant in that spring color. It turned out beautifully.

Ruth, your pillow looks great, so nice and colorful. I would have thought it was knitted. That pattern would definitely work for that, anyway.

As for my collection for the dolls, it’s actually going to be several pieces that all go together. Except for the diaper, I’ve finished everything so far—for 5 little doll babies.

Here are the last pair of pants for the little ones and a hooded jacket to go with them.

I’m also going to knit a pair of pants with feet attached for Sternchen—that way I’ll have several sizes. Rosalie is getting a matching hooded jacket now. It’s already on the needles.

A New Addition to the Family—Rosalie Is Here

Yes, Andrea, I see it just the way you do. It’s okay for the “doll mom” in us to still be alive. There’s such a beautiful song by Peter Maffay from the musical *Tabaluga*, where he sings: “I never wanted to grow up... ...somewhere deep inside, I’ve remained a child...” That really spoke to me.

Why do you want to wait any longer to give your little one a sibling? She’ll definitely be happy to have a new addition to the family. Then she won’t feel so alone when you’re at work. ;-)

Yes, Christina, you’ve figured it out. I stand by it, and it’s the most wonderful “epidemic” there could be, because it spreads joy. And that ultimately contributes to all of our well-being. :)

In any case, my “kindergarten” is now complete (for now). I have so many different sizes to knit for now. I already have a few ideas in mind… And once again, joy is in the air. :) And we should embrace that much more.

First, the popular doll clothes in my shop:

The overall for teddy bears or dolls 25-35 cm is easy to knit with raglan from the top down. It is just as easy to put on, since it has no buttons. It is quite stretchy at the top.

This sweet summer outfit fits dolls sized 43-50 cm and also newborns. The top is knitted with raglan from the top down.

Small baby dolls (43-50 cm) can be dressed just like a baby. This Schlüttli with the matching hat looks absolutely adorable. It is knitted with raglan from the top down.

This colorful clothing set for dolls about 50 cm tall is great for knitting with leftover yarn. Now summer can come for the doll child, too.

For the little doll mom (3-4 years), there is also a matching partner look with this pretty colorful skirt. It has elastic at the top in the waistband.

For toddlers aged 3-5 years, these leggings can be knitted from sock yarn. My granddaughter really did wear them that long. They grow along incredibly well.

If you want to learn an easy way to knit socks, then get

Using short leftover yarn, small fabric scraps, and small paper scraps / cardboard scraps

This diaper for baby dolls (43–50 cm) can be crocheted quickly and easily from small amounts of leftover yarn. It’s best to crochet several of them right away to make a doll mum happy.

You can use lots of leftover yarn for this colorful clothing set for dolls (50 cm). It’s fun to knit these clothes, whether as a gift or for dressing the doll.

For this mini sleeping bag for small stuffed animals or dolls up to 20 cm, you’ll only need a few colorful bits of leftover yarn. Very easy to knit.

Well, Marlies, I would have fallen in love with your Rieke right away, too. She’s just so sweet. I’ve been looking at her for quite a while now. Yes, Christina’s right—it can quickly become addictive... But who cares? It only does us good. :)

Your little baby already looks so adorable in her new clothes. I’m sure there’s plenty more to come. I’ve now put together almost an entire collection for my little one in the same size. A hooded jacket is still to come, which I’ll finish today.

Inge, teddy bears are among my favorites, too. I’ve never had as many as you, but I still have plenty.

It’s nice to know I’m not alone in my crazy fondness. The child in me is still very active.

A New Addition to the Family—Rosalie Is Here

Petra, you’re right. With her previous owner (I inherited her), she was actually a boy. And I sensed that at first, too. Still, she wants to be a girl with me and wear dresses. Since girls can wear anything, she’ll also get an outfit every now and then that boys can wear. In that case, she’d be a Manuel.

Ina, Rosalie actually felt right at home with me right away. She has other doll children here and is in good company. She likes that. By the way, the previous owner’s niece was very happy that I treat her similarly to her aunt, who left this sweetie behind. I invited her to this thread.
