Hello, dear friends,
it’s that time again! Now that we’ve all made it through the Easter holidays, it’s time for a new surprise in the form of a large
5 kg package full of colorful balls of yarn. There will surely be lots to discover, admire, feel, and swap again.
Everyone who wants to take part in the swap circle can sign up here in this thread. If you haven’t joined before, you’re welcome to read all about the previous swap package
in this thread.
The swap circle works like this:
I am the initiator of this swap circle and would pack a 5 kg package with yarn.
I ask all participants beforehand by email for their name, address, and their likes and dislikes regarding yarn and compile a list from that information. Anyone who wants to can then take the likes and dislikes into account when packing the package. If you don’t specify anything here, you’ll just let yourself be surprised.
The data will not be published here on CP. I will place the list I have created in my freshly packed yarn package. I will send it at my own expense to No. 2 on the list.
No. 2 on the list receives the package and chooses what she likes from it. As a replacement for the yarn taken out, she puts yarn of equal value into the package. No. 2 then sends the package at her own expense to No. 3 on the list. The list goes back into the package, and so on and so on. In the end, the package comes back to me because I am the last address on the list. I will then destroy the list with the data.
In the end, the package must always have the same weight, so that
everyone has the same amount to choose from and the
postage is the same for every participant.
We’ll be happy to show where the package currently is and photos of the “captured treasures” here in the forum. Then everyone can share in the excitement a little (and be annoyed that they didn’t join in;-). After the swap circle starts, there will be a new thread for that.
Summary of the rules:
1. The package may not weigh more than 5 kg so that the DHL postage remains the same for all participants.
2. Every ball of yarn must have a label.
3. Several balls of yarn of the same type need only one label.
4. The yarn taken out is always replaced with yarn of equivalent quality.
5. Only yarn should be swapped, no books, knitting needles, crochet hooks, or the like.
If you’d like to join in, feel free to sign up here in this thread. But please don’t post any data here; we’ll handle all of that later by email.
Warm regards from Ina
