If you’d like to use up a few cotton leftovers and don’t want to think too much while relaxing in the garden or on the balcony, you can try making a potholder or a dishcloth. Thick cotton, knitting needles, and off you go—so easy!

On the weekend you have time, so you can certainly start something a bit bigger. How about a chic summer scarf that you can wear in the evening at a garden party? On one of the following weekends, of course—it's probably too late for this weekend. Although, it works up so quickly, you won't believe your eyes.

Baby hats are always a lovely gift for expectant parents. Hand-knitted ones bring twice the joy and are also quick to make, because these hats are, as is well known, not very big. I have a two-color model with cables to offer, inspired by the fairy tale of Rapunzel. Not exactly easy, I should say right away; this pattern is intended more for experienced knitters.

Gooseberries aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. I don’t like them, but if you do, go right ahead. In any case, they come in all kinds of shades, from green to yellow to red. This scarf offers these colors and is crocheted from sock yarn. The pattern is a simple mesh pattern with cables in between.

Raspberries with cream—that’s how you could describe the colors of this triangular shawl. It’s knitted with sock-weight yarn on 4mm needles.

Just don’t be afraid. The vast majority of stitches—whether in knitting or crocheting—aren’t difficult, even if they sometimes look complicated. Most of the time, it’s just a matter of doing what the pattern says and not getting discouraged before you even start, thinking, “I’ll never be able to do this.” Have confidence in yourself! And if something doesn’t work out right away, what’s the big deal? Just rip it out and start over.

Well, I can’t sew either, that’s true. I almost forgot :-)

Nature. A few hours in the woods give me more energy than anything else. I love watching the birds and squirrels, and when I come across a frog or even a salamander while I’m out, I’m especially happy. And real strawberries and raspberries, of course!
