When you're dozing off on a lounge chair in the garden, you may quickly start wishing for a comfortable head cushion. You can knit the cover for it yourself. You'll need two colors of cotton with a yardage of 140 m per 50 g and 3.5 mm knitting needles. The interwoven pattern is explained both in writing and in a knitting chart.

I’m familiar with linen stitch from knitting; it’s a pattern where you slip stitches with the working yarn in front. This creates an effect that’s somewhat reminiscent of woven fabrics. These patterns aren’t usually very stretchy and are well-suited for items that need to be durable—like socks, for example.

I haven’t shown you my new loop scarf yet. It’s easy to crochet, preferably using yarn about the thickness of sock yarn. You can also use other yarns; you may just need to adjust the number of stitches slightly. But the pattern explains how to do that.

For me, May was a bit of a mixed bag. My father, who has dementia, is really taking a toll on my nerves. He’s now been admitted to a nursing home, but he keeps running away and getting lost, or he falls and hurts himself. Every now and then, he ends up in the hospital. Every now and then, we get a call asking us to pick him up from somewhere in the middle of nowhere. And most of the time, he doesn’t even recognize me. Well, it is what it is.
As far as crafts go, I’m feeling rather unmotivated right now. I start a lot of projects but finish very few. I guess my general restlessness is spilling over into my crafting. That’s why I’m actually all the more surprised that sales are picking up even without much fanfare. I also have a few patterns in the works. They’re at similar stages of completion as my knitting projects.

These bracelets are also much easier than they look, and the great thing about them is that you can use up some of your cotton yarn scraps.

Potholders are always great for pretty little projects that won’t frustrate beginners. Plus, you don’t need much yarn for them, and they’re quick to finish. Some leftover colorful cotton, matching knitting needles (for potholders, I’d choose a slightly smaller needle size so you get a nice, dense stitch pattern), and you’re ready to go.
This pattern is very simple. It consists entirely of knit and purl stitches. Really nothing tricky!
