I can’t complain about May. I didn’t post a single new pattern. But I’ve rediscovered myself and my joy in crocheting. Unfortunately, I’d somehow lost that joy and had to reevaluate my priorities between family and crocheting.
But now everything is back on track. And starting in June, I’ll slowly but surely get back into it. And then keep going, slowly but surely. And I won’t put pressure on myself anymore to the point where I dread having to crochet something.
Last week, with my son’s help, I successfully made some great birthday gifts—he knows exactly what Minions are supposed to look like.
And it was really fun again to tinker and experiment.
May was great—I had an amazing vacation with fantastic weather, wonderful experiences, and, of course, great food and drinks.
I turned another year older and had a wonderful birthday that was just the way I like it.
I also sold my 1,000th pattern in May and am now a Top Author—a big thank you to all my customers for that :-)
In May, I turned quite a bit of leftover yarn into some lovely projects. I also came up with some new ideas, some of which I’ve already brought to life, and I’m currently writing up the patterns for them.
Right now, I’m enjoying the beautiful weather—often in the garden or on the balcony. For me, the weather is always perfect for crocheting and knitting.
I have a few new projects planned for June that I want to work on. Most importantly, I’ll be ending my “yarn diet” and buying a big package of yarn... yay!
For me, May was a bit of a mixed bag. My father, who has dementia, is really taking a toll on my nerves. He’s now been admitted to a nursing home, but he keeps running away and getting lost, or he falls and hurts himself. Every now and then, he ends up in the hospital. Every now and then, we get a call asking us to pick him up from somewhere in the middle of nowhere. And most of the time, he doesn’t even recognize me. Well, it is what it is.
As far as crafts go, I’m feeling rather unmotivated right now. I start a lot of projects but finish very few. I guess my general restlessness is spilling over into my crafting. That’s why I’m actually all the more surprised that sales are picking up even without much fanfare. I also have a few patterns in the works. They’re at similar stages of completion as my knitting projects.
