Any beginner can make this funny clown, since it’s made entirely of single crochet stitches. This finger puppet is a great companion for chasing away boredom or fears—for example, on car rides, at the doctor’s office, at bedtime, or… I’m sure you can think of other uses too!
To crochet it, all you need are a few colorful bits of leftover yarn and some stuffing.
The pattern is available here!
And if you’re in the mood for more finger puppets, click here!

Bookmarks are always great for using up leftover yarn. This one,
the little ghost, is super easy and perfect for beginners. All you need is a little thin white and black cotton yarn and basic crochet skills.
How about it as a little gift together with a book of spooky stories?
By the way - you’ll find even more bookmarks in my shop!

Knitting pattern Paula the Owl

Even small amounts of leftover yarn are enough for the belly, head, and little wings.

The pattern is shown in the instructions with a knitting chart, and it is also explained in writing row by row. The eyes are sewn on at the end using leftover felt or fabric scraps.

Paula is also the right size to use as a bag charm or keychain.

Baby shoes are fun to make, and they’re a great way to use up leftover yarn:

Easy Crochet Baby Shoes

(Please click the image to purchase/download)

Basic crochet skills are enough.  The PDF crochet pattern is illustrated, and brief instructions for the knitted version are included.

We need a total of approx. 50 g of yarn with up to max. 90 m per 50 g and a hook/needle size suitable for the yarn. The stated measurements are what matter (check the gauge), leftover yarn for the bows or 2 pretty buttons, yarn needle, tape measure, scissors

By the way: you can also “wrap” cash gifts this way..

Click here for the crochet pattern for the little shopping bag for toddlers, including contents

With this cute little shopping bag, toddlers can go shopping just like grown-ups. It fits a banana and an apple, for example.

The pattern also includes a lemon and a carrot. That adds a few more items to the pretend shop.

All parts can be easily crocheted by beginners (with basic skills). The crochet pattern is beginner-friendly and written without abbreviations. This is a great way to use up leftover yarn.

Click here for the crochet pattern for play kitchen food

Another great way for beginners (with basic skills) to use up leftover yarn is this play kitchen food set. This assortment covers a wide range of colors and can be crocheted creatively. For example, toast and butter, a fried egg, vegetables, and pasta.

The crochet pattern is just as beginner-friendly as the one for the bag. It’s best to get both patterns right away and make your child or grandchild very happy with them.

Potholder “It’s So Green” – Tunisian crochet

(Click the image to purchase/download )

Both the PDF pattern for the potholder and the pattern for the crocheted flower(s) include step-by-step photos.
Basic crochet skills are sufficient; the Tunisian crochet technique is explained with illustrations.

Materials
:
For 1 standard-sized potholder (21 cm x 21 cm): total approx. 100 g of cotton (blend) yarn with
50 g – approx. 90 m, according to the label (16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm), i.e. 50 g per color for a Tunisian crochet hook up to a maximum size of 4.5.

For the flower(s), a leftover of cotton yarn such as Catania
(Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl) is sufficient for a 2.5–3.5 crochet hook.

Note: Heat-resistant cotton yarn (= potholder yarn) is only loosely
twisted and is therefore difficult to crochet with, especially for beginners, since
the yarn tends to split easily. So if, for example, you don’t place a hot pot on
the potholder, you can also crochet with a cotton-blend yarn, such as
Pantino by Schoeller+Stahl.

Potholders are always great for pretty little projects that won’t frustrate beginners. Plus, you don’t need much yarn for them, and they’re quick to finish. Some leftover colorful cotton, matching knitting needles (for potholders, I’d choose a slightly smaller needle size so you get a nice, dense stitch pattern), and you’re ready to go.
This pattern is very simple. It consists entirely of knit and purl stitches. Really nothing tricky!

Here’s the pattern.

These bracelets are also much easier than they look, and the great thing about them is that you can use up some of your cotton yarn scraps.

More about it here.

The name says it all! Reste-Blümchen always come in handy ♥

Even the tiniest amounts of leftover yarn are enough to crochet at least ONE layer of these little flowers, because each layer is crocheted separately and they are joined together only with a pretty decorative button!
