Oops, I’m even later.
Belatedly, I’d also like to wish you a very happy birthday, and I’m glad you had so much fun.

Warm regards from Norway

What are you doing this weekend? (No advertising)

I also had the weekend off, and I really made it cozy with my sweetheart. We slept in, had a hearty breakfast with rolls, eggs, and salmon.
In the evening, we watched a romantic movie with chips and cider (a sparkling mixed drink).
Since we both have hobbies, we each work on our own projects, and at the end, we look over each other’s work.
So everyone has their own space.
The weather wasn’t great today, but otherwise we go on long walks or bike rides. There’s plenty to explore in the beautiful countryside here.

I also finished one of my unfinished projects: my crocheted jacket. I still need to upload a photo.

Wishing everyone a great start to the week and lots of wonderful ideas.
Best, Andrea

Question of the Week: How are your UFOs coming along? (No advertising)

Well, I’ve got some UFOs or WIPs lying around here too—I guess I’m not the only one. But it’s still under control for me.
The temptation here on Crazypatterns is so great that my to-do list just keeps getting longer.
So every now and then, something gets put on the back burner.

But… I’ve been crocheting my hexagon granny jacket, and I’m almost done. I just need to crochet a small pocket, then I can tackle the next project.

I also have a triangular shawl I started that I want to give to my mom.
A teddy bear is still waiting to be sewn together, and a crocheted bag for work still needs a lining.

My Creative Workspace

Hi Tanja,
it’s truly an absolute delight to admire your photos—so cozy and playful. You immediately feel right at home when you see your home craft space like this.
I don’t even have a room of my own, but our living room is quite large, so I sit at the dining table. We had to get a new wall unit to store everything (we just moved and now have more space).
By the way, I also have that round sewing basket, only in beige with a colorful lid. I have a craft punch and a sewing machine too. You do tend to have lots of hobbies.

Everything is so tidy at your place, indeed. At my place, everything around me is stored away in drawers or fabric boxes. Only what I need is on the table.
Thanks for giving us a little glimpse. You just can’t get enough of looking at it. Simply wonderful.

But honey, no... I’m not gay. You can rest assured about that,
but... I grew up with my three favorite sisters, and they had a thing for bright, bold colors.
That must have rubbed off on me somehow.

Question of the Week: What have you been crafting today? (No advertising thread)

I've started crocheting again for a cardigan made from these hexagons (2 pieces), which are then crocheted together into a cardigan with sleeves.
I've already made quite a bit of progress, maybe also because I have 2 days off to relax, and after the stress of our move it's a great way to unwind.
I crocheted it with this gradient Bobbel yarn (from wolltraum). We'll see how it looks in the end.

Sewing on safety eyes

Thank you, Wolligurumi. Great explanation—even for me. It makes sense that you have to stitch in at the back of the head; that gives the eyes more stability. I’ll give that a try. I’d always just tried sewing them on from the front, but that obviously won’t hold.

Sewing on safety eyes

I need your help. Does anyone know how to work with these plastic eyes for crochet figures that have a plastic pin with a hole at the end? How do I sew them on? Crochet pieces aren’t very thick,
after all. I know how to handle the usual safety eyes with their plastic or metal counterparts, but with these others, I’m not sure how to sew them on tightly. Thanks for any tips.

Wonderful Wednesday (not an advertising thread)

A wonderful Wednesday, yes, because I still have the day off, and with this lousy weather (sleet, strong winds, and fog), I don’t have to go out today. So I can keep crocheting my tunic (photo coming as soon as I’m done). I’m not even sure yet if the tunic will turn out well (pattern from Crazypatterns here).

I’m going to enjoy the rest of the day until my sweetheart gets home from work, and then we’ll have a nice cup of coffee or cappuccino together.
And of course, I’ll be reading along here in the forum and getting some inspiration.
Have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday, everyone!

Coloring books and coloring pages for adults are in

This coloring trend has already caught on here in Norway, too. You won’t believe it, but I’ve already bought some of these adult coloring books—some of them I ordered online.

They have pretty designs—landscapes, animals, flowers (to color with fineliners)—and I also have a paint-by-numbers coloring book (the number corresponding to each color is listed on a color chart), and at the back of the book, there’s a picture showing what the finished artwork looks like.

I’m sure you’re familiar with those pictures where you have to connect the dots. I have one of those, too. I find them very relaxing to do in between other things, when my hands start to hurt from crocheting.

Happy 2017 to users, authors, and everyone on Crazypatterns

Of course, best wishes for the New Year are also coming to all of you here at CP from way up north. Have a great start to the year, and I hope the coming year will be just as full of creative ideas here at CP. Thank you so much for all your hard work creating new patterns.
It’s really fun to check in here, and everyone is so nice and helpful. Keep up the great work.

Warm regards from Norway
Andrea

Will there be time for crafting over Christmas? (no advertising thread)

Exactly—you have to make time for your hobby, even if it’s limited. It’s a way to “unwind” and “relax” at the same time. Otherwise, something’s missing.

What are you eating for Christmas? (No advertising thread)

That all sounds pretty delicious—it’s making me hungry just thinking about it.
There are just the two of us, and I have to work over the holidays, so we won’t be doing anything out of the ordinary. One day we’ll have rolled roast with red cabbage and dumplings; on New Year’s Eve, bratwurst with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes; and for the rest of the days, we’ll see. We also like to just have a mixed salad sometimes, or that good Norwegian salmon with rice.

Where are you from?

I was born in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, lived in Saxony-Anhalt for a while, and now I feel at home here in beautiful Norway (near Oslo), with its fascinating nature, fjords, and waterfalls. The forest is right outside my front door. The air here is so clear, and this dry cold is more bearable.
But of course, I’m always happy when we visit Germany and the whole family—including the kids—is together again.

How old are you, anyway? (not a promotional thread)

I’m 53 years young.
Young at heart, too. I just flip the number around and feel like I’m 35. I look younger, too. I’ll probably never grow up—I’m always up for some silliness.
I think the forum has a good mix of ages.

Crochet pattern for the Pink Panther in GERMAN

I found this page. Give it a try.

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/amigurumi-pink-panther

When you click the link on the page that opens, it takes you to a Thai website.

The explanation is this (I’ve already crocheted several patterns like that):
an “X” means 1 stitch (e.g. 3X means 3 single crochets), an “A” means to crochet stitches together, and a “V” means 2 stitches in one, so an increase.
But as for the head, legs... I can’t make that out either. It’s all crocheted in pink anyway.
Give it a try. Hope I was able to help a little.
