Dear users, dear authors,
if anyone has ever wondered what the point of the oversized trend is, I’ve found the answer: the trend is called “slumping,” which takes “off-the-shoulder” to the next level.
To pull it off, you let your clothes slip off your shoulders—and this works best with oversized tops that have buttons or a zipper. That way, the top still stays in place a bit. Here are some pictures.
I’m not sure if it’s practical.
Who wants to give it a try?
To me, this looks anything but comfortable.
I have a few tops that fall off the shoulders, but they either slip down on just one side or almost on both sides.
They’re easy to throw on, but they aren’t secured anywhere.
It’s probably almost as bad as those tube tops—the ones with no straps and nothing to hold them up—that are constantly slipping around.
But hey, if you want to be trendy, you’ve just got to suffer a little. :-)
.... well, if it hangs over ONE shoulder, it still looks halfway casual—but if it slips over BOTH shoulders, then it looks more like someone is trying TOO HARD to be cool (and unfortunately, it just doesn’t work) ;-)
Sorry, but this look just looks plain stupid, and not cool at all ;-)
I think if one of my kids walked around like THAT, my reaction would be: Get dressed properly!
I also saw someone like that in town the day before yesterday, though the man was heavily intoxicated and didn’t even realize how “trendy” he was... ;)
So this is another one of those trends that nobody really needs.
My daughter was walking around like that recently. It was raining, and I told her to quickly throw on her big brother’s jacket - three sizes too big.
Very impractical, she still got completely soaked. So I wouldn’t really recommend it in the rain....
And no thanks, I wouldn’t want that either.
Trends like this usually pass me by without a trace, but thanks to you guys, at least I know what’s IN right now, even if I wouldn’t wear it myself.
Oops. That looks really ridiculous ;-) One of the women who posted before me already pointed it out: When it slips off both shoulders, it looks like you meant to do it but failed. Veeeery uncool!
