April Projects + March Projects 2021, Part 3: the Crazypatterns Craft Group

I have another little project to show you. It was something I worked on in my spare time. The basic pattern is from Mondmaennchen. A frog was still missing from my collection.

Ines, your jacket turned out beautifully. The colors are just amazing. I’d love one like that, too.

Ruthk, your blanket already looks great with that yellow in it. I like it.

Thank you so much for your feedback on the police officer 😍

Policeman, I did it!

I got to do a test crochet for Ines. It was so much fun—thanks again. I’m so happy that my police officer is now finished, and he can start his “duty” right on time for Easter.
It was a bit of a challenge for me, too, since I usually crochet in “mini format.”

So here he is

April Projects + March Projects 2021, Part 3: the Crazypatterns Craft Group

OMG, I haven’t checked in for a little while, and you’ve made such cute, adorable things again. I’m just amazed by what you all manage to finish.

Arni, your Woodstock looks so cute.
ruhtk, your robin looks adorable. It looks totally “real.” Great job.
Sonja, your DF motif looks absolutely adorable. I love little birds.

Monika, you must have been so happy to treat yourself to some yarn again. Those are such warm, autumnal shades. I’m sure you’ll work your magic and make something wonderful out of it. We’re happy for you.

But I’ll admit honestly, despite my “yarn diet,” I’ve browsed a yarn shop every now and then, and I even wanted to order some new yarn, but... I ended up scrapping that idea after all. I still have yarn in stock, but no more pretty colors.
I have to use that up first anyway.

Have fun crafting!

How is your wishlist doing?

My wish list is doing fine too—there’s just too much on it. Over 300 items. I clear some out, then add new ones. It all balances out. It’s just too tempting, after all.

and danis-WOLLIGE-welt, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that the occupational therapy shows some small improvements. Hang in there. Maybe someday you’ll be able to do some small craft projects after all. I hope so for you.
They’ve diagnosed me with osteoarthritis too, and I see crocheting as a little therapy. As long as I can do it, I’ll keep going. And don’t forget to take breaks often.

All the best to you

Thank you so much.

Petra, your decoration/gift looks great. That’s napkin decoupage, right? I used to do that too.

Easter: How do you celebrate? Which decorations do you like best?

At Easter, we only use a few small decorative touches. Since we’re both alone anyway, and no visitors can come over, that’s enough for us to create at least a little Easter spirit, even if the weather is gloomy and rainy.

My bouquet of tulips is still standing; next to it sits my crocheted Easter bunny along with a chick. I’ve placed my beaded Easter eggs in a little basket, and the bowl of my hand-dyed colorful eggs serves as both decoration and a snack. That’s all I need.
We’ll listen to “Mega-Ei” on the radio while we’re at it—it fits the mood.
Well, of course it would be nicer if the family were here, but we’ll just WhatsApp each other.

We used to have those little wooden eggs on the Easter tree—no idea where they’ve gone. I miss them.
No chocolate bunnies this time. The store where we used to buy them cheaply is closed because of COVID-19. Bummer.

Well then, happy and healthy Easter to all of you :-)

Diamond Painting

Hi Marlies,

I just thought of something else—to hide that border, I framed the picture in a mat, so to speak.
Just cut out a piece of paper or construction paper the same size as your picture, then cut out the inside so that only your picture is visible. I hope you can follow along—then just put it in the picture frame.

Or, even simpler, you can glue four narrow strips of paper (thicker paper so nothing shows through) around the picture. And just like that, you have a picture with a mat cutout.

Spring at home

That’s really sweet of all of you. I’m going to soak up every ray of sunshine and never let it go. Then I’ll wait until it gets warmer outside and let all those rays of sunshine go free—that’ll make me feel good. :-))

Oh Monika, that’s making my mouth water. Do you even realize what you’re doing here? It looks absolutely delicious—it’s impossible to resist. I’ll definitely have to try this sometime, but for now, fruit tart with whipped cream is on the menu for Easter.

Thanks in advance for the recipe!

Handbags: Which ones do you like best?

My handbags have to have a shoulder strap so I can sling them over my shoulder—that way my hands are free. But they have to have plenty of zippered compartments. I’m not really a fan of the ones with magnetic snaps.

I almost always use the blue leather bag. I take the colorful ones I crocheted myself when I go for a walk or for short trips. I have to fit my glasses, tissues, and keys in there.
The one colorful one with a strap—I take that to work; I keep my breakfast, water bottle, etc., in it.

The black one is, so to speak, my “party bag,” for special occasions, and it goes well with my little black dress.

Spring at home

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I have to bring spring home little by little, since the weather here is gray, foggy, and gloomy.
But... I went on my first bike ride outside yesterday; the sun came out briefly, but it was very windy.
I envy you guys—it’s almost 20° in Germany. Here, I still need a thick jacket. I’ve had enough of this. There’s even still some snow on the ground.
Send a little warmth our way to Norway.

Have a relaxing weekend, everyone. Don’t forget about the time change—set your clocks forward one hour. Another hour of crafting time has been stolen from us😕

Warm regards

Bakery

Thank you all. A cake like this only lasts 2 days in our house.

Petra, your cakes look delicious too. Easter cookies would be a great idea. What kind of dough do you use for those?

Well, I still have the classic tins that need greasing. I’m actually thinking about getting a silicone Gugelhupf mold. When I bake my muffins in these silicone molds, they turn out great, and nothing sticks. They always fall out of the mold on their own when I turn them upside down.
As for springform pans and tart base pans, I still can’t quite get used to them.

Yes, that’s true — I also spend a lot of time baking, cooking, cleaning up, and crocheting these days.
Today the weather was great for a walk, and I also picked up some whipping cream for the coffee cake.

Best regards
Andrea

Hi Marlies,
your picture looks great. I put my pictures in a frameless picture frame without anything else, and it holds up fine. It’s hanging on the wall.
But I think I read that there’s also a kind of spray varnish for this purpose.

Hi ladies,
there’s a lot going on here again. I wish you all a wonderful weekend anyway.

Monika, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your heating too—yes, it’s rough being without heat. We didn’t have a heating outage, but when it was so freezing cold here, you really notice it, and you’re shivering the whole time. So just snuggle up nice and cozy in a blanket with some hot tea and yarn. It’ll be fine.

Sonja, I always love your DF motifs. I like it when the contrasting colors are really different, like with your potholders—that makes the motif stand out better and looks great. I envy you all for this knitting artistry. I’m not quite there yet. I’d love to snag that DF iPad case right away—I think it’s fantastic.
And Monika, as your test knitter, is even giving you a run for your money.

Stay healthy, everyone—crafting distracts us and hopefully helps us relax. And take breaks often, for the sake of your wrists :-)

Warm regards

Eyes for Amigurumis

https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/11512/schlafpueppchen-mimi-und-mo-haekelanleitung

maybe like this, and embroider 4 more downward-pointing eyelashes on the “semicircle.” If you know what I mean.

Eyes for Amigurumis

For your teddy bear, I might embroider “sleeping eyes.”
I read that you don’t like doing that, but these eyes are just black lines with eyelashes to embroider—no pupils or anything like that, nothing more.
Take a look online; you’ll definitely find something simple there, and it’s well explained, too.

Maybe you’ll find pictures of little sleeping dolls here in the forum—you could use those as a rough guide. It really isn’t hard.

Good luck!

March Projects 2021, Part 2: the Crazypatterns Crafting Group

Good evening,

Wow, there’s a lot going on here again. You’re all so busy.
I’m also busy crafting/crocheting and reading along in the background. I can’t—or rather, don’t want to—upload pictures yet; I’ll wait until the projects are finished. That’ll take a little while.
In the meantime, I’ve crocheted some little hearts (picture to come).

About uploading pictures. If you have pictures saved in your folder, they’re usually too large for the forum. I click on the picture in the folder, then on “Edit” — a window opens — and in the “Pixels” column, I enter the number “350.” That’s exactly the right size. Click “OK” and “Save,” then you can upload it here. It has to be under 200 KB.

Monika, I’ve also read about your swap group here many times, and I’d love to have more information — or does it only work in Germany? Who would want to pay a lot to send something to Norway, or vice versa? It’s not worth it.
I remember “Tauschticket” from when I still lived in Germany. That was great. Does that even still exist?

Kind regards

I also wish you all a lovely and relaxing weekend. Enjoy the sun if it decides to come out.

Stay healthy, everyone.

Best wishes

Hey Josefa,

Winter is back

It’s been snowing nonstop since yesterday evening. It’s probably already 70 cm deep. I’ve already had to shovel the snow; otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to get out the door. My husband had to dig his car out early this morning. Now it’s really coming down.❄☃️
The snow is so wet that it’s really hard to shovel. Now I need a break.
Two days ago, we could sit outside, my laundry dried beautifully, and now this. I want spring 😕

A little spring greeting

I bought the daffodils. Out here, of course, everything is still gray, with hard, cold ground. Nothing grows.
Unlike in Germany, where crocuses and snowdrops come up on their own, here you have to go looking for them.
That’s why I brought a little color home with me, and I’m enjoying this little burst of blooms. We don’t have a garden.

Wow, so much has happened here again, I can hardly stop being amazed.

ines Your policeman is awesome. I have a school friend who works for the criminal police; she would certainly be happy to have a policeman like that too. Will there be a pattern for it at some point? I really want to crochet him. I’d most like to snatch him away from you right now, he turned out that great.

sonja, your DF cover looks stunning. The motif and the color choice. I’m always amazed at how you all manage to do that. I like it.

Ina, your cardigan turned out so beautiful. Pleasant “warm” colors. I’d like that one too. It makes you want to cuddle right into it.
Your temperature blanket is slowly taking on color now; I’m excited to see what it looks like when it’s finished.

I only crocheted up leftover yarn with mosaic crochet. (Pictures in the Reste-Beste thread)

then I wish everyone a pleasant afternoon with your handcrafts

best wishes from cold Norway

We finally got some sunshine here, too, with a temperature of just +5 degrees. There’s still some snow here and there, and the Drammenfjord was covered in a thick layer of ice. There were even some ice fishermen out on the ice.
Here are a few spring-like winter photos.

Have a great weekend, everyone

Thank you, Josefa—I wish the same for you all.

We still have some snow here and there, but temperatures are just barely above freezing, around 2 to 5 degrees above zero.
Luckily, the sun is coming out today, which gives us a little taste of spring.
So I’ll keep crocheting on my projects. Just a little bit at a time—the yarn is dwindling slowly, but I’d like to be able to buy some new yarn again at some point.
So I’ll have enough for a while yet.

Enjoy the sunshine or some gardening.
We’ll have to wait a bit longer before we can sit outside.
